      Haha! True… I’ll have to add it in a follow up video! The win max is quite a bit thicker though so it’ll have to be a winter coat but I’m sure a few people will be surprised on the train if you pull out the win max and start working. Thank you very much for the continued support!

    I really would love this device if they had the screen increased in size and the bezel reduced. these two things are holding me back from wanting to purchase as this may feel older than it is after a year,.... who knows, they will release a new with the mentioned improvements and I'll be scratching my head. ----- awesome video as always

      Thank you so much for the comment! I was a bit hesitant with the original win max for several reasons including the screen size. When I read 133% larger i was a bit skeptic but even 33% would be nice. I feel that there is no practical difference between the two models... for gaming its probably ok but for creative work it can feel lacking. Hopefully the next model will address this and take it to another level! Other than the screen i was very impressed with the actual device! Thank you for the continued support!

      GPD Win Max 2 was just announced. Got everything you wanted from it and more! No pricing or details on release yet, though.

    Great video sir. I'm a huge fan of GPD, started with the Pocket 2 doing graphic design work for small businesses. Got the original WIN MAX about a year ago and now I have a better job that tried to give me a Mac, haven't turn it on, I just love having all my stuff on me all the time. Also great to see a video about the MAX dedicated to design and productivity as opposed to the standard "Will it run GTAV?!". Thanks for that.

      Wow!! Great to hear about your creative success with GPDs unique devices! I'm always happy to hear about other artists and creators using these tiny powerhouses to work just about anywhere! It gives me a lot of confidence we will see more and interesting devices from them hopefully with a creative slant next time. Do you also use the joysticks/buttons for shortcuts?
      Haha I appreciate the kind words and I hope to have more videos out soon! Thanks!

    Creative day job here, just wanted to mention that this video and your video on the P2 got me into a Win Max 2021 to use alongside my iPad Pro and it's been incredible so far. Im a fiend for a convenient, efficient setup alongside being able to have a handful of games on the go. Thank you so much!

      Thank you so much for the awesome comment! It really makes me feel these kind of niche videos are worth it! And I'm so glad to hear the setup is working for you! I also love the GPD/iPad combo because it kind of lets you get the best of both worlds when you need it, and if you can sit down they combine for some of the best mobile performance I've seen to date. A few people have been asking for more GPD related videos so i'll have to come up with a topic and make a video when I have some time! Thank you very much for the support!

    Great video, seriously considering buying this and selling my old laptop for a GPD Win Max 2021 (I'm in the creative industry as well, video/photo editor and illustrator). I have a PC at home so whenever I need to add vfx I can just do it there. Hope to watch more great content on GPD Win Max from you like how to setup those shortcuts and tips for drivers etc. Subscribed!

      Thank you very much for the wonderful comment!! If you go out frequently or just want to work from the couch it’s an excellent device! There are rumors of a new model in the works that could have Some pretty impressive specs! I’ll try to make some follow ups when I have time so thank you for the interest! Unfortunately/fortunately I have had a lot of work lately and it’s been difficult to make videos for the channel but I’m sure I’ll have something soon!

    The same issues you have with the win max, I have with the pocket 3. Seems like GPD does all their crowd funding the same way. But huge thanks to you I've been trying to find a review for the 1195G7 / 16GB combo specifically for creative software and you hit every question I had

    • @tsukepen
      @tsukepen  2 года назад

      Hello and many thanks for the comment! Even though I have owned GPD products in the past, I had never been an early adopter with the crowd funding campaign. The early bird prices are fantastic but the guessing games can be pretty annoying... They are still a small company so they have room to grow and I hope a better delivery experience comes with time, as ill probably be getting more of their products! The Win Max was a game changer for me as a video tool. The tasks I want to do on the go can be done with other devices but the gaming features, ports and form factor make this a great choice for creators! It's not going to be as powerful on the go as the new macbook pros but at a much smaller size I'm willing to compromise! Please let me know if you have any questions and once again thank you for the comment!

      @@tsukepen I wish I was in a position where getting it would greatly benefit me. Unfortunately since it’s only a luxury I may not go for it but I wish I could. That screen would be amazing and would make it actually usable as a laptop

    I’m looking for a portable small windows laptop to use for programs I can’t run on my macOS i narrow it down to surface pro 7+ 4g lte 8gb ram 256gb ssd for $500 with no keyboard or win max 2020 16gb ram 1tb ssd for $350 which would you recommend

    • @tsukepen
      @tsukepen  Год назад

      Hello and thank you for the comment! I think it would depend on the programs and your need from a device like this. The surface pro offers a pen and a very convenient package for drawing, note taking and typing but it doesnt always pack the processing punch of other form factors or the ports. The win max 2022 offers a lot of power and flexibility but the keyboard can be cramped for writing and activities like drawing would require an accessory.
      If you could tell me more about the programs and your intentions I might be able to help you further!

    You didn't even say or show anything about gaming as you failed to mention that it is also a gaming device

    • @tsukepen
      @tsukepen  2 года назад +2

      Hello and thank you very much for the comment. I'm sorry you feel that way, but at the very beginning of the video I did mention that GPD manufactures portable gaming devices and that while I don't do much gaming these days the hardware in the devices, including the very unique game pad, is great for creative uses. Just because a manufacturer intends for a product to be used for say gaming, does not mean it has to be used exclusively for that purpose. I also strongly feel that there are many reviews of GPDs products with a heavy focus on gaming but not many that highlight their potential in other areas. The win Max has changed the way I work and will continue to make videos in this fashion on any of their future devices they might release to hopefully help others in similar situations to mine.

    Too much money for these when you can get steam deck for half price and runs better

    • @tsukepen
      @tsukepen  2 года назад +2

      Hello and thank you for the comment. I think "runs better" is very dependent on the tasks you plan to do on the device. For creative use, a device without a keyboard isn't necessary going to be ideal even if it performs better with benchmark tests. Benchmarks are also we'll a benchmark for performance. Real world use is much more complicated and everyone's use case and software is different. I do my best in these videos to provide my view and experience on a product filtered through my workflow and preferred software, but it is not a one size fits all approach. It is always best to try products for yourself to see if they can handle the workload you need them too!

      Hello and thank you for the comment! As well as the personal anecdote with the steam deck, as I dont have plans to pick one up for the channel. While there are a lot of windows based handheld devices coming out lately, I still feel that GPDs products are the most reasonable for most people as they can be used for a variety of tasks and pack some of the best value for money. I'm very much looking forward to new offerings from GPD and appreciate the input!
