This episode would've made it but they outright talk about and debunk the scaling used, and don't actively go into it. However if you go with Falcon scaling to Black Shadow at 100 Megatons VS Johnny scaling to Raiden at 270 Tons of TNT, then the difference is 370,370 times. Which would be the 18th biggest stomp. Dracula VS Ganondorf. They compare them to planet and universal power sources but it's super weird because they just compare that to the size of the batteries they'd have access to. Not overall power. Some might want to go with it for power though idk. Another thing that has always irked me was the logic of “well they defeated a character who once punched the moon, therefore this character also has the strength to punch the moon, regardless to how exactly they beat them”
Yeah, and it's the same story with speed. They claim that "Well, so-and-so defeated a character who can run [very big number] times the speed of light, therefore, so-and-so can move faster than [very big number] times the speed of light." Despite the fact that in reality, so-and-so tricked said fast character into running off a cliff to their death or some shit.

Something I find hilarious is the "Guts vs Nightmare" fight. They say like "Yes Nightmare was faster, stronger, more adaptable, way tougher, had better techniques, and so on... but Guts beats people better than him all the time, so he could easily beat Nightmare" by that logic, Guts could beat literally anyone.
DC writers making characters: So he's like a guy from new York with super speed. Oh yeah he can also *nuke the infinite multiverse* just because I said so.
every death battle with a DC character is guaranteed to be an instant skip for me, because I know for a fact DC bullshit just makes the fight animation unfun.

Although it isn't a number, I have a problem with Death Battel taking Venom, a symboite with a known weakness to sonic attacks, & putting him against Crona, who's specialty is sonic resonance. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't sonic resonance a sonic attack? Even more annoying is the fact that the only reason is that the people over at Death Battel noticed that both Crona & Venom attack people with black tendrils. A fine reason to put Venom up against someone who's guaranteed to beat Venom, I guess.
Scout Vs Tracer is a pretty unfair battle in my opinion. They used cinematic Tracer (unlimited blinks, no cooldowns) whilst they used game Scout (cinematic Scout can take several rockets and be fine).

He has no means to kill Alien X, and there are various aliens within the watch that are world killer and higher in level that he has access to as well besides Alien X.
They led Batman to the slaughter like three times. 1, Spider-Man, 2 Black Panther (to me I wanted to see that also, but afterward watching it was just plain unfair he’s a guy fighting wearing a full suit of adamantium armor he can’t penetrate that), 3. lastly was the recent Batman vs Ironman. Then there’s battles where you can just obviously tell who’s going to be victor just by reading what DB has pinned together like the obvious Black Canary vs Sindel.
As a Scout main, when I first watched Tracer vs Scout I nearly died. Scout STANDING STILL and shooting while Tracer gets infinite blinks. Absolutely disgusting.

What are these arguments? Ben couldn't stop the Annihilargh from going off in the first place because Bellicus said it was too late to do so. It was way after when he used Feedback to stop the Annihilargh from going off again. They never said the omnitrix wouldn't be fast enough to transform him before limb removal, they said it technically hadn't shown direct defense from limb removal. This argument gets taken out of context so much. They even gave the calc for the Q&A but that Hal's fastest activation for the power ring was still way faster. That's straight not what they said tho. They said X hadn't shown defenses against time manipulation.

The universe isn't one mass of things that naturally connect for a chain reaction, it's a collection of celestial bodies that exist independently of each other. We clearly see that a bunch of the universe is still left by the time Bellicus mentions people are screaming and Ben finds out the Annihilargh has already started.

Link Vs. Cloud. Nothing changed for Cloud, but the some how majorly nerfed Link even though with everything "new" for Link would have just made the gap even bigger.
One example is Mario vs Sonic. As athletic Mario is and as useful as his powerups are, they aren’t enough to beat super sonic. The original fight reflected this, but the rematch basically said that help from a star man can apparently lead to victory against Hyper Sonic which is suppose to be more powerful than super sonic

Basically all 4 Alicorn princesses Celestia, Luna, Crystal, and Twilight are demi-goddesses that are basically to an extent the physical representations of a aspect of Equestria, Celestia represents the sun, Luna Celestia's sister represents the moon, Crystal who is also Twilight's sister-in-law via marrying Shining Armor Twilight's brother represents love, and Twilight herself represents magic and thus has abilities connected to said aspect they represent and in Twilight's case this means a near-unlimited magic pool to draw from the only this ultra-massive magic pool gets drained is by someone who is equal to Twilight in power, and the ability sense magic, and if need be seal someone's magic away though she only does the magic sealing as a last resort, she's also got near-unlimited stamina as in her battles against Sunset Shimmer, and her evil alternate counterpart Midnight Sparkle Twilight was stated to be able to battle for as long as she wanted to. As for what they barely touch upon the battle against Tirek that temporary boost was nothing to scoff at as when Celestia, Luna, and Crystal temporarily gave Twilight their powers that meant they also gave Twilight the abilities, and powers connected to the aspects they represent which Twlight could also manipulate the sun, manipulate the moon, and control the aspect of love, and also the fight against Tirek showed that Twilight via her training with Rainbow Dash is a decent martial-artist. Twilight is also a tactical genius, and a master detective, along with being able to use her spells, and powers in very creative ways this is due to Twilight being really really intelligent. And as for Rainbow Dash being able to beat Starscream DB clearly stated that was Gen 1 Starscream who is a cowardly idiot meaning yeah Rainbow Dash would have no issues taking him down now Armada/Micron Starscream, and Cybertron/Galaxy Force Starscream that's a different story as those versions aren't just cunning individuals they're also decent warriors in their own right.
One of the most unfair was probably one of the recent episodes. Homelander versus Omniman. The power levels aren't even comparable. Homelander might be the most powerful in the boys universe boys universe but he doesn't have anything of anything on Omniman. I'd really like to see Homelander in a fight where he stands a chance of Winning!!!

