Charming Space Captain/Explorer. Leaned heavily into persuasion, took some of the other perks like Diplomacy and Intimidation, maxed out Piloting, built a C-Class that has 88 mobility that melts everything in seconds with partical cannons (not bad for nearly 4k in cargo, it will be better when i get Ship Design 4 and get the engines+ reactor I want). Took Empath, Kid Stuff and Adoring Fan.
Always pick the polite options and use skill checks/persuasion to get what I want with mininal conflict. Of course I didnt invest into "intimidation" for no reason. My character is fully aware of just how powerful he is, and doesnt take things lying down when "polite" doesnt work. He has a particular bone to pick with the Fleet after Vectera, ans goes out of his way to hunt them.
Originally he was supposed to be a "Competent Zapp Brannigan" and as such picked "flirt" every time it was offered, but I accidentally made him to compitent.

my favorite playstyle is the explorer/scientist/constellation style. It was honestly so relaxing and fun to bounce between planets and scan systems inbetween missions. Unfortunately my constellation mission board(s) completely bugged out and I couldn't pull jobs anymore no matter what I tried. Obviously I could still survey without it but it wasn't the same :-/ Still a great playstyle with the best xp gain imo.

My main character is an Explorer, and is currently level 82. He has fully surveyed just over 750 worlds. Completing the Vanguard storyline is helpful, especially when you receive the legendary armour, which provides decent damage reduction from alien creatures. Overall, I find exploration to be relaxing.
My second character, which I also enjoyed playing, is a Bounty Hunter, as was similar to the one in the video.
I have tried to play as a Pirate, but I just couldn't get into it. Mainly because I wasn't a fan of the Crimson Fleet storyline.
A future playthrough I'm thinking of, is going to be a Jedi. Using a lightsaber mod, it will concentrate on melee, the Social skills (which I never use), and Starborn powers.

By far my absolute favorite playthrough I did was somewhat an explorer. It was a fully invested Constellation member who just wanted answers. It was my first playthrough so I didn't realize the importants of traits (thought they were just postive negative traits that didn't affect RP) But going full in with the constellation member, exploring the unknown as a first play through was incredible. It made some choices easy and some EXTREMELY difficult.
My current playthrough is an ex bounty hunter looking to quit the hunting game and use their knowledge of traveling space for good with Constellation. Turns out trouble keeps following her. One complaint I have is I don't want to be Freestar Collective, but the rangers have their own board with hostage situations and such. I wish Vanguard had that seperate from SysDef... and even then I don't know if SysDef offers hostage missions...

    • @CoolGuyVerm
      @CoolGuyVerm Год назад

SysDef does have a mission board although you have to side with them and it’s pretty deep in the quest line, I wish Vanguard had a mission board as well, that’s why for my bounty Hunter I made him free star collective because of the mission boards you get after the bank Robbery although Vanguard quest line is the best which I still do regardless, the free star one is mediocre in my opinion. unless you’re looking to get the star eagle but I usually use the shield breaker or make my own ship.

My favorite playstyle I’m doing right now is the “Powerful Starborn”: someone who’s fully embraced their newfound power by going through Unity 10 times and is essentially treating other “lesser” beings as a game.
Clad head to toe in Starborn Venator armor, using a powerful Va’ruun rifle loaded with annihilator rounds in order to crush any foes before me with particle beams or otherworldly powers. They take a bounty hunter style approach to most things but they’ve lived many lives and done many things, so nothing’s off limits when it comes to morality.

Video suggestion: contraband locations. All randomly generated locations have contraband hidden in the same spot within. A video showing where to look for contraband in each procedurally generated building type would be amazing. It would probably do well as no one has made one yet.

    • @RocketRenton
      @RocketRenton Год назад

Also ships tend to have the contraband in the same spot as well from what I have seen, and Neon and the Hideout if you pickpocket the key off the woman at Frankies you can just rinse and repeat after resetting either by staying for 48 hours or visiting Venus for 5.
There is a bug though with the Ryujin quest and Kumiho's slate won't spawn, it's bugged so I recommend going straight to Imogen and forget going to Bayu otherwise the progress is stopped, you can use console command for the slate on PC but for Xbox it's a no go.
There are more examples of quests being bugged and sadly the patch released today hasn't fixed everything so they have a long way to go.

