I bought this wheel from the scrap yard for £15. Once I got it home I realized it had a brand new Pirelli P3000 fitted. A perfect match for a Restore It video.
First I removed the air from the tyre. I then struggled to get the tyre off as the rim was so rusty. Once off I removed the wheel weights and valve. Once they were out of the way, I began to remove the loose rust and dirt with a metal wire wheel and rotary tool. Once most it was off, I placed the wheel in the blaster and blasted it for what felt like a lifetime. The results were not adequate. So the wheel went off to a friend's more power blaster, where two different grades of media were used. This gave the wheel its original colour back. But it was pitted pretty much everywhere. The filler was used to smooth out all of the pittings and imperfections. It took a hell of a lot of filler and sanding to get it close to acceptable. Once I thought I satisfied with the surface, I set about priming the wheel. I then added more filler and did more sanding to completely remove any sizeable imperfection. I then added the colour coats and lacquer coats. Once dry I took the wheel and tyre to a professional fitter as to not have the wheel scratched. He supplied a new valve and air. I then added tyre shine and the restoration was complete.
This wheel will not be used on a vehicle. This was for aesthetic's only. A personal challenge I set myself.

No annoying music, no talking, plenty of info, beautiful shots, masterful work.
no garbage speech.... no stupid music... just real hard work and simple editing which is awesome. please make more videos like this. thank you.
Yes right
And a cute cat 9:50
The material alone would've paid for several rims, blah blah blah...
Thank you for putting the time and showing the full process in all your videos. The patience and workmanship is fantastic!
I respect your enthusiasm in the job you’ve set your mind on.
You just did 300 bucks worth of work on a 20 dollar wheel. Subscribed.
Kurosaki990Ichigo
Perfect repair man !
Kurosaki990Ichigo IT WAS SENTIMENTAL!!! 😂
Big facts😂😂 if u put the spare on is still uneaven so about 60 miles on it below 55mph 😂😂 did all the work as if it was a custom rim that wassant off balance
Imagine doing all this work and then boom bsck to trunk to sit for a good year of no needing a spare😂😂 gunna need another restoration
Thank you for putting in the description that this wheel was not to be used on a vehicle again, as a mechanic it bothered me that you were putting body filler on it, so I stopped, read the description and found I could enjoy this piece of art you have achieved. Subscribed!
As a tire tech that bothered me to but now that I know it’s an art piece I can relax about it haha
What is wrong with putting body filler on the wheel? There seemed to be plenty good metal left, so strength should be fine. Only problem I can potentially see, is that the wheel is susceptible developing leaks. Because of the mating surface between tire and rim having a thin layer of body filler that can break off creating said leak.
Frank Underwood. A wheel has to be perfectly balanced for a car to behave properly and safely on the road. The wheel would be fine but when the filler comes off it will cause the wheel to be out of balance and unsafe. A little vibration at the wheel while magnify through the suspension components and causing premature wear on the suspension and then it's a snow ball effect from there one wards to making the car unroadworthy if not addressed.
Ahh, makes sense. Reminds me of a top gear episode where they eyeballed welding a new set of wheels on the outside of the original wheels. Ended up with the whole rear end failing.
I was in the same boat as you. I was like NO! NO BODY FILLER ON RIMS! ARE YOU NUTS!? It is unfortunate that this is still one for the "art" bin.
Your patience skill is stronger than anything in this cruel world )
I really love restaoration videos. More please. I watch every second.
I like the way the cat watches him, and still takes it easy! Good restoration, though very fiddly, taking it all apart.
Proper job! I have 4 of these to do on an old Toyota, cheers for showing me how!
Amazing result, great restoration!!.
Good job. Very satisfying.
Salute from Malaysia 🇲🇾
Awesome job man! People that “get it” get it. People that don’t never will. Keep up the great work and videos. 👍🏼
Mind blown!!! we just discovered a new disorder ...Obsessive junk restoration disorder! keep up the good work!!!