None of this even matters though since Omniman is way stronger being able to create devastating explosions from flying so fast and such it’s not even close. Also if you wanna bring up lasers Omniman has survived much more powerful lasers.

Flash vs. Quicksilver was such a stomp that not even diehard Quicksilver fans expected anything but a Flash win. We're talking scratching the speed of sound to dunking on the speed of light.
I remember the main 3 that stood out to me 1) Scout vs Tracer, Scout's taunt kill can one shot a heavy and send him airborne, he uses it on Tracer, it lands and she survives? 2) Crash vs Spyro specifically because they said they'd pull data from their original 3 games and then used feats from Spyro's later games 3) Yang vs Tifa but that's mostly cause Yang had only existed for one season of a show she was a supporting character in and stomped an incredibly well known fighter (also the fact they joined Rooster Teeth VERY soon after is a bit odd)
Actually she was in for three seasons during the Tifa fight. To actually understand feats that yang has you need to watch the show. Or try throwing a human sized object through the ceiling of a school with such height that it takes a full three minutes to hit the ground. And yang survived survived with barely a scratch. Same thing with a 2 foot thick cinder pillar and walked away like it was nothing

Like I said said was rooting foryang, mostly only because I like her more, but also her voice actress for her actual show played her in the death battle, so I was just happy these two got to fight. At least for me, unless I know exactly what both fighters are capable of, I usually just take my favorite characters side to root for them to win but otherwise at the end even if they lose, Im usually like 'huh, okay I didn't know they could do that.' the scout VS tracer was bad enough that they had to enforce the rule that the animation is unconnected from the data gathering they completelly screw up everything in there. I don't argue the final result, as traces kit is a bit more consinstent than scout's and with more raw output, but the animation was completelly out
The truly most unfair, somewhat surprisingly, was Darkseid vs. Thanos. And I mean, by far. The reason has nothing to do with specific calculations as such but rather simply the fact that Thanos needs the Infinity Gauntlet to be able to compete with Darkseid, and the only way to win a Death Battle is to kill your opponent. Since the only way to truly kill Darkseid is to confront and somehow destroy his true form in the Fourth World, and since the Infinity Gauntlet canonically only works in its own universe, that's ... it. It's just over. Like, sure, Thanos could remain in his own universe for an arbitrarily long time and avoid dying at Darkseid's hands as long as he retains the Infinity Gauntlet, but he could never win that way as winning is only possible by killing your opponent. At best, Thanos could try to stalemate indefinitely by avoiding confronting True Darkseid in the Fourth World, but given an infinite amount of time, the odds of him being somehow separated from the Infinity Gauntlet and/or tricked into the Fourth World also begin to approach infinity. Literally, the problem with that fight is that only one of them had _any way whatsoever_ to fulfill the win condition of "kill your opponent." In most Death Battles, the loser "could" conceivably win but just would be unlikely to, but in that one, it was actually _impossible_ for the loser to win. _Ever._
@@joshmerchant8737 I was honestly surprised, though. Going into that Death Battle, I didn't know all that much about either character, and I just sort of thought they were fairly equivalent in power. The actual disparity and degree to which Darkseid is simply beyond Thanos caught me totally off-guard.

Unpopular opinion: Mitsuru Kirijo VS Weiss Schnee was kind of unfair. Weiss SPECIALIZES in ice magic. Mitsuru is IMMUNE to ice magic. Mitsuru fought alongside other members of SEES to fight *death itself and lived to tell the tale.* Meanwhile... Weiss is known by the community to lose a lot of the fights that she gets into. Yeah, Weiss didnt stand a chance honestly.
I was surprised that Mitsuru vs Weiss didn't make the list even as an honorable mention, sure she didn't beat Nyx but she helped in the fight against a God, Mitsuru is far more durable without using a forcefield to take damage for her like Weiss and they make Weiss summons considerable faster than they are in the show, while personas take no focus at all to use she using summons is by far getting some free hits on her
They have a big habit of doing that, placing characters against their literal counters and sometimes even having them win through some bullshit or another.

@@wildste I've seen them. To me its moreso that there's not really a reason to assume that the Sotoboro Effect is an all encompassing time sense. Especially given that Ben 10k said that it's a ripple caused by Chronosapiens and Ben uses it to detect the Chronosapien timebomb. There's been times where all 3 versions of Ben were time traveling and the others didn't know about it, which is especially interesting that Ben 10k didn't even know Eon was still alive. I am kind of spit balling here but we've also never seen Ben use his aliens to time travel, only time manipulation.
My biggest annoyance of that fight is that they didn’t take the abilities of the Omnitrix itself into account. The device itself outright _cannot_ be removed by force, including chopping of the user’s arm. It will do everything in its power to prevent that from occurring. In this case, it would probably turn Ben into Goop. It requires a number of specific overrides to be said, by either it’s creator or user, to actually come off. That, and they used COMPOUNDED versions of the characters, notably having a Classic Era Ben with a Final Model Omnitrix and a Hal with *checks notes* _literally every ability every rendition of the character has, along with feats of alternate Lanturns that Hal has literally never been shown to be capable of._ Beyond that, Ben should just stomp, because of the Omnitrix he’s basically immune to anything Hal could throw at him thanks solely to the Omnitrix’s failsafes.
I feel like Ace vs. Natsu could have been mentioned here. I know you were going mostly by numbers, but you have a dude that only attacks with and is made of fire vs. a dude who is not only immune to fire attacks but can eat it to regain power. Ace had no hope of winning.

