Phil I'd love a wash and talk where you tell some stories from your business. Detail that pissed you off the most? A product that made you angry? Best customer experience? Your fav car brand to work on? A chemical company that always seems to impress you?
@@MirandaDetailing we all have "those clients".. people who cancel without even the courtesy of a call, or complain about "something you did" months before, or who don't follow the care instructions you gave them, etc. 🤬🤬🤬
I have two clients whose vehicles (a 2007 Toyota Tacoma and a 2017 GMC Acadia) that I coated with Gyeon CanCoat Evo. CanCoat Evo is basically a one year coating.. and we are going on year 2 with the coatings!
my new Camaro SS 1LE FINALLY came in yesterday. Was only a month late for delivery. Lastnight I did full decon and light polish and today I put can coat EVO on it. Has been in my cabinet for months and have been wanting to try it. One down side is that it seems this GM paint is sticky. I had a hell of a time removing the coating. Only other car I had that has had sticky paint like this was my 2012 Subaru WRX I had years ago
Nice Phil. Sponges are making a come back! I just got a couple of those Korean high quality sponges that Todd Cooperrider from Esoteric sells and believe me, they are great. I think you hit the nail on the head though with sponges. They are great for light dirt and maintenance washes (which is all I need 90% of the time) but you need something a little heavier like a quality mitt or microfiber when the dirt is heavier. The sponges do not scratch, are very soft, and hold soap and water well. They are NOT the old sponge you bought from Pep Boys in the 1970's/80's. They are also great for rinseless washing. Soft 99 also sells a couple different ones that are almost identical to the ones that Esoteric sells (I have the Soft 99 sponges also). The new Daytona Speedmaster Red Sponge from Autogeek is also very good. I actually prefer the smaller sponges like those over the BIG RED or BIG YELLOW ones out there.
I just got a 32oz bottle of hyper dressing at oreillys haven’t used it yet but can’t wait! I’ve been using perl & I still have 2 gallons left of P&S dynamic sitting there lol
That’s really impressive. Like you say, coatings are not bulletproof, but it looks great. And I use DeScale as part of my strip and decontamination wash. And I put it through my foam cannon. Great product. Another awesome video. Till the next one.
Excellent video, comments and advice...I, like so many I'm sure, love the realistic appeoach you take when detailing..being honest and realistic about expectations is important and that's one of the main reasons I look forward to watching your videos...if someone asks me what my opinion is on something and I don't feel like explaining it I always refer them to your channel because chances are the information I provide came from one of your videos...
I've never tried the P&S interior dressing... As an enthusiast I use Pearl 4 to 1..Its pricey, but for me a bottle lasts years..different for a business
Why would a customer choose a one year coating over a 3-5 year coating, especially since the prep work to apply the coating is the same? All the work on our end is in the prep. The application of the coating is the easiest part of the process.
Hi. Well cost makes a difference to them. Thanks give them all the details and prices and they choose what they want. I don’t try to sell them something they don’t want or need.
@@MirandaDetailing so what would be your typical cost difference to the customer be in this one year coating vs a 3-5 year coating? I realize the cost difference in the product being used is a factor but again, all the labor to get to the point of applying the coating is the same. Trust trying to get a better understanding here on pricing these options to customers.
Excellent questions! So the difference in price is about $300. Our one year coating service starts at $1000 our two year starts at $1200 and the 3-5 $1500. But yea the process is the same I just switch out the coatings and use better ones with each service upgrade.
@@MirandaDetailing Thank you for sharing this information! This is exactly what I was looking for. Obviously, pricing is also different geographically, but this is great information! I have been applying 3-5 year coatings from $800-$1200 depending on the size of the vehicle. Sounds like I may need to adjust these up a little to be able to offer a 1-2 year coating for less and still maintain a good margin on my labor. Thanks again and keep the content coming!
Hey Phil, Sam with Freedom Detailing down in Florida. New business but over 20 years of detailing. Love the channel man so please keep doing what you do. Quick question, what is the nozzle tip you are using on your gun? Looks like mine but your fan is tighter than mine.
Another great informative video...thanks!! Quick question, is it ok to do an APC Rinse on a ceramic coating to remove road film and bring back the gloss/protection? Oris thereafter shampoo or something else that you can recommend? Much appreciated!✌🏻
Hi. Thanks. I like to opt for a High Ph Soap like KCX Super Foam to deep clean the paint with a coaitng. but only if needed. The APC risne may be a little too aggressive for coatings.
CarPro Perl 1:1 is awesome on tires.

100%! coatings are definitely more durable but they do need regular maintenance, great video Mr. Phil 👍🇨🇦
Another awesome video/tutorial/update good friend
I use 3d tire shine, but I really like the way the p&s looks. I big p&s users.

superior products aqua gloss is a my favorite water based tire dressing, affordable and dilutable.
Cool video. Have you made video using Descale? Like to see you use it and give your feedback. Essence plus too please. Hi wife!

I have same dilution for interior. I gives too much gloss and sun glare. I just use for engine bay or exterior plastic
@@moneyparhar same dilution of PERL or P&S?
Nanoskin hyperdress is the same as meguiars without the sent
Hey you guys, where can I find the black and gray pump sprayer you used on the wheels? Thank you 😊

Nice video Phil and you should in every video show what coffee you are drinking
I see u store coatings in refrigerator. What temp u keep ur refrigerator at?
Hi. Yeah I keep it like 1 notch from the max. It doesn't have a temp gauge, just numbers 1-10
can a newly painted car be coated with ceramic coating
Hi. Yea after 30-60 days the paint is cured and can be coated.
That's awesome performance!! Is there a consumer grade ceramic that claims 5+ years?
I know right! Well There are a few different coatings that can get up to 5 years, like Gtechiq CSL, Gyeon Syncro, and System X Coatings

Tree sap how do I get off safely
Try isopropyl alcohol. The strongest you can get. Spray it on a soft microfiber towel and gently dissolve the sap with that.
@@MirandaDetailing Also would you try super clean as a apc wash 10:1or 15:1
Yeah we use still use super clean usually 1:4 or 1:10. But we usually pre rinse the vehicle also if it’s in the hot sun.