Lol that's an interesting disorder
The style of your video is very useful.
The speechless is fantastic idea.
Everyone can see and understand what are you doing from the entire world. Well done.
IT GIVES ME ALOT OF JOY WHEN YOU COMPLETE ANOTHER PART FOR THE BEAMER BRO KEEP IT UP!!!!!
Thumbs up for the cat too! No job is complete without a furry supervisor!
Great job on the resto!
Meticulous, minimalistic and a comprehensive story without words. Love the environment and working sounds. To my mind you’re a experienced restorer and you know your way around a camera, lighting and editing software. Anyhoooo....a new sub.
All of those effort just for four lugs I can’t imagine how much more to 5 lugs forged wheels and how much you’ll charge I mean it’s perfect restoration without any shorts cuts, amazing ❤️
This was good. Reminds me of a movie I endured about a tire that could make things explode with its "mind".
Strangest 1 and a half hours of my life
What??? A movie about a tire that can blow things up with telepathy??? Did I read that right ???
That movie was weird but very interesting to watch.
J. Hunto's Garage I WATCHED THAT MOVIE
Yep that movie is messed up!!
10:00 the quality inspector 😂😂😂
the Cat* is the most responsabilty Quality Control 😊
Thinking about, normally those wheels are painted with really basic powder coating so that's why it rusts so badly and considering what he did (sanding, primer, lacquer and stuff) it may be way more durable than the original coating tbh.
Best job I've ever seen done thanks for sharring
Buying a brand new wheel would probably be cheaper, but i applaude your awesome work! It turned out really nice, and was probably quite a learningful and satisfying job :)
Buying lol
How about restoring that cat?
I think a "cat restoration" where you just give them a good brushing would be a fantastic video :)
DjJenix ROFL. Youre the best!
good comment
Buy new one cat! lol
Guess, that you can't do that with a spraygun.
I really appreciated.. Ignoring the cost ignoring the peoples who makes irrelevant comments... The struggle, professionalism and your hard work towards these kinda of Jobs is much much appreciated.. GOD Bless U.. From Pakistan
Yousuf Zafar thank you Yousuf. I really appreciate this comment!
Great informative video. Even though some of the methods are beyond my skill level, I feel can still do this .
I see reason in your madness :) Keep them coming. Subscribed!
Very impressive result for what it started out as. Skill, time, and motivation. Very rare combo. I would figure this would take me 30 hours or more to do. Keep it up friend.
Excellent. I totally get it. Yeah you can buy a new wheel but it's your project, your baby. And at the end of the day you can say I did that. Great feeling. Keep it up 👍
algorythrm reminding me of this, brilliant work i have my escorts little 13 inch steelies off ready for clean and repaint
This was a fun watch. Love seeing old discarded things given life again. Subscribed!
hey dude, you are heavy perfectionist
Perfect repair for an old 2005 tyre. Awesome, it´s new attending to the thread, but it is like a stone.
I'm glad you kept the near new Pirelli...Nice to see Kitty supervising.
This is a brilliant idea for a channel! You’ll have 100,000 subscribers in no time. Keep it up!
Austin Buck makina
Smiles the entire video. Nice job.
Bravo... Great job !!
Solid work! Earned a sub.
Looks great 👍👍👍
Good work, my congratulations, my friend. I appreciate your content. Greetings from Brazil.
Here you have the job for just one wheel...salute dude!
very nice job. pls post more
This channel needs 10x the amount of subscribers. Well planned out videos with a lot of details.
I’ve got 4 rusty e30 original hub cap wheels, might give this a try one day
Looks brand new!
Looks Great! And dont be afraid to go s bit closer with the spraygun, seems a bit dusty from that distance. Looks stunning tho:)
Gawd damn satisfying
I would replace the rubber tire, since that one is 13 years old dated 2005. Awesome Video!
u done a good job. Great video. Good effort

People who are negative don’t get the point of “restoration” excellent work
I said no, it's too far gone. Well, slow clap and standing ovation for you sir
The cats like aww jeez another one..he at it again..silly human😂😂😂
Awesome job, that spare looks like a Porsche spare or an Alfa Romeo spare,👍👍👍👍👍👌👌👌👌👌
Nice job looks great
Damn bro, nice job
I do not know what you would want to refurbish a steel wheel. But this is quite satisfying to watch. hahah
For Old-timer restos this is most likely the only way to go mate.
Very good job!! Congratulations from Brazil!!
Excellent work and very entertaining... and I think I may have spotted the Beemer at 10.26 😊
Keep making videos they are great.
supet
Subscribed! The crispy 60fps quality is very nice! What camera is used?
Well done sir!!
OMG I love the cat part!!
Looks great and gold air. I would totally use it as a spare lol.
Well done !
anyone else anxiously waiting for the cat to strike the green cloth?
I think you put more work into that rim than the company that made it!
Restore It NICE! you had actually applied double layer of primer, I'd tried to restored mine using WD40 and can-sprays only, you are making me ashame of myself... T_T
Nice video good work that cat at the end
I am speechless...Subscribed.
As you can see, the most important part of the job is proper cat placement.
powder coating would have been easier but you did wonderful work! Nice Job
Johnny Massengill that’s what I would’ve thought would be better, powder coat it! and cheaper for a cheap wheel
It is better to buy a new one. Too much labour and material used
rahmathulla rahmathulla It’d be a pretty dull video. “Guy buys a new wheel”.
Restore It Estas restaurando un bmw e30?
what's the purpose of powder coating in this situation ?
Beautiful as usual!
This is a great presentation for anyone owns a rusty classic Ferrari
Would love to see you do some powder coating! Great job
Parabéns pelo serviço muito bom mesmo
My favorite part of the video was hands down...
the cat =^-^=
It’s not about effort or time or money you put into it. People who are willing to buy new ones definitely don’t have these skills, and will not enjoy or be satisfied after hard handy tasks. Thumb up for u dude!
Beautiful!
GJ👍
People that say "just buy a new wheel" dont realize this is your job. 62k people watched so far. He probably made enough on this one video to buy 100s of that wheel. Cheap wheel not worth it? Oh but it was. Oh but it was...
Dubber98 exactly what I was thinking. (☞ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)☞ RUclips is a business, and he/she needs to keep making videos whether it be fixing a spare tire or making those awful slime videos
I'm not quite sure he's monetizing his vids, I have yet to see 1 ad
Ghassan Al Farra dude there literally was an "Airheads" commercial on this very video just as I opened this video to reply to your comment 🙄
@@broken_font1881 Dude, just as I opened up this thread to read your comment, a first ever commercial appeared, Netflix 😂 ..must have been some glitch in the matrix earlier on
Hit the nail on the head Dubber! Thanks for this comment man. It’s good to know there are people like you out there :)
Good job. 👏🙌👍👌
Excellent job, I think for the people who look to complain about the man hours put in the restoration process, its not about the time spent, its about taking on the challenge and showing the viewers here "how to do" and the process of performing some of these restoration projects. Its pretty obvious the person performing these restoration projects has some very exceptional craftsman skills that should be admired. Don't you think if he wanted he would just go out and purchase some of the same products he restores? I had to break this explanation down to Sesame Street level for the people complaining who have completely missed the mark and have not a clue about some of the reasons why "Restore It" performs some of the restoration projects they do, lol!
I like your cat
Maybe another video about the e30??
However, nice and clean job
This was oddly satisfying
i love the cat watching you