The problem with death battle's stats is that they're biased. They literally dont even try to hide that anymore, they purposefully ignore shit from the lore just because they wanted one person to win over the other.
I feel like they’ve gotten a lot better with that over time. Though there definitely was a long period of time they had a big bias problem, the more recent wave of death battles have mostly seemed fair and well researched, and anything they don’t mention is just cause it wouldn’t have changed anything anyway.
@@SKsuprakirby My biggest problem with death battle honestly. With characters from very compact stories, their power scaling is very consistent. Meanwhile, some other characters (particularly comic book ones) have had a bunch of different writers giving bullshit powers, and then based of that, make some ultra bullshit character out of them, which is why superman is terrible in death battle
One thing I've realized after a number of these is that it's really rough trying to compare things from different universes because some settings have a style that only works on planetary power levels while others are happy at city level. Ridiculously unfair and, in my opinion, not to entertaining when you try to put real numbers to what is mostly an aesthetic-based feat of power.
also different logic. scrooge had a huge advantage against shovel knight because his comic series will occasionally defy reality for a gag (they themselves cited such a comic where he tosses a coin across a lake, rows across the lake, then catches the coin before it lands. that gag was just a play on his classic scottish frugality). given enough time in such a setting, anyone can perform ridiculous feats
Sometimes the character did something like, blowing a planet, once, because the writer went nuts, and never do it again ever, but it will be always considered as a power level of the character

This is the only channel that i believe actually gets the death battle analysis correct. Since this entire genre (versus debate) is extremely opinionated you can't really say any DB is wrong outright but only wrong when considering their own standards and analysis they pick a winner that in their reality didn't stand a chance. Well, there really was no scenario where each had their typical level of power where Quicksilver could win. Against Jay Garrick maybe, but not Barry. Not without removing the speed force or buffing Quicksilver with it.
Actually, they are correct about that. The flash feats are 100 times above quicksilver. There is no way quicksilver would win against flash. Keep in mind I'm a dc and a marvel fan saying this. So from an unbiased point of view, flash would and always will win.
They said this because Quicksilver in essence has the exact same power as Flash except weaker and less versatile. Not necessarily because the difference in power is so massive that Quicksilver can't overcome it (even though it pretty much is) just... he has absolutely no edge anywhere over Flash. His only noteworthy ability is speed, and Flash is faster as well as more versatile. There's nothing Quicksilver can do that the Flash can't do the same or better, unless you wanna pit him against an extremely weak Flash like Jay Garrick. That's pretty much the end of the story for Quicksilver, he loses because his powers are less stupidly unfair.
Here's a bit of a funky one. Sam Fisher vs Solid Snake. While not unfair by simply a raw statistic that one excels at, it's unfair by the simple fact that Snake has had access to commanding the sun to kill people, Octocamo, a suit that prevents thermals from seeing him, thermals of his own, and just... the Big Boss mask. Sam Fisher, meanwhile, is the epitome of an average guy. He may be an amazing espionage operative, but Snake simply has an answer for anything Sam can do. Even considering Sam's bullet-time-like ability seen in the later games, Snake's durability is far beyond what a normal man should have access to. The only potential way for Sam to win, would be by preparing a trap and using it (without seeing him bc BB mask) to maybe do a bit of damage to Snake.
Sam's Footprint tracker wasn't taken into consideration either (Blacklist), he should of not fell for the Box. There was never really anything asides TPP confirming the Sneaking Suit silences footsteps, but NOT that it'd leave foot prints. Based on design alone from what was known, Fisher had more gadgets that would make it easier to track (along with equipment to hear easier, which was not showcased at all). Now Snake WOULD win regardless, but I feel like this should've been a battle of who can out-stealth each other, with most of the important equipment (INCLUDING the following goggles: EMF, Sonar, Ambient Sonar), all of which are outright not thermal. Even Snake is unable to control his breathe like his buddy "Quiet" in TPP. I don't know the whole strength and speed stats the dude in the video is talking about (I haven't watched DB since this one), but Fisher *should've* won until he made a mistake where as Snake wasn't going to make a mistake unless he ended up on the hunt for Fisher. With the gun scene, I also believe Fisher could've had his magnetic crossbow which would've taken Snake out the fight even with his resiliencies.
It was an anime character vs. a character derived from novels based on realistic depictions of actual real-life operators. If you compared game play mechanics and not anime ramblings in cut scenes, Sam would have won easily. No actual person can crawl through microwaves and not just get cooked. Being skilled or physically tough won't stop the cooking process.
Keep in mind as well Yang has not even fight anything other than humans, some not even have fight skills, and Grimms, who are at the best mindless monster and at worst mindless animal, so of course she can beat someone like Tifa who experience warrior who fought alien rejects, Sephiroth, monsters, robots, clones, and even warriors from other worlds.

Something I always HATE is when they match up an opponent Vs an opponent that is straight up invincible, it makes the whole matchup pointless when you just go "has no way to hurt them"
True, some battles are complete stomps. There's no denying that. But at the same time I feel like a lot of people watch death battle because they animate these cool fight scenes that a lot of people want to see. DB's patrons also vote a lot of battles so to some extent the community sometimes wants to see complete stomps. But that's my opinion.
My favorite controversy is when screw attack claims seeing faster isn't a thing. But Raiden vs wolverine Raiden can "slow his perception of time" which is pig Latin for he can see faster. Also Raiden defeated a man who can break metal by yelling at it and destroyed a super tank by chopping it to pieces with a building sized knife faster the naked eye can perceive. I know wolverine is a tough dude but a man who can perform stealth assassinations with a building should not be placed in a tournament.

Surprised that Flash Vs. Quicksilver wasn't on here. The number I can find for Quicksilver's top speed is 2050 mph. while flash can run fast enough to warp time and reality itself. Something that we have no idea what level of power would be needed to achieve. Flash is more than capable of breaking the speed of light, and was also shown to be able to run around the world at least 3 times in a single second. So even if we low-ball and call that Flash's to speed, that would be 268,930,800 mph which is 131,185.75609 repeating times faster than Quicksilver I don't remember the numbers given in the episode, but I knew before I even watched it that that was probably the most one-sided fight they've ever done, up to that point.
Also have to remember that "The Flash" isn't just one person. Barry Allen has done some impressive things, but IIRC it was Wally West who traveled across the known universe FASTER than instant teleportation.
How? Hercules literally throws building sized titans into space, that's way more impressive than cutting through buildings. Sora was fighting and taking hits from the guy, the scaling is what makes it more impressive.
Plus they also got Sora's laser feat entirely wrong. It didn't go to the moon, but only about 5 feet in front of him because of the context they blatantly ignored. Wouldn't really change the outcome, but is still a huge issue that is a thing later in Yoda/Mickey.
Honestly, it doesn't matter, the keyblade provides so many hax that Sora personal power doesn't matter too much. Even then Sora is way stronger than Pit sans keyblade especially with the context of kh3, where it's implied that he can manipulate time post mortem.

