Thanks for posting this!. Just finally finishing up an SNS. Have not splasted the boat yet. Will be sailing on Lake Sommerville here in Texas, locally.
I would love to see some video of your "Long Steps" build. How does she compare to the SCAMP? Which would you prefer for a Texas 200 or an Everglades Challenge. What is the speed difference? Would Long Steps be a good R2AK boat? Would you try it in SCAMP?
Oh man, that looks like fun! Phil, did you sail this Saturday Night Special in the Texas 200? I was wondering your overall impression of her. I am thinking of building one for knocking about Aransas Bay and eventually the 200. It's a great looking boat, looks quick but stable. Love the idea of a centerboard vs daggerboard.... Thanks for posting this video!
She was one of the boats to make it all the way to the finish. Estimate 12-15 knots downwind. One of the boats to tack up the channel to the first camp. Kind of a rocket, but stable.
I'll never understand the point of taking the time to posting a video about this boat and not bother to take two minutes to type in the description what kind of boat - designer, length, etc.??? What's the point?
I’ll never understand the need to criticism someone else’s post that you get to watch for free on a free platform about something you hopefully enjoy or wouldn’t be watching in the first place. The point is stfu and enjoy another great video of sailing.

Love these boats. Hope to own one myself one day.

With reefed sail & careful attention to tiller this boat surfs downwind very safely!
