    Long overdue for a complete redesign, Ford gives its biggest SUV in the lineup a full makeover for 2018. Highlights include an all-new chassis, aluminum body, reduced weight, more power, better MPG, and more room. It looks like a super sized Explorer now with the interior lifted straight out of the best-selling F-150. Buyers needing the capability of a full truck-based SUV should look no further but be prepared to pay a hefty premium for the newest large SUV in the segment.

    Good morning everyone! Just wanted to remind you this video was filmed while Sofyan was still dealing with his Bell's Palsy, so you will see the right side of his face is paralyzed. Not to worry though, he has made a full recovery since then. Thanks for watching as always!

    Considering the 3rd row is precisely what makes this SUVs special, its appalling how many people who review this 8 -seaters don't actually get into the 3rd row and give us info on how tall/big they are. Outstanding work sir.

    • @DragonKnightX12
      @DragonKnightX12 5 лет назад

      Alfredo Alfaro No it isn’t,almost every SUV these days has 3rd rows seats.
      What makes theses SUVs special is their their still trucks, still built on a body in frame platform with real 4x4 and plenty work capability.

    • @alfredoalfaro5000
      @alfredoalfaro5000 5 лет назад

      @@DragonKnightX12 Cramped 3rd rows you forgot to add. And though a few of these trucks are work-capable, they aren't designed for that anymore, that's what pick-ups are meant for.

    • @DragonKnightX12
      @DragonKnightX12 5 лет назад

      Alfredo Alfaro Eh, Heavy Duty Pickups are still focused by Light Duty Pickups are going in a similar direction.
      Outside of fleet and work trucks pickups, modern day men are pretty buying pickups over sports cars and luxury imports.

    I'm still driving my 2000 fully equipped Suburban with only 103,000 miles. I paid $30,000 for it brand new and custom ordered! It is ridiculous how much these things have increased. Both Ford and GM admits that these are the highest grossing margin vehicles they sell. They are gouging their customers. And we keep on buying them! Shame on you Ford and GM! And shame on you the customer for buying them, even here in Texas!

    • @jakes5530

      Jay G. You can knock $8-12k off the price of half ton pickup trucks, i would assume the same would go for these large suv’s since theyre based on them. A fully loaded xlt expedition which has most of the same features as this platinum can be had for about 62k, 10k off that is 52k. Not terrible considering the prices of non-domestic suvs.

      Jay G. So much stuff has changed over the past 19 years that you really have no clue of what you're talking about. Don't blame these manufacturers when they have the government putting stricter rules on them every year to be able to sell vehicles.

      Yea, 18 years of inflation, stricter government safety and emissions regulations, higher technology demand, more powerful engines and higher quality parts definitely shouldn't increase the price at all.

I do have one other comment though, you test drove a high-end 2019 Ram. I'm in the market for full size pickup and I drove a Laramie and the ride was horrible. The steering was very loose and it did not have great pick up. Conversely I've driven nearly every model of the 2018 F-150 and the ride is the same across the board. Very stable and muscular and fast. You may want to test drive another Ram at a lower price point without the air suspension. Just my opinion :-) Peace and blessings to you

    That is one nice SUV. Expensive yes, but well done. But with Ford you can spec them out to what you need or don't need. Very usable too, not just a people hauler, grocery getter but you could tow an RV or horse trailer. Nice review, and hope you are better soon.

    Halfthor the world's strongest man had Bell's Palsy really bad earlier in the year. I got it from falling asleep with an ear bud in my right ear while laying on my ear. It was over a year ago and I'm 98% recovered.

    Power reclining third row seats is a surprise. Ecoboost still sounds like doo-doo but excellent torque from such a small package...

    Can you get runningboards that remain extended while in drive? I'm interested in drivebys

    Excellent review! I look forward to your opinions on vehicles.
    I really like this expedition especially because of its fuel consumption versus how big it is. I just feel its way overpriced. The XLT is a good price and well equipped with the 202a package but where they get you is In order to get the enhanced parking assist and 360 camera and front parking sensors you have to go up to the limited. Which is part of another package putting close to 70k!
    I would not want to get this vehicle without the 360 camera, enhance parking or parking sensors due to how large it is.

      Christian Nieves couldnt have said it better. Other things you miss in the xlt is the heated rear seats and the front massage seats - neither of which are really needed, but still. That said, 65k is better than 77k any day of the week. Could also knock a chunk off the msrp too since large suvs and pickup trucks are automaker’s highest profit margin.
