    I have a step son who was 5 when I married his dad. The boy was very angry. Angry at me. At my daughter. He got violent. Tearing the house apart. Threating to stab or kill me and my daughter. It got hard. But I forced my love on him. One day he was so mad his dad had to work, he punched me in the face and screamed and did his normal tear everything out of the fridge, I saw him going foe my grandmas porclen dolls again. I grabbed him and held him and screamed " I LOVE YOU" for abt 10 min. Eventually he looked at me. And he just cryed. A year later, (there were issues with his mother not wanting him) he asked me to be his mom. I'd never been happier

      This is the kind of contribution to a sad story, I'm so glad to hear what you did, to understand what's behind his anger, and have held him and give him love, rather than react to anger with anger or admonishment. Takes a lot to do that.

      I had to have blood drawn. Took 6 Male nurses, 2 women nurses, and my grandma to hold me down. I threw them around easily until they all gang up...The doctor was the only one to apologize and stop it. The others including my grandmother took personally stating I was 8 and not a baby and to grow tf up. I was shaking and crying. I was that afraid of needles at the time. Keep in mind they had me also sitting and I didnt start to freak out until they lost patience and started trying to hold me down. Never forgave any of them. Went back for more blood, lady was there, asked her and my grandma rudely to go away or I am not going in the room. She started to get rude back, this time my grandmother stood up for me and told the lady to pack her attitude and get out of my face. The next nurse knew about what happened and reported all of it. The hospital sent me a letter of apology and fired them all.

      Under 2 years is normal for that because there are certain millstone for babies that are month by month. If it's like a 4 year old child then I think it's too far. I mean a 6 month old is much different than a 10 month old.

      You must be like 13 years old. It's normal to refer to age in months for under two years old. Plus if she's 20 months then she's not a year... it's like if my birthday were in four months but I'm already saying that I am 25. That doesn't make sense

    I don't know why everyone thinks an 8 year old is not capable of this. I wouldn't put it past an 8 year old to harm a small child to this extent, especially if the dad knew she would have violent outbursts. I also would have outbursts like that when I was like 8 or 9, and it drove my parents crazy. I would constantly leave bruises on my sister. I grew out of it eventually, but I don't think it's impossible for an 8 year old to injure someone.

    I believe this woman.....when they questioned the 8-year-old, she apparently seemed like she didn't care. She said she didn't know what happened. I seriously think this 8 year old is guilty. BTW: You can't put someone in jail unless proven guilty. They weren't even sure, and they just put her in the slammer. If there's a break in this case, that'll be a shame. The lady put in the slammer for 20 years, for nothing....

    I believe the stepmom too. My stepdaughter acted sadistic and psychopathic ever since I met her at 2 years old. No one believed me until they, personally, were around her long enough. I was afraid to leave her alone with my kids because she would go out of her way to hurt them with a smile on her face. Every time I tried to teach her why something she did was wrong, she made it perfectly clear she had a proper understanding of what I said, but she always seemed to use the information she retained later on to twist it and act badly. It was actually very disturbing and mentally exhausting. Don't forget that bad people were all once very young. Not all of them were just like heartbroken in their lives (or however TV shows make it look like) and become bad people. Some people are just very twisted in the head from early on. I can't say for sure, but at least sometimes i think they learn it if they observed unfiltered really toxic behavior from a parent or guardian. Kids watch everything.

    Assuming that she's telling the truth... (I personally doubt it, but ASSUMING she is...) then, as she and her husband have stated, they believed the eight year old to be violent, jealous, and malevolent. So, why on EARTH would you leave such a violent/uncaring/cruel child with another who could possibly be hurt by the first? Even if the older sister killed the toddler, I see Emily Defries as wholly responsible on the bare fact that she left two children alone: one who was helpless and the other whom she believed to be violent and explosive. That is fucked on it's own, let alone what I truly believe happened... which certainly doesn't involve another child.

My grandma and my mom were outside with my 2 siblings and other children. They didn't here a thing until I came outside crying and telling them I fell. Kids are loud af, and depending on how much the child weighs, the sound would not be loud enough to hear over children playing.

I grew up knowing kids who are violent and it is often from how they are brought up and how the parents deal or not deal with their kids' emotions. Though I am sure if the kids were fighting the mom would have heard. I say the parents should take full responsibility for their kids' actions. Though it really is just a very sad story for their kids and the little girl who lost her life. Though pointing fingers is not going to help much.

She should have never left any of the children unsupervised with the oldest child around. I would have security camera in the house and never leave her alone with the children until a professional says it is safe and is 16 years old.

    i believe her. her emotion seems so genuine. it is a mistake that there wasn’t a gate or anything, but she genuinely doesn’t seem like she ever wanted to hurt her. And it makes sense with the anger of the older daughter, she was only 8, she most likely didn’t understand how fragile toddlers are and took her anger out on her.

    I do not think Emily was responsible for Anna‘s death. I think it was the oldest daughter because in the tape Emily stated that Brandon‘s older daughter would have explosive tantrums and some other issues. And yes eight--year-olds are capable of doing a lot and as Emily said children around the same age have murdered their younger siblings.

    When I was a kid another child, one that was younger but still bigger than me, would repeatedly assault my 11 year old body and mind in ways most _adult_ woman fear. He was a 10 year old kid. Kids _CAN_ do absolutely terrible and disgusting things...but that doesn't mean the 8 year old sister did it. This theory is completely plausible, and it should be investigated, but it's still not a sure thing. Unfortunately we may never know for certain...However if this really is the case, if it's true that she did abuse and cause the death of her baby sister, she may be at risk of hurting herself and others...Children that commit serious offenses as a child are at a higher risk of reoffending, they're also more likely to escalate the severity and brutality of their crimes. Without treatment or intervention she could be a danger to herself and others...A prospect that is even more terrifying to say the very least.

    First question from 911 is “where is your emergency?” and she replies with “my stepdaughter fell down the stairs.” Often those tell a “story” to 911 with all the preplanned details to say. They don’t actually answer the questions being asked. It’s a sign of guilt or covering up what truly happened. Blaming an 8 year old is just messed up.

    • @DenaMarie90
      @DenaMarie90 6 лет назад +6

      Bridget McGaughey that was the most outrageous reach I’ve ever seen. Often times, someone in shock, isn’t hearing questions... her step daughter fell down the stairs and that’s where her mind was. I’ve yet to see many people call 911 and answer questions immediately in a crisis. It usually takes them a few seconds/minutes to get on track because the situation is shocking to them.
