I love watching these old English towns and pubs you visit. I live in Norway and currently surrounded by ice and snow and the only bike activity I do now is using the battery tender from time to time 😅. The seat going back is a good thing as I think black was a better look for the Bonneville.
Great video Freddie! Love that you take us off on a little tour of the church! You are so right, if only we look around more and see these buildings that have so much history to them. Lovely music choices too.... Just what I needed after work! Glad to hear Monika is getting more weather - proof gear, heated gloves are a must!
Just want to echo Lynns comment. I like how you make your channel more than just the motorcycles. The activities you can enjoy riding is often overlooked and I like how Freddie and Monica act as a team bringing us along on their adventures. I rode my Moto Guzzi V7 to Orford, to see the castle last year. Unfortunately, it was under construction and completely wrapped up with scaffolding. That area is stunning. Thanks Again Guys...
Thanks! Absolutely lovely video. You are a very personable young man, gentlemanly. A nice change of pace in today's world. AND, you do have a beautiful country. It's especially nice that you show interest in your heritage. Over here in the US, the youngsters want to pull it all down and start over. I guess history started the day they were born. A ride with you and your friends would be a fine day...
Spent a lovely afternoon in the Jolly Sailor beer garden last year listening to live music. Orford is a lovely place to visit. Head over that way often.
There is a certain historic spirituality ingrained within your videos and much like the spirituality in that 700 year old church I find missing from our everyday lives.
1000 years old!!...i am so jealous of the real history you have access to...pretty little town...love it!..and i hear your still running that rattly exhaust..LOL...excellent video!...
I had an American friend over and showing the around London. We got to the Tower of London and told them that the oldest part of the Tower was the White Tower built by the Norman's a 1000 years ago. They then asked about a small piece of wall opposite the Tower and was that a 1000yrs old but I had to explain that was a piece of the Londinium boundary wall, built by the Romans and was 2000yrs old.
Hi , well a Fiat in the shot a Landy and a Bonnie, a good day out , with a promise of new kit for Monika . Thanks for your video and Monika , make sure the togs are battery heated .😀👌 👍👍
Love your videos but the opening of this one made me blink! Chillisford St Peter's is one of my favourite places on Planet Earth. The grass 'car park' is also used as a motorhome and caravan site and we use it regularly with our little mo-home. You have to be a member of the club to book it and they won't take more than five outfits at a time; but we've been there in the middle of Summer and been the only visitors for a whole fortnight. The Ness of Orford Ness is really interesting and worth the short boat trip to get there, if you like secret, mysterious military places. Nice one and great choice with The Jolly Sailor!
Great video as always, Freddie and Monika. Hope you went down to the waterfront? It is the best bit of Orford in my biased view, we sailed from there for several seasons, beautiful river, with tricky entrance and you can go all the way to Snape. Take Monika on the Lady Flo cruise from the quayside, and have lunch as your explore the river. Also we love the Chillesford church, and that new stained glass window. Next time you are looking for somewhere off the beaten track in Suffolk, head to Ramsholt on the River Deben, has one of the rare "round" or in fact oval church towers. Also good riverside pub - The Ramsholt Arms. Cheers Malcolm
We were literally 150 meters from the waterfront but for some reason didn’t actually walk down to it (we definitely will next time🙂). And thank you for the Ramsholt tip- I’ve just saved this.
For the "Jolly Sailor" category number 4, balletic tendencies, I believe the word you didn't know is "entrechat," which is a French term in ballet for jumping into the air and "beating" the legs (crossing them). Most often performed is an "entrechat quatre" (beating back and front twice, landing with the same foot in front as on takeoff) and "entrechat six" (beating back and front three times, landing with the opposite foot in front as on takeoff). The word probably comes from the Italian "intrecciare" meaning “to weave,” or “to braid." Famous English ballet dancer Wayne Sleep once performed an entrechat douze (beating the legs back and front SIX TIMES before landing).
I love the way you two take me back in time with rummaging about scrap yards finding bits to improve cars or old churches or good old British pubs top job by the way get your indoors rapped up

So many hidden gems in Suffolk… I’m off there tomorrow to a small village (Cratfield) to see a good friend. Well worth a potter out that way with Framlingham not too far from there. Good luck at the Crazy Horse saloon and btw Freddie….your brake fluid reservoir looked pretty low! Top it up and ride safely you two 💪

