The thinsulate seems to cut the highest frequencies down the most, which is what I prefer most. I think I'm going to try and get some of that and test it out in my builds. Great video.
I have poron foam on my own kb, really liking how it makes the sound more bubbly rather than dampening it all the way down, happy I made the right choice there ^^
for those who can't get thinsulate, you can use polyfill instead. Thinsulate and Polyfill are both made of polyester, they just come in different forms and thinsulate just has a thermal insulator material and squished thinly hence the name thinsulate. Either way, both of them make your keyboard sound deeper and low-pitched.
I like the memory foam the best. It seems like it dampens it alot and gets rid of the higher pitch which I like. I wonder how much the desk surface affects the sounds as well. This was great comparison video though. Thank you for this!
memory foam seems to be taking out alot of sound, as if the impact of the switch is completely being absorbed by the foam and not vibrating the case and the desk through the impact
Nice thanks for the comparisons. I decided to throw out the crappy thin pe foam included in my rk61 and add some memory foam that was in my pillow. It made a pretty big difference :D
What would I pick out of poron and thinsulate. I have a tofu 60 that I’m gonna o ring mount and it has a pc plate. The switches I’m using r lavenders. What do you recommend
I could really tell a difference between memory and Thissulate, but I had a hard time telling the difference between Thinsulate and Poron. I think I'm going to put memory foam in my gk67. Great video! Thx.
That sir is a good keyboard, sounds best without foam. If I had to choose a preferred foam sound, it would be memory foam (spacebar is the biggest difference).
Poron really seemed to mute the vibrations, but ultimately, it's the switches themselves that would fix a larger amount of key noise vs just a dampening insert.
I'm afraid to buy keyboard foam because even without the foam your keyboard still has the thock sound but my gk61 sounds cheep plasticky and the keys have a little bit of a shake does anyone know why or a solution
Any one of them is miles better than none at all. But direct side by side I would pick thinsulate personally, but it really doesn't win by much over the other two.
none of these stick to the bottom housing surface. use something like sorbothane (or silicone tape) that actively sticks onto the bottom housing so it absorbs the ping-y resonance.

Yo thx this helped me😊
All of dampened sounds good IMO. But if i gotta choose, i'll take Thinsulate & Poron.
Yea, people who like the memory foam are probably listening on laptops.

super helpful, trying to test different types of foam for my friends and I. Very nice video, nice edit too

Thank you, that is a very good comparison Video and could be very helpful in the Future!
Based on your wonderful vid, I like how thinsulate and poron sounds
Very nice sound comparison, like very thorough with the back and forth.
The thinsulate sounds so good. Less hollow compares to the no foam one, and deeper sound compares to the others.
Which sw ur using btw?

I agree, thinsulate foam was my choice as well
thinsulate sounds the most thoccy to me

I was trying to determine which foam I should go for, so this video was really helpful! Thank you so much!
No problem!😍
thank you so much for the comparison. This is exactly what I need to know
Is thinsulate okay for dampener? I afraid it will get too hot for the keyboard
I am for sure subbed my dude. Great explanation and quality comparison.
Thank u😜

I love to use packing foam myself, really takes a lot of the higher pitched tones out though it can be somewhat thick at times

Sound comparison ! Easy to follow
Poron or memory foam for me! I wonder how silicone sounds compared the the foams…
Thinsulate is the winner for sure
i can't see the diference of the memory foam to the poron foam
I just built my k80 and im loving it without any foams
Unable to buy from your website! Payment option doesn’t work
Superb video, well done!
Can I cut my tshirt and put it inside keyboard
Tbh picking one is hard but to put my opinion poron and thinsulate sounds pretty good.
for my preference like the thinsulate for this build the best!
I'm torn between the thock of the thinsulate and the sound profile of the poron foam.
Honestly as long as you're using something to dampen the sound you're fine. I'm using some 2mm thick EVA foam to dampen the sound of my keyboard.
I'm afraid to buy keyboard foam because even without the foam your keyboard still has the thock sound but my gk61 sounds cheep plasticky and the keys have a little bit of a shake does anyone know why or a solution
I use cotton first aid may be close to Thinsulate?
Perfect comparison! Thx!
Veryyyyy well made video... Very nice... Needed something like this
Thank u💕
should have done all three
Why all space bar sounds amazing good

u can search on youtube how to do stab mod.
THAT SOUND IS SO AMAZING
Could I use amazon packaging to dampen
How do i make my keys silent but deadly tho???? Those are all cancerous
it is okay to use yoga mat as sound dampening material? cuz i have so many of them laying around
did the memory foam help with the case ping the most?
Would a poron or rubber case foam be better for a deeper typing sound or what people call “THOCC”?

what do u think about EVA foam

I think the thinsulate is the best in removing that "bop" sound in the lower frequencies.
hey, i have unrelated question. But can you use that poron foam as a plate foam? is it safe to sit on top the pcb? thanks
It is the most common material for pcb foam
your keyboard is so beautiful
i like poron cause the spacebar sound really nice :>
what do you think about silicone mod vs foam?

I am listening with a bass boosted speaker, and thinsulate is the thocciest out of em all.
Memory and Poron sounds the similar to me
This is nice reference.. Thnx

Now I know I’m officially old because all 4 sounded equally annoying! 😁👍
Kinda weird how nobody has tried purple
go plateless and use a sheet of cloth between the switch and the pcb, you will notice more improvement in sound.
OMG! Thanks for reminding me, I have a roll of acoustic fabric in my closet! You rock!
True true, similar to the PE foam mod but with no plate. It does wonders.

I'm thinking memory foam.
I prefer Thinsulate since it produced lower pitch/frequency hehe
Has anyone used yoga mat foam? Wanna get some insights. I dont have any airy packing foam right now but we do have a ton of thin yoga mats.
If it's between 1mm - 4mm you could try.

Thinsulate sounded the deepest.
Poron seems good
anyone use old mouse pads?
Poron foam kinda gives more thock into the keyboard in my opinion

will putting foam in the keyboard case increase latency at all?
no, foam is sound insulation, it wouldn't effect the actuation of a key, or the electronic signal.
Why would it?
