Made these two nights ago. Sooooo good. I added sautéed onions and a bit of bbq sauce on mine but my husband ate them just like you did. The gravy was so good we had left overs on mashed potatoes the next night. Btw we are going camping again and smoking ribs and wanted a good smashed potato recipe. I "married " the Reuben made with corned beef to the Rachel made with pastrami. Then added Genoa salami and named it the Rubenesque. With the griddle on low lay down 2 or 3 thin slices of corned beef. Top with 2 or 3 thin slices of pastrami then about 4 thin slices of Genoa salami. Add some horseradish sauce, or your favorite sauce next. Then your sauerkraut topped with about a spoonful of chopped black olives. Cover with 2 slices of Swiss cheese. You may want to use a cover to melt the cheese. Butter the seeded rye bread with a sprinkle of garlic powder. Lay it down with a slice of Swiss on one side. Once your bread is toasted, add the meats to the slice with the cheese. Top with the other slice and gently press down. Plate it, slice it, and serve with dill pickle potato chips! I hope you'll try this! If you do please let me know what you think, good or bad. I won't be offended. Griddle On my brothers 💯

Adam, I am a Hardee’s mushroom and Swiss fan. There are recipes online. Those recipes use mushroom soup. The sauce is what sets them apart from all the rest. Have had a lot of restaurant MS burgers, not impressed. Yours looks good but as you said too thin. My wife doesn’t like mushrooms at all, so less chance on our Blackstone. You guys are still my hero’s!

That looks good but I am not sure about the gravy, even if it were thicker. Just some good old mushrooms works for me; however, if you ever want to make me one of yours I would certainly eat it.

Adam, I am a Hardee’s mushroom and Swiss fan. There are recipes online. Those recipes use mushroom soup. The sauce is what sets them apart from all the rest. Have had a lot of restaurant MS burgers, not impressed. Yours looks good but as you said too thin. My wife doesn’t like mushrooms at all, so less chance on our Blackstone. You guys are still my hero’s!

Use corn starch water to thicken the sauce and you will not get the flour taste.

Great job but I’m not big on the mushrooms like Bret. But I can cook the crap out of them. Try some minced garlic next time and let me know what you think adds another layer of flavor.

That looks good but I am not sure about the gravy, even if it were thicker. Just some good old mushrooms works for me; however, if you ever want to make me one of yours I would certainly eat it.

Ok. Here's my take. It looks amazing, but I have to say.. I am with Brett. I am not a mushroom fan. I would swap out the mushrooms and add crispy bacon. I have a great recipe for brown onion gravy, and I think that would taste amazing as a sauce for a bacon swiss burger...

You didn’t need to add more flour you needed to use less beef broth. If you had slowly added broth while it got thicker you would have done fine.
