I shopped all these crossovers and even some of the higher end ones. I was biased against the tiguan so never even considered it. Went into Subaru to check out the Forrester and almost drove a brand new outback off the lot. But that damn cvt. Makes no sense with their awesome awd system. That drove me to check out the tiguan. I had to go back and fourth test driving between the tiguan and outback. I liked the tiguan so much that I'd have a hard time deciding between them even if the outback had a proper transmission. Bought the tiguan with the 3rd row. You can scoot the middle row up and put anyone 5'7" and below comfortably back their without making the middle row uncomfortable. Then you can also scoot the front row up too lol but only in a pinch. Wouldn't want to do a road trip like that but I wouldn't care. I don't have to sit back there.
