I’m not an analyst of any kind, and my Criminal Justice teacher would be telling me to remember that right now, but every time I look at a case involving kids, anytime I hear “that boy” “that girl” “that child” I hear “*that*”
To me it screams secret, deep rooted hatred or at the very least a highly strained relationship between children and parents. Something ridiculous sets it off and some one is dead.
In this case, “*that* boy” I’m also hearing “boy” in a way that’s very distant. Demeaning, like it’s almost some sort of insult. Not registering that that is his child.
There’s also the infamous Ramsey case. Hearing the background audio after the phone reconnected, it feels odd when I hear “I loved *that* child”.
I’m not sure that we’ll ever know who killed her, but that’s just very strange. Then again, “that” can be used to push a name out of someone’s mind in an effort to avoid emotional pain. Saying the name of someone you loved right after they have passed can hurt like heck. Especially if that someone is your very own child. It can also be used to push a subject out of someone’s mind to avoid guilt, which if the man in this case said the child’s name instead of “that” it could bring a tremendous amount of guilt.

There's no way the mother killed him and the father's innocent, but I guess if she had no alibi you could argue she helped? No sign of a motive, especially since she fought so hard for custody. I personally don't think she was involved. The photos are absolutely enough motivation for the father to kill tho, people have killed for even dumber reasons. I don't think any grown man wants to be questioned and humiliated over emasculating photos, it seems like the ex wife and all children had no idea about this and he wanted it to stay that way.
A grown man in feminine make up, in diapers, being submissive and eating someone else's feces. There's not many ways that conversation can go down well. For all we know the son mocked or expressed outright disgust towards his father and it provoked a violent reaction, not an excuse for murder, but people in a blind rage can do very bad things.
