I love a good reading stats video ^^ I'm very much with you on number-based reading goals. I find it tempting to set a high goal to push myself to read more, but at the same time, it feels completely arbitrary and doesn't reflect on so many other (and for some more important) metrics like how much I enjoyed the books I read, how much I got out from them, how big those books were, etc. I haven't really set reading goals for this year, apart from my 25 for 2025 list and reading more from my shelves since I'm doing a low-buy year, and I quite like the lightness of it, tbh ^^
100%! I'm glad you have a goal to shoot for but you're focussed on what's most important. Obviously no use reading a bunch of books that you don't like just to hit an arbitrary number ❤️
I'm all about the stats 📊🩷 LOL, I do love that you ended up starting more series than you finished. But I'm glad you decided to DNF the ones that you're not interested in. I'm definitely going to try to do that in 2025. I think it's fine and wonderful to like what you like & read what books you want. But if you want to expand, then it's something that you want to do so it's alright 🥰 I am a huge romance reader but definitely I learned in 2024 that once I expanded on my reading, I found myself enjoying lots of different books outside of my comfort genre. So I'm making it a goal in 2025 to try to read outside of that for sure. Very solid reading goals for 2025! I think 50 is definitely a solid amount. Mine is set at 52 for the perfect one per week. 😂
Yeah, I did enjoy the one or two books I read outside of my main genres, and I've also enjoyed expanding in those genres. I read a lot of fantasy and obviously there's lots of different types of fantasy, so I'm trying to widen my breadth there as well. 52 is definitely a neat and solid goal. I think we also often get hung up in the book community and compare ourselves to people whose numbers are in the 100s, but double digits of any sort is more than most people read in a year, so it's also important to keep things in perspective 😂

That's a great goal! I'm hoping most of the books I read this year will also be ones I already own 😅
I am hoping to read 61 books this year. I don't think I will make it though. It's the joy of reading that really counts.