@@darthcerebus I dont even think there is anything wrong with thematic fights, like there are some interesting ones even if theyre stomps just due to history. Stuff like goku vs superman, or mario vs sonic, neither of these are really particularly close, but they can still be interesting to discuss. But yea, the issue is that EVERY fight they do is a thematic one, so you never see close fights except for once in a blue moon where characters just happen to be close in power.
The problem with death battle is they take “rule of cool” at face value. They compare them at their most absurd feat that was just there to, you know, be cool. Instead of the fact at most battles they can handle even less or do even less.
I know they're also huge propagaters of "This character dodged a lightning attack, which we are going to assume A: the attack moves as quickly as real lightning despite behaving completely differently, and B: the character only reacted after the lighting attack was fired. This character then sparred with another character, so that character can also move faster than lightning.". Which, to my own glee, usually means you can argue nearly any character in fiction to move faster than light. Also, measuring everything by the yardstick of TNT, even when that's utterly absurd, like using TNT to measure the power of something being cold, like the Mitsuru vs RWBY fight.

Not saying it's a "good" method for scaling but without any other frame of reference or notable difference to the physics of how the lightning attack is supposedly different from real lightning, it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume the character can reach lightning fast speeds. Tons of TNT is used for overall kinetic energy, not just explosive energy. Though not sure why they don't use joules.

It's why lightning speed holds more for MHA characters than the one time James Bond did. Its dumb, sure. But that's more of a structure thing with Death Battle as oppose to just saying it only happened once or twice, so it should be ignored entirely.
The problem with that logic is you assume writers are not only going to properly display real life scientific phenomenon 100% accurately, but also that if it isnt 100% accurate to real life (despite the fact its a fictional show) that it cant possibly be used as an example of said things
The most important feat is speed…even if a character has “more power”, they wouldn’t even be able to perceive the motions of someone at even 100-1000x faster. When some of these speed differences are several orders of magnitude different, there isn’t even a fight as it would be over instantly
power matters just as much as if a character is like a 1000 times weaker. he would never be able to damage the other guy. so it will be a stalemate even if he is 1000 times faster. but not for long as if he even stops for 1 sec he is done but the power guy can just sleep nd take 0 dmage.

In Jotaro Vs Kenshiro, I feel they outright favored Kenshiro and didn't adequately take into account Jotaro's ability to freeze time to move faster than light and his ability to reach inside of a human being with his Stand to stop or start their heart, which could have been used against Kenshiro.
They waned kenshiro because of his one shot techniques even tho he was far slower then star platinum and star platinum had multiple times the power needed to beat kenshiro and plus timestop, he would kill kenshiro no doubt .
It was in Kenshiro's favor because the dude can literally become intangible whenever he wants and only needs one touch to win. No amount of stand shenanigans that have never been tested in an actual fight and never show up again after the one time is gonna top that.
@@DragoonCenten I'll give you that, that is true of Kenshiro. But there is a lot of strange physics behind being able to stop time to circumvent the speed of causality. A feat they outright water down to become the *opposite* of Faster Than Light travel to *almost as fast as* as if stopping time doesn't stop time. Also, Jotaro's stand being able to essentially quantum tunnel into other human beings is nothing to be taking lightly. Also-also, Star Platinum is special apart from The World in that it has an S Rating Adaptability, and that potentiality was passed entirely. I know that "Fist of the North Star" came first, but jotaro was not given a fair Death Battle assessment. It was unfairly one-sided. That's the point of the video. We needed a Time Stop during 100 Crack Fist to adequately see the interaction, and if JoJo can stop time as he's being barbequed/crush by falling Road Roallers, a Time Stop during 100 Crack Fist is to be expected on some level. But I just watch RUclips. What has that ever taught me about Relativity or Physics?

