I also found out the Guidebooks have a surprisingly big cultural impact in Japan. I was reading random unrelated manga and references to the Portable G2 guidebooks would pop up.
I wish more of these were in English. I can read hiragana and katakana slowly but any Kanji used always has me pulling out a reference book. I would spend so much time on one page lol.
@@Oceaniz I would have to research more to confirm but I think Japan enjoys physical copies of items more than the West. I still see fresh vinyls being made over there so someone is buying them.

It feels good to see someone showcasing and gushing about their collection of extra material to a game or series they love. Especially since I'm going down the same hole with Final Fantasy XIV and its plethora of artbooks.
There's also a manga series drawn by hiro mashima, the creator of fairy tail, eden zero and rave master. There are even monsters that are exclusive to that series.
I just got complete works, and a lot of these other ones sound super useful, and just awesome to have. There's no way this shit ain't mad expensive lmao
I want and need every single one of these, oh my goodness. The frontier book looks so unbelievably classy and the monster hunter 1 guidebook has a very cool vibe, like it's a book from the world itself. I also enjoy the knowledge that the lore books are in-world perspectives of the researchers since it explains a bunch of stuff, like the Sunbreak gore lore that caused a bunch of dumb discourse.
Hella cool to see all this, recently got the first illustrations book shipped my way, wish I knew it was available in english though. Iconic nonetheless, an absolutely rad video!

Nice to see the Stories 2 artbook included. That and Complete Works are the two MH books I own. I can add that at least my copy of Complete Works started falling apart pretty quickly, so I guess there must be some poor quality control on the binding for what is otherwise a great book.
I knew that Monster hunter had one artbook and a manga, but I did NOT know there were this many wtf!!!!! =and a god damn lorebook?? My love for this series never stops to grow. I got the World Complete Works for Christmas, and yeah its as good as you say! I hope we can get translations for Iceborne, Rise, and Sunbreak lorebooks at some point too! Another note is there is a Monster Hunter manga named Monster Hunter Orage. I haven't finished it, but its a short 4 volume manga iirc. I'm not sure how it compares to Flash Hunter, but now I kinda want Flash Hunter!
As someone who's read both, Orage is the inferior product. Felt less like monster hunter as a manga and more like a stereotypical shonen anime with a monster hunter coat of paint. Flash Hunter does a better job of being "Monster Hunter" imo, and the art is waaaay better too. Orage is too off model.

Recently I found out that a friend has played some monster hunter games, and I know of it because of your videos. Well, the friend played a piece of music that is apparently from monster hunter, and I said I didn’t recognize it, and they were just like *how do you know about monster hunter*

A trick I learned when using books to prevent the spine of books from breaking is to Open it up and flip the pages from one side to the other from front to back and it helps with spine creases and might help with hard covers as well.

Very much focused on World - you get crumbs about the older games (like comparisons between Old and New World Raths) but i'd say its like 80% info on MHW only
