At some point close to the final partof this video, I started crying, much like when I saw Stone Ocean's ending. Not only have you made an incredible and very fitting analysis of a great work of art, but you also transmitted that undomitable feeling that is humanity. In a world where there is plenty of empty entretainment and media that empathises on the sense of inevitable present and future calamities, to hear words that reclaim the will and beauty of moving forward through hardship and the acceptance of even the worse parts of existance... It really moved me. Thnak you for this wonderful video. May you be well.
It's funny, I never wanted to touch Part 6 because of the ending. Mainly because I always felt like the erasure of the original universe felt like, at the end of Part 6, there was no point to the previous parts except to set up the ending. And yet, here you are, helping me realize why I should watch Stone Ocean. Heck, I can feel tears forming a little as I was watching it. Thank you.
I was wondering where this video went. Glad you uploaded it. I stick to my original point about Pucci not being as celebrated a Jojo villain as Dio or Kira. In that same vein Stone Ocean is the least celebrated of the anime arcs; mostly due to how Netflix initially handled it’s second batch release. I only hope now it gets it’s due. Because Pucci and the glory of Made in Heaven is truly among the most impressive and unforgettable moments to wrap up the original Jojo universe. For some people they may never feel the same after what they just witnessed. And that’s the beauty of art in itself: how it can change you emotionally and perhaps physically. I wonder how those who didn’t read the manga handled it and witnessed it in anime form for the first time!
I'm shocked to see such a small amount of views under a video that spoke to me so much. Thank you for offering us this unique perspective of the very core of Jojo, and even more so for the optimistic view of humanity as a whole. Though it doesn't erase the grief coming from the knowledge of how SO ends, it does aid to give the tragedy a greater meaning. Of course a few lives were worth the cause as they saved billions instead - but gods does it hurt, knowing what was lost and what could've been. If I do recall correctly, Araki confirmed that while Irene and the rest of the AU cast didn't have the memories of their original selves, they still felt the same intense love and connection to those they shared this journey with, making it a little easier to bear. Not everything was lost after all. They still persevered, however subconsciously.