Jotaro is a Shonen style hero, where the targeted audience was the basis for shaping around the story of progression for the young titular character. On the flipside of the arena: Kenshiro's is a Post-apocalyptical style hero, where the targeted audience is the basis for shaping a story of survival and inevitable finality of the goals of the rational seasoned North Star inheritor. Due to the nature of the states in which the stories these character iterations are derived from -- Jotaro at the very youth and foundation of his heroism , Kenshiro fully acclimated to the potential of his heroism -- it was inevitable that such a well developed and fully aware character such as Kenshiro was destined to win, over the newly-introduced and barely discovering-his-edge Jotaro. The whole thing sort of resembles a mismatch of calibur rather than a one-sided duel. (There are circumstances that enabled Jotaro from a story-telling perspective to achieve what was impossible outright) I guess what I really mean is: This matchup was whack. It was only cool to see due to JJBA being inspired by Fist of the North Star (and if I may be cynical, *IS* the entire point of putting the 2 in a death battle) EDIT: Again, the point of the vid is that its an Unfair One-sided Matchup. If the first three seasons were included, I would definitely include Dante vs Bayonetta. They outright state Dante is immortal and a demon hunter, Bayonetta had no absolute chance, and I was very frustrated by how "close" they wanted to present it
Dante was considered immortal by his own healing factor, something that Bayonetta wasn't shown to have... because she has literally never been shown injured by anything that happened to her. Her fastest feat is dodging a satellite without Witch Time going from orbit to surface level in 5 seconds shits on Dante's rain sword feat, so she's faster. Dante has needed help fighting his final bosses before, and for large chunks of time, Bayonetta could do so without anyone's help. She's also survived re-entry without a second thought. Nothing has damaged her, so either she's way more durable than Dante or her healing factor is much better. Devil Trigger runs out eventually, Bayonetta can stack Witch Time as much as she wants to without any difficulty or resource cost. She's got the advantage in just about every aspect. Faster, more durable meaning pretty much anything Dante throws at her would miss or if its a physical weapon would break on contact. She can easily overwhelm Dante's healing factor, but what exactly could Dante do to even damage her. let alone kill her? Bayo's demons generate megatons of force and higher on the regular without needing to go into a higher form. Even the Deathbattle research team said this should have been a win for Bayo. She could easily outspeed him and overwhelm his healing factor and pretty much beat Dante into paste. Like, in what way is Dante superior? She has the edge on him in every way that matters. There's no way this battle would have been included if seasons 1-3 were included. Go check out one of this guys videos on battles DB got wrong using their own calculations. He even states Bayonetta was said to be stronger. And DB didn't get her fastest speed feat right. So again, like, in what way is Dante winning this? At all?
It’s basically just a popularity thing nowadays. Ben 10 V Green Lantern showed it off pretty well. They had decided pre researching that green lantern would win, and then stacked the decks heavily in his favour. Essentially creating an ultimate composit Hal Jordan who can do anything a green lantern has been shown to do, against a Ben who barely knows what his doing. They also treated the insanely powerful universe rewriting Alien X like a melee fighter with very limited powers. If Ben 10 was still as popular as he used to be, then he would of won.
And actually, I don’t think that Ben would of even been able to use Alien X. He would of just got stuck talking to Serephina and Bellicus (think that’s how their names are spelt) for years. Green Lantern wouldn’t of been able to do anything to him, so he would of probably left. Self KO.
Why is everyone in the comments shocked by stacked mashups? They're usually just thematically tied characters which is what matters most to this series. More importantly, it's not like everyone understands the in-depth science of which Megaman is strongest. I don't care how much of a powerscaling nerd you are (I am too, it's cool), who already did the numbers on how much stronger Spyro was than Crash until DB? We can't pretend like we just knew the outcome and the matchup didn't work.
There’s a couple where if you think about it you know who is gonna win, for example dragonzord vs mecha g. One is big, slow and lumbering that needs help to face big enemies, the other nearly killed godzilla on its own.

One is superhuman symbiote who can lift trucks and has absorbed the super powers of dozens of alien entities and regularly physically outmatches Spiderman while the other is basically just Batman but with a little less intellect and a little more strength. In fact they already said that Spiderman's powers are both perfectly suited to and let him overpower Batman so just using kinda mirror villains would have the same result.
I still think doomguy versus Master Chief was incredibly stacked. Doomguy basically did nothing but walk and shoot while MC (who was also nerfed for their fight) actually got to use some of his abilities
iirc they explicitly state that doomguy is faster or as fast as chief, yet he stands still/walks slowly throughout the entire fight, meanwhile chief is doing fucking parkour around him
I mean, the thing with Death Battle is that they're not pitting similar power levels against each other. Each match is more of a "theme", and then they determine which of those similarish characters is stronger. It'd be really hard to find two similar characters with similar levels of power.
@LeoUltima cloud vs. Link was idiotic. It was basically so dumbed down of a theme it was "guy with sword" when better would have been link vs. Juste Belmont, or really any Belmont after Trevor. Cloud would have been more akin to dante from dmc.

Sephiroth can throw a super nova THEMED attack. The fact he uses his abilities on planets without destroying them clearly demonstrates he isn't using actual novas.
In the original FF7, his Supernova was a 2 minute long animation that destroyed most of the planets in the Solar System, and caused the sun to expand to the size of the Earth's orbit. It deals fractional damage and literally cannot kill your party. The whole thing is so far removed from reality it's impossible to take seriously. Especially when you consider that Sephiroth still has that limp (to be clear, he _walks_ with a limp, so he'll jump around 50ft in the air effortlessly to 'hide' it?) from that one time Cloud stabbed him. The whole game suffers from tonal whiplash.
A source of major annoyance is that a lot of these character "feats" are just caused by bad writing. Often, writers allow a character to do insane things for the purposes of one story only (or worse, just to demonstrate how badass a character is) without thinking how this will affect the character itself. If these numbers/statistics are true then there is no way these characters could ever lose. Thus, a lot of these craze feats are forgotten and ignored in stories featuring the same character. A classic example is Flash who the writers brilliantly state can move faster than light itself in one story..and yet gets punched by a character in another.

I will add to this that Aquaman's "continent" feat comes down to the fact that DC describes Atlantis as both a city and a "continent", but never describe the size of the "continent". So DB assumes that means it must be bigger than Greenland. Which should make NO SENSE to anyone who has looked at a map of the world.
DC's Earth is stated to be slightly bigger than our Earth and even Marvel's 616 Earth. It's been shown in various comics as well as JLA/Avengers, where the Avengers straight up state that Earth in the DCU is bigger than their own Earth.
Idk where they got the idea that Dr Strange was only solar system level. There's a multiversal level version of him that was so powerful that the living tribunal had to strip him of his power to keep the balance in the multiverse.