My character was a disgruntled miner who's family traced their lineage back to the Appalachian Mountains. He was upset about the unsafe conditions at the intro mine. And after being injured getting the artifact and promptly laid off he stole all the toilet paper, lotion, copper and every right shoe in the compound. They joined the Freestar Collective and took down Hopetech and then finally came around to helping Barrett and Constellation. Collecting the rest of the relics either corrupted them or maybe the power just went to their head because they've started to become more ruthless and combat focused since they started relying on their powers more to conquer the Red Mile.

My playstyle is a Space Marine Raider. I have the soldier background. But I invested heavily in the security skill to pick locks faster. Marine Raiders, in real life, needs to know how to pick locks with ease. I'm investing in intimidation, and I'm also investing in some of the science tree because a special operations operative needs to know how to survive in any environment. I'm putting investments on piloting also. Operators need to know how to handle any vehicle. Spaceships are basically replacing cars in this game. I play honorably, but I get the job done as best as possible. Innocent people are always safe with me, but pirates and spacers experience the fear of God with me. That's my preferred play style

It's hard with this game to really go for a dedicated playstyle. The skill points come in so slowly and there are so many skills unrelated to any playstyle that you pretty much have to put one or two points into early so that you're not completely gimping yourself. And what kind of weapons you're going to use comes more down to which ones you've actually managed to get your hands on advanced versions of and that you actually have the ammo to be able to use consistently. You need so many skill points to fully flesh out a build in this game because of how the skill trees are done that unless you're using some kind of cheesy leveling gimmick then you're probably going to be 2-3 NG+ runs in before you've maxed out every skill that's a part of the build you want.

Assault jetpacking bounty hunter is by far my favorite! Along with heavy investment in piloting/starship design and doing bounties/boading ships for reselling.
I do wish there was a proper bounty hunter quild questline and more flesh out bounty boards, and maybe some special missions that were related to bringing in targets alive as well, the radiant missions are fun and all but nothing unique about them. Would have been cool if for example there was a bounty hunter guild and it eventually led you to more dangerous targets that could have their own ships and gear for example that you could aquire if you managed to bring them to justice.

My character’s story: originally a peaceful farmer in a frontier planet, my character sets out on a quest for revenge after his wife and kid get murdered in what appears to be an initiation ritual by some gang. First he joins the UC Vanguard to learn how to pilot a spaceship. After rigorous training he becomes a rank 4 pilot and spaceship engineer, passes his flight test with “flying colors” (excuse the bad pun), and does one single mission to become a full fledged vanguard member (and get access to that tasty vanguard gear), only to abandon his duty immediately after to continue his path of vengeance. He joins the tracker’s alliance where he acquires invaluable skills and gathers information about the culprits of his family’s murder. There he learns that it was the disciples gang in neon who committed the atrocity, so he diligently heads to the city of sin and joins the strikers to exact his revenge on the bastards. And so he does, but to his surprise he finds out that the murder wasn’t just an initiation, but part of a much larger ploy by magnate and board director Ron Hope, employing different factions and gangs to create confusion and throw authorities off the scent of his real scheme to raise his stock’s value and save his company.
So it is that my character joins the Freestar Rangers and takes down the bastard along with everyone else even remotely involved in Hope’s plan and therefore directly or indirectly involved in his family’s murder.
After exacting his revenge my character goes into a downward spiral of hatred, alcohol and drugs, joining the Crimson Fleet, taking down SysDef and smuggling contraband. Running from the law he joins a mining crew to lay low for a while, which is where he meets a member of constellation for the first time. There he slowly learns to trust people again, the value of friendship and sees the error of his ways and seeks redemption by helping out in the discovery of the artifacts and helping people in need, turning his life around and becoming the hero of the story.
Of course this means that the opening scene and first couple of missions in the game are actually happening in the future, and the beginning of the story lies after those first opening missions when the main character joins the vanguard. Then after everything I just described comes chronologically the opening scene and the rest of the constellation story line.

