Squirt's lookin good as always, Eric! I'm so sorry to hear about one man Chance. I can only imagine what the remainder of the trip must have been like for you. That's tough to go through. Really glad to see Squirt made it to the finish line. I bet Chance was a great pup! Fair winds my Texas 200 compadre. ⛵🤙

I've got a 19 foot "Buchaneer" Lake Boat. Stripped to the fiberglass hull. Tree fell on it 20 years ago. North Sails, Nice centerboard and trunk, tiller, rudder, Mast and rigging. Have been wanting to make the hull wider ~ wider transom. Now going for much more Narrow. Like a Canoe. Adding two AMA's and I'm on my way to sail with you. Thanks so much for this. Keep the faith. Until 2024! See you then! ✨🌸🌟👍🌟🌸✨. ~ from New Hampshire.

Fun project. You'll love a tri that size. She'll be big and powerful. Message me progress if you like. I just sold mine and picked up an O'Day DS 2. Fun little boat. Yeah, check out my other Texas 200 videos. Done it 4 x. Twice on Squirt, twice on a Cross 18 tri, Crosswins. All on my RUclips channel Texas 200 playlist. Cheers.

He was a honey. Still very much missed. Had a good life with me though as a two year old rescue. Boat is super well suited to the Texas 200 in my opinion. I'm 73 so have no desire to capsize, but enjoy a turn of semi speed too. She carries enough for a week off grid, and both points and of course off winds beautifully. Thanks for watching.

Great video Eric. Not sure I could have continued on sailing in those challenging conditions after that loss, not to mention faffing about with cameras and batteries, recharging batteries and managing micro SD cards. You have put together a nice video here

Was excited for all the sailing content but ended up walking away to just give my dog a hug, so hard to let them go. Nice tribute.

@@ericdahlkamp6781 I had to say good-bye to the small sheltie on my channel about 2 years ago after 18 years, the loss was stunning - I expected it to be rough (I've lost pets before) but I still break down during quiet moments of reminiscence over that one even to this day. We're 6 months now with the new dog and she's a great pal already, and always up for any hugs, even if they were inspired by memories of those past before her.

Very impressive - your boat, your seamanship, your video. And the Texas 200? always alluring but just a bit too far for me to get to.

Thanks for watching. Love your boat too. That thing is a cruiser! Yes, it’s a ways for me too, but I do it...well worth it. I endure the 3,400 mile round trip because it’s the only watery horizon sailing I do and reminds me of my sailing at home as a kid in Africa. Cheers.

@@ericdahlkamp6781 I hear you. Some year for a change, maybe you would like to head north instead of south and join us for the Elbow Run? Oh, btw I am on to a new boat - just about finished it and hope to launch yet this season. Cheers