one thing that more or less made me stop watching death battles entirely is the incredibly inconsistent sources they use. Since in many of the battles they nitpick every single source from one character while entirely ignoring everything but one version of the other (which usually means that side loses, since they do not have their full abilities presented). On top their reasoning behind power levels can be...illogical, like seriously, stuff like 'he avoided a laser beam so obviously he is faster than light' kind of idiocy
that last part reminds me of "tracer vs scout". they said tracer had an incredible reaction time because she managed to react to a bullet being fired. they seem to miss the fact that she saw the gun being pointed at her before the trigger was pulled. taking away the slow motion, that would be around one full second or a half second reaction time, which is something normal people can accomplish
@@Underworlder5 Amen. One that irked me particularly was them talking about optimus prime vs gundam which more or less showcased all things I dislike about death battles. They used only one gundam model (the very first one if memory serves) while using the 'entire continuity' of optimus prime. arguing reaction times in favour of the mech not being piloted while conveniently ignoring that the gundam pilot rather explicitly is....precognisant, specifically they are so good pilots because they have basically a sixth sense allowing reaction based on the intent of their opponent. The tracer vs scout one was also showcasing the selective nitpickiness in that they ignored the cinematic scout who has been shown being perfectly fine after 'multiple grenade explosions at point blank range'
@@Underworlder5 it especially annoyed me when they outright mention and put in a stat scout’s large arsenal before completely forgetting each of the other weapons plus totally forgoing Tracer’s limited abilities. Someone put this better than I can but essentially they pit cinematic Tracer with unlimited blinks versus not even game scout seeing as most scouts toss up between guns and choose literally any gun they want, meanwhile if it was cinematic scout Vs. cinematic tracer, then it would be a better match up but still favor scout because this guy ran faster than a train for a bit and could take several point blank rovers without full health and survived.
Deathbattle measures everything in Explosives, explosive force, and dynamite because it's all they know to measure by. It really sucks and they fucked up the Aizen vs Madara Fight by taking the Hogyoku from him even though he still had it inside of him.
I honestly don't think "fair fight" was ever the intention of death battle, most if not all match ups are based on an overall theme over a "matching" skill set.

I’m still pissed about the Sephiroth vs Vergil fight because to my knowledge, there’s no actual evidence that he can throw a supernova at people. It’s just an incredibly convincing illusion that causes such mental trauma to those exposed that it can cause physical damage, it’s ability to kill members of your party due to the status effect chosen in the original Japanese release can be explained by said party members having their heart rate skyrocket out of sheer fear, which either causes a heart attack that kills them, or much more gruesomely, their heart explodes because it couldn’t endure how fast it was beating. It was always only ever an illusion, he never possessed the ability to toss someone into an exploding star.

And the fact that it doesn’t outright kill your entire party supports that. If he actually teleported the party into a supernova, they’d be dead the moment the sun went nova due to the obscene amount of radiation bombarding everything within tens of millions of miles, and then the obscene amount of heat atomizing the solar system, and therefore the party as well. It’s an illusion, nothing more.

Honourable mention to the Weiss Schnee/Mitsuru Kirijo fight When both fighters happened to be proficient ice magic users, but one of them can absorb it as well, that's the making of a curb stomp. Even the Death Battle crew admitted in the podcast after that fight that they had trouble making this one a little more fair

@@romram7984 Ace didn't really have the speed to keep up with Natsu Plus most of Aces Arsenal was a fire attacks and he never showed using haki even though he is a confirmed user so we can't really scale how powerful his haki is and gets taken out of the equation Natsu has speed, durability, AP, battle experience, and destructive output And this was for both respective characters during the time death battles episode came out And even if you did the death battle in today's era for both series Natsu would stop him even harder

Death battles can be extremely predictable such as a the Deadpool vs Death Stroke where they tell you that only Deadpool has a weapon that can stop a healing factor
I remember I stopped watching any Death Battle episodes when it felt there was a slight bias in their scaling and fights, it just felt like a rigged fight that plays favorites (I remember watching a few that felt there was a bias to the Sonic characters..), when it should have been awesome no matter who won. My favorite one that I believe fits that criteria, even though there may be a bias present in the video's research, is Ragna vs Sol. I remember it being awesome, and entertaining to watch no mater who won in the end.
I mean, if we want to talk about ridiculously rigged fights, Tracer vs. Scout had them go "we know he tanked this kind of stuff in Meet the Medic, but he can't do that in the game, so doesn't count" (and even then, MvM upgrades are a thing) while allowing Tracer to do stuff from the trailers that isn't possible in game. The two characters are literally playing by two different sets of rules in that episode.
They definitely left out alot of Ragnas feats and just outright said stuff was wrong. SOL STILL WINS but man that jist pissed me off after that I knew they were full of shit. Glad it's still an ongoing trend
I agree 100% and lucario vs renomon is one of the biggest blunders that still piss me off to this day a ralu can't evolve without a trainer yet no trainer and lucario is fighting and then regimen witch can digivolve all on its own don't to because they wanted lucario to win