I'm really enjoying what I'm thinking of as an "old habits die hard" character. A Neon Street Rat who escaped the criminal life she'd always known by double-crossing the wrong people and getting the Wanted bounty slapped on her. So, she went into hiding with some obscure mining outfit, only for Barrett to blunder along and flush her into the open again.
It's an exciting new opportunity, and she tries to go all-in with Constellation, but it brings the bounty hunters sniffing back around. And she can't quite put her criminal habits behind her either. Locks are begging to be picked, GalBank terminals to be hacked, and contraband to be smuggled, and it's only a matter of time before she gets caught.
Then, rather than doing time, she'll find herself reluctantly working with criminals again, settling back into her old ways a little too comfortably, and will face a tough choice on where her loyalties ultimately lie. (I still don't know which decision she'll make.)
It's been a lot of fun. I chose Space Scoundrel, but think Cyber Runner might have been a better fit. And while she's an Introvert and absolutely married to her little ship, Sundance, that Sam Coe fella does seem to have the annoying habit of setting her heart aflutter...

Ive played as a Bounty Hunter who fell in love with Sarah, but lost her to the Hunter. He eventually went theough the Unity to find her again.
My second character was an amoral ryujin operative who cared only really for power. Hes the one I took to NG10. He wants nothing but to become more powerful.
Now Im playing a former soldier whose just trying to find a place in the universe to call his own. He wont go through the unity, he wants only to help others and find a peaceful place to call his own.

I started Starfield intending to play as a dastardly smuggler but was led to going full pirate on arrest, then I ditched for a classic bounty hunter, with the benefit of understanding some of the game’s systems. Played both of those characters up to mid 20s in level before starting my current and main… Captain Bert, Long Hauler. Not sure why but I’m enjoying avoiding much of the main quest and heavy combat in favour of ordinary Joe RP 🤷🏻‍♂️

A good way to rank up your Stealth Build quickly with the Unarmed & Stealth Attacks (and even Pickpocketing) skills is to use an EM weapon on your targets first. If at some base taking on Spacers, Pirates or Ecliptic, use your EM weapons to knock them all out first and then run around in sneak mode pickpocketing all of them (and should they awake) you stealthily unarm punch them or melee them in to submission (which ever at the time you are trying to rank up). You will rank up real quick.
Only issue (although it is an easy fix) any weapons you pickpocket from a pirate (and others), will be marked as stolen... go figure.

Most all playstyles are variations of a theme, however, there are two that I think could be fun.
First is the "I'm just a trucker" where your job, moving stuff from A to B, is interrupted by pesky things like Terrormorphs, Pirates and Politicians (read that as CorpoRats). This is reminiscent of Big Trouble in Little China's Jack Burton. Early pickups of things like carry weight and light combat, piloting and shotguns. Then a lot of social skills like persuade, looting and commerce. This guy/gal could be an outpost maker or just a cargo mover, but has to go everywhere. Spaced would be a great trait along with Va'runn (parents left the faith after instilling the bit where you get stuff from grav jumping).
Second, I was thinking a kind of MASH 4077 doctor, travelling the stars to help folks with their difficulty. I have been considering the extensive use of pharmaceuticals to see if craftable meds and medical buffs are worthwhile in this game. I mean combat mods like aiming and resistances would be awesome. Their play would include some of the scientific concerns of the explorer template, but more geared towards the small settlements and their health. The thing is, there is plenty of loot to pick up and sell to keep a low maintenance person like this moving forward. Also, the idea of the powers and the impact on the person could be a focus. This is based on the Combat Medic background but expanded to make it viable.
Anyway, one each at a penny is my two cents.

yo so im playing through all the TES games and i noticed something strange... there is a main city in skyrim named Snowhawk... but that cant be right as just about 200 years later the whole city is just gone?! there is a small fort named Fort Snowhawk where the city shouldve been but there aint any information about there being a city there? and i cant find anyone talk about this and its driving me crazy! now of course the most likely scenario is that they just scraped the town in skyrim as in change of lore but would still be interesting if you would find something out as yer the best youtube channel for that sorta stuff!
