As a mother of two in a long term abusive relationship i have watched hundreds of women survivors warrior women who survived give warning and share advice each story had something i could pick at and say oh see my situation isn't that bad it wont come to that...but listening to this was like looking in a mirror ... i am scared but thankful i choose my childrens safety and must stay away from him. Thankyou so much ...sharing this is saving lives.
God bless Mary Margaret for her courage and strength - and apparent ability to move forward with her life, for her and her daughters. I witnessed her professionally and she was one of the smartest and most gracious lawyers in the room. I am heartened, thrilled to see her - beautiful and healing.

Michael, now 62, is currently serving a 15-year sentence in prison after a jury found him guilty of attempted murder, first degree assault and risk of injury to a child in 2014. The judge ordered that he never again have contact with his two daughters. On Dec. 17, 2013, a jury also ordered Michael to pay Mary Margaret $28.6 million after she sued him for assault and battery and infliction of emotional distress. Ms.Farren , I am so sorry for what you had to go through.I am a man and a real man doesn't treat women like that .I think your ex-husband should have gotten life for what he did not only to you , but the emotional scars that he left with his own Children.Your a very intelligent and a Beautiful woman , and nobody , I mean nobody deserves anything like that .I am from the South and regardless of that I was raised to respect women and not to ever raise your hand to them.I am truely sorry for what you went through , not all men are like that.I pray that you have a wonderful life and that God will remove the emotional and mental scars from you and your Children.You are a beautiful woman and you still have a very beautiful smile. sincerely , Scott

Its so cool that her young daughter encouraged her. Its very satisfying when your own offspring motivates you to go for something you wanted but don't have the leverage to go after even though you want to, and their reminder is almost like a part of yourself speaking back at you to MOVE! Love that slice of the story.
Mary Margaret you're incredibly brave. I commend everything you did after that horrible attack from that coward. You're an inspiration too many I'm sure. I know I'm no one to you but to just read a reply or acknowledgment from you would be great.

Their role models were probably messed up ... your parents have the most influence when you are growing up. You may be prone to some mental disorders when you're born; they don't know all the answers yet.

I just cant get that they saw abuse themselves growing up , and are acting the same way towards women . I know of a story where the father killed the sons mother , and the son was still defending his father ! Because his father has money and power .