@@devsleeps54 True, Ragna was pretty lowballed, but even then, Sol is canonically pretty damn strong, Ragna vs Sol in an actual battle is basically a super enhanced human vs a genetically modified superhuman. Sol would definately beat Ragna in a real fight. Ragna is no slouch with him being a literal one-man-army against a worldwide givernment force, but Sol by comparison is a bounty hunter who can go toe-to-toe with similarly genetically modified/engineered monsters bigger than him by an order of magnitude, and still come out as the victor on a pretty regular basis. Ragna is my favorite character between the two, but as a fan of both series, I do believe the victory would go to Sol in the end..
The fact they thought Optimus vs Gundam would be a fair match baffles me. Mobile Suit Gundam, at it's heart, is a Real Robot series. The Gundam is nothing more than another piece of military equipment to be used by a pilot. It has it's strengths and limitations, as well as the limitations of a human piloting it. Even Amuro, when he was inexperienced and a newbie, had a hard time holding off Zakus and other Zeonic mobile suits, as their pilots were way more experienced. It was only due to the Gundam being a prototype for a new generation of mobile suits as well as Amuro's Newtype powers that he miraculously survived the One Year War. Transformers, on the other hand, is a Super Robot series. The Transformers are pretty much sentient AI robots with capabilities that can rival the Gurren Lagaan or the Jagd Mirage, heck the Jagd Mirage would be easily outmaneuvered by a Transformer. Comparing a Transformer to a Gundam is like comparing a WW1 Biplane to an X-Wing, it's fucking unreal.
and that is not even getting close to Optimus' incarnation in prime or the other clusterfuck that is the transformers multiverse. Cuz in at least 1 continuity Opti is the literal reincarnation of a creator god's 13th creation. Aka, prime was a literal demigod.
Transformers, Super Robot that transform into vehicles, And yeah no wonder why Octimus is a litteral 13th God création, Because Megatron The leader of the Deceptacon which finds Allspark that he can use to wipe out the entire human race
honestly death-battle is a dumb idea when it really comes down to it, the whole power scaling conversation is. it originated from kids thinking that "my character can beat yours" made them a "better" character. On a small level, such as 2 standard swordsmen, it can be an interesting conversation talking about fighting styles/previous experience/physical limits etc. but when comics, anime, games and films become long running and in some cases have multiple iterations the power levels get geniunely dumb. Certain creators give up with trying to make villains that tie in to the other characters emotionally and instead go "uhhhh... last one threatened the whole city... so now we go for... THE COUNTRY! YES IT'S PERFECT" and so the character gains new power/training/reveals something they hadn't used before to match that event and win, this also works out well for marketing as it often involves a new form of some kind which is good for selling the product itself along with new merchandise. the second a character gets above a tough fight against an equally trained human opponent I have no care for their "power scaling" anymore as from that point onward it just spirals until some iteration gets the "ultimate powerup" that is "infinity + infinity x infinity more stongerer than your dumb hero's" just so that next week they can get something even stronger than that. power doesn't make characters better and most characters involved in "power scaling" arguments are boring to me BECAUSE of their ridiculous power level. Characters like superman are only intersting to me when against a threat that is more personal, or when their own power IS the threat which are both rivers that run dry very quickly.
I agree, the very best superman stories in my opinion are: All-Star which revolves completely around the emotional impact of his incoming death from incurable poisoning; and Death of Superman/Reign of Supermen, Which shows superman killed by doomsday and the aftermath.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure author Hirohiko Araki figured how to avoid that pitfall decades ago with imaginative power-set match-ups following Part 3 where characters hit the power ceiling for that setting (and gets an interesting moment out of pointing out how everything has changed through the match-up of Kujo Jotaro and a rat. Yes, a literal non-sapient yet still psychic rat nearly kills the time freezing super strong/fast brawler who crushed the villain of the last part with a glancing blow due to that blow giving him a more deadly fast acting form of the Bubonic Plague. Physical strength alone clearly became irrelevant at that point and never becomes a major factor in the franchise again).

@@EatWave actaully JoJo's "avoids" that problem by introducing new characters every part so it acts kind of like a power level reset. And while jospeh appears in part 3 and jotaro in parts 4, (technically 5) and 6 they are both "nerfed" heavily from their prime. and in jotaro's case he pretty much never actually fights and the few times he does he either wins or is taken by suprise (the rats). JoJo's is incredibly fun and entertaining but by no means is it well written from a traditional "stand"point.
The Sephiroth vs. Vergil fight still irks me, especially when we know the actual lore capabilities of Vergil. If their lore feats were brought into consideration, a good number of death battles would have ended in a single hit, or would have ended differently

A lot of people want fights between characters who have some similarities or meta connections to each other. Unfortunately that doesn't mean that those characters are even at the same level as each other. Just look at the matches on this list. If you only look at the character matchups based solely on their character traits and the actions they take during their respective stories they all sound like cool fights that make sense, but then you see the feats and physical capabilities of and you realize how much of a curb stomp they all are.
Unfortunately, most fans don't think about the numbers when suggesting battles. They want battles between characters that are similar because the idea sounds cooler. Especially when it comes to Marvel vs DC. Speedsters, Atlanteans, archers, gods, sidekicks. And of course Bats vs Spiders (I'm surprised they haven't done Black Cat vs Catwoman yet)
Lets be honest they dont care about numbers they just want justifications for their favorite hero. Lots of people agree with DB when they are winning but the opposite when they lose

I hate how inconsistent it is. An objectively weaker opponent wins because of their fighting style, but in the next episode an objectively stronger one wipes the floor with them in a genuinely unfair fight
Here are some episodes that could've made it depending on what you went with:
Captain Falcon VS Johnny Cage. This episode would've made it but they outright talk about and debunk the scaling used, and don't actively go into it. However if you go with Falcon scaling to Black Shadow at 100 Megatons VS Johnny scaling to Raiden at 270 Tons of TNT, then the difference is 370,370 times. Which would be the 18th biggest stomp.
Dracula VS Ganondorf. They compare them to planet and universal power sources but it's super weird because they just compare that to the size of the batteries they'd have access to. Not overall power. Some might want to go with it for power though idk.

Something I find hilarious is the "Guts vs Nightmare" fight. Although it isn't a number, I have a problem with Death Battel taking Venom, a symboite with a known weakness to sonic attacks, & putting him against Crona, who's specialty is sonic resonance. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't sonic resonance a sonic attack? Even more annoying is the fact that the only reason is that the people over at Death Battel noticed that both Crona & Venom attack people with black tendrils. A fine reason to put Venom up against someone who's guaranteed to beat Venom, I guess.

As a Scout main, when I first watched Tracer vs Scout I nearly died. Scout STANDING STILL and shooting while Tracer gets infinite blinks. Absolutely disgusting.

Ben couldn't stop the Annihilargh from going off in the first place because Bellicus said it was too late to do so. It was way after when he used Feedback to stop the Annihilargh from going off again.
They never said the omnitrix wouldn't be fast enough to transform him before limb removal, they said it technically hadn't shown direct defense from limb removal. This argument gets taken out of context so much. They even gave the calc for the Q&A but that Hal's fastest activation for the power ring was still way faster.
That's straight not what they said tho. They said X hadn't shown defenses against time manipulation.

@matijasostojic4288 "for effect" is only an argument that makes sense based on the animation timing. The universe isn't one mass of things that naturally connect for a chain reaction, it's a collection of celestial bodies that exist independently of each other.
We clearly see that a bunch of the universe is still left by the time Bellicus mentions people are screaming and Ben finds out the Annihilargh has already started.