Great video, great scenery! Regarding the helmets, my thoughts are that if someone would want so steal a helmet for their own use, they wouldn't snip the straps because this would render the helmet more or less useless. So if somebody goes around and snips off the straps that person is a vandal and it's much harder to protect against that then it is to protect against theft...
Another great video. Love the tours of Old England that you and Stu Fillingham document. Beautiful country… Just ordered a Biltwell Gringo S. Godspeed from Texas🏍😎
Really great video. I will go to Orford when I go to England this summer with my Bonnie, for sure! Thanks both of you, its very entertaining to watch your videos. My favorite bike vlog. Nothing beats The British countryside, be it Wales, cornwall or lake districts or whatever.
It sure sounds like a lot of clatter coming from the engine when pulling into and backing out of the little church (beautiful, BTW). You might want to have someone check the valves and/or cam chain tensioner. Fortunately, the Bonneville designer had some mechanics on the team because they made those jobs incredibly easy to accomplish. You don't even have to pull the engine or anything arduous like that.
@@FreddieDobbs Well, as they say, it's only hard the first time that you do it. Get stuck in! 🙂 I would suggest doing a bit of research before embarking on the valve clearance job as there is a math involved. Not difficult, but tedious and requiring a micrometer and the proper shims if anything needs replacing. Checking the cam chain tensioner is dead easy, and IIRC, there's a group in England that specializes in selling the spring that needs replacing. it is literally just a single, easily accesible bolt that you remove and then measure the length of the spring that it contains. They fatigue over time allowing the cam chain to slacken causing slap.
Yet another great video Freddie. I left the UK 18 years ago for Australia. Your videos certainly take me back to my pub riding trips in my younger days around the South Coast. Miss a good English pub.
300 mile trip for us and over 5 hours. You should have gone down to the quay and taken a boat ride over the river Alde and checked out the Atomic Weapons Research Establishment on Orfordness. Steeped in history down there and a great place to visit 👍
Loved the video. That seat does not look comfy 2 up. Really enjoyed seeing Orford again. I was last that way 20 years ago researching a film on the development of RADAR in the 1930s. I know you love history Freddie, it is worth going back to look at Orfordness. Keep up the fantastic work.
I discovered there are 16,000 churches in England, which works out at 2,285 weeks of a church a week, which translates into 44 years of a church a week, crikey! Hurrah for Monica not going to feel cold anymore. Yes more chrome on the bike, get a chrome exhaust...
You can't beat Britain for little picturesque towns and beautiful countryside whatever the weather. I wonder what the bike was under the covers in next to the Defender. I do love the old churches too, it's nice to see them open and feel a bit of history, so much is being built over these days. The helmet lock is great until it rains while you're out walking😅 Great video as always, I do look forward to them.
Oi Freddie, I locked my both helmets on that kind of lock in the 90s in Tombland in Norwich. When I came out of Hy’s nightclub (sober not pissed) both helmets were gone after someone cut the straps………so me and my pal Jason road home without lids on😳😳😳, very different times then I think!!

I like the brown seat and 2 into one pipe! I suppose the other seat would be better for pillion filming though. :)
Really great video. I will go to Orford when I go to England this summer with my Bonnie, for sure!
Thanks both of you, its very entertaining to watch your videos. My favorite bike vlog.
Nothing beats The British countryside, be it Wales, cornwall or lake districts or whatever.
So glad you enjoyed it and I HUGELY recommend Orford🙂👌🏻👌🏻
13:31 I think you should to explore Maldon in Essex (and couple others places nearby) 😉
Greetings!
Thanks for this- I may try and do this myself. I’ve always assumed doing the valve clearances is way too difficult, but I may try!🙂

@@FreddieDobbs Well, as they say, it's only hard the first time that you do it. Get stuck in! 🙂
I would suggest doing a bit of research before embarking on the valve clearance job as there is a math involved.
Love the channel! Bikes are good for 1000 years as well :)
Okay, after seeing this video, I’ve changed my mind: get some new chrome exhaust because Monika will love it! 😂 Cheers!
Yet another great video Freddie. I left the UK 18 years ago for Australia. Your videos certainly take me back to my pub riding trips in my younger days around the South Coast. Miss a good English pub.
Hate to tell but pubs are slowly fading in the uk
Don’t skimp Monica… take him for everything he has… 🏍😂😂👍
Just started watching Shantaram after your suggestion. It's a treat.
I suggested it! You should read the book if you don’t wanna wait for the other seasons 😎
It’s great hey- I’ve just bought the book!🙂 Enjoy it!
I did wonder this too, but couldn’t figure out what the bike was🤔
This is true re the helmet lock- my day will come!😆🌧
Loved the vid Freddie and Monika!
Makes me jealous because I can't get my brand new bonneville out until spring 😫.
Enjoy you two!!!
I bet you’re counting down the days!😃🏍🤘🏼
Great as usual Freddie it's about time you go miss something warm lol 😂
Really enjoyed the video! you've made me want to get out on my bike over this winter. Keep up the good work!
Brave out in winter without a screen mate!
My FJR 1300 I just press a button to adjust the screen to suit conditions.
Jealous?😂
Another lovely Vlog❤️ I recently discovered your channel! Amazing cinematics and your presentation too! Love from India❤️
Nice ride out 🙂
Very nice. Love the church and the little village square. Would love to do this with my other half but she is yet to engage.
The Bonneville was my first bike Monika was happy to ride on. A comfy bike may make the difference👌🏻🏍🙂
@@FreddieDobbs My big old 150bhp, seat of your pants rocket ship is probably not the best starter bike for the boss 👀🤣