It's honestly funny how Death Battles constantly fuck over their own logic, especially when re-using characters.
Like the hulk and Broly fight if hulk can't die unless he is completely obliterated than by default he wins the doomsday fight because doomsday poses no power capable of doing that
Link Vs. Cloud. Nothing changed for Cloud, but the some how majorly nerfed Link even though with everything "new" for Link would have just made the gap even bigger.
One example is Mario vs Sonic. As athletic Mario is and as useful as his powerups are, they aren’t enough to beat super sonic. The original fight reflected this, but the rematch basically said that help from a star man can apparently lead to victory against Hyper Sonic which is suppose to be more powerful than super sonic
My only way to defend them is that they know more about the characters and have more material to work off of when they reuse characters

Basically all 4 Alicorn princesses Celestia, Luna, Crystal, and Twilight are demi-goddesses that are basically to an extent the physical representations of a aspect of Equestria, Celestia represents the sun, Luna Celestia's sister represents the moon, Crystal who is also Twilight's sister-in-law via marrying Shining Armor Twilight's brother represents love, and Twilight herself represents magic and thus has abilities connected to said aspect they represent and in Twilight's case this means a near-unlimited magic pool to draw from the only this ultra-massive magic pool gets drained is by someone who is equal to Twilight in power, and the ability sense magic, and if need be seal someone's magic away though she only does the magic sealing as a last resort, she's also got near-unlimited stamina as in her battles against Sunset Shimmer, and her evil alternate counterpart Midnight Sparkle Twilight was stated to be able to battle for as long as she wanted to.
As for what they barely touch upon the battle against Tirek that temporary boost was nothing to scoff at as when Celestia, Luna, and Crystal temporarily gave Twilight their powers that meant they also gave Twilight the abilities, and powers connected to the aspects they represent which Twlight could also manipulate the sun, manipulate the moon, and control the aspect of love, and also the fight against Tirek showed that Twilight via her training with Rainbow Dash is a decent martial-artist.
Twilight is also a tactical genius, and a master detective, along with being able to use her spells, and powers in very creative ways this is due to Twilight being really really intelligent.
And as for Rainbow Dash being able to beat Starscream DB clearly stated that was Gen 1 Starscream who is a cowardly idiot meaning yeah Rainbow Dash would have no issues taking him down now Armada/Micron Starscream, and Cybertron/Galaxy Force Starscream that's a different story as those versions aren't just cunning individuals they're also decent warriors in their own right.

One of the most unfair was probably one of the recent episodes. Homelander versus Omniman. The power levels aren't even comparable. Homelander might be the most powerful in the boys universe boys universe but he doesn't have anything of anything on Omniman. In fact it’s the exact opposite where homelander has never had to even think about opponents as strong as him and. None of this even matters though since Omniman is way stronger being able to create devastating explosions from flying so fast and such it’s not even close. 1) Scout vs Tracer, Scout's taunt kill can one shot a heavy and send him airborne, he uses it on Tracer, it lands and she survives?
2) Crash vs Spyro specifically because they said they'd pull data from their original 3 games and then used feats from Spyro's later games
3) Yang vs Tifa but that's mostly cause Yang had only existed for one season of a show she was a supporting character in and stomped an incredibly well known fighter (also the fact they joined Rooster Teeth VERY soon after is a bit odd)
Actually she was in for three seasons during the Tifa fight. To actually understand feats that yang has you need to watch the show. Or try throwing a human sized object through the ceiling of a school with such height that it takes a full three minutes to hit the ground. And yang survived survived with barely a scratch. Same thing with a 2 foot thick cinder pillar and walked away like it was nothing

Like I said said was rooting foryang, mostly only because I like her more, but also her voice actress for her actual show played her in the death battle, so I was just happy these two got to fight. At least for me, unless I know exactly what both fighters are capable of, I usually just take my favorite characters side to root for them to win but otherwise at the end even if they lose, Im usually like 'huh, okay I didn't know they could do that.' the scout VS tracer was bad enough that they had to enforce the rule that the animation is unconnected from the data gathering

The truly most unfair, somewhat surprisingly, was Darkseid vs. Thanos. And I mean, by far.
The reason has nothing to do with specific calculations as such but rather simply the fact that Thanos needs the Infinity Gauntlet to be able to compete with Darkseid, and the only way to win a Death Battle is to kill your opponent. Since the only way to truly kill Darkseid is to confront and somehow destroy his true form in the Fourth World, and since the Infinity Gauntlet canonically only works in its own universe, that's ... it. It's just over.
Like, sure, Thanos could remain in his own universe for an arbitrarily long time and avoid dying at Darkseid's hands as long as he retains the Infinity Gauntlet, but he could never win that way as winning is only possible by killing your opponent. At best, Thanos could try to stalemate indefinitely by avoiding confronting True Darkseid in the Fourth World, but given an infinite amount of time, the odds of him being somehow separated from the Infinity Gauntlet and/or tricked into the Fourth World also begin to approach infinity.
Literally, the problem with that fight is that only one of them had _any way whatsoever_ to fulfill the win condition of "kill your opponent." In most Death Battles, the loser "could" conceivably win but just would be unlikely to, but in that one, it was actually _impossible_ for the loser to win. _Ever._
I agree; also Darkseid is a sentient metaphysical concept, Thanos is still a mortal person. It's literally like comparing an amoeba to a human.

The actual disparity and degree to which Darkseid is simply beyond Thanos caught me totally off-guard.

Unpopular opinion: Mitsuru Kirijo VS Weiss Schnee was kind of unfair. Weiss SPECIALIZES in ice magic. Mitsuru is IMMUNE to ice magic. Mitsuru fought alongside other members of SEES to fight *death itself and lived to tell the tale.* Meanwhile... Weiss is known by the community to lose a lot of the fights that she gets into. Yeah, Weiss didnt stand a chance honestly.
I was surprised that Mitsuru vs Weiss didn't make the list even as an honorable mention, sure she didn't beat Nyx but she helped in the fight against a God, Mitsuru is far more durable without using a forcefield to take damage for her like Weiss and they make Weiss summons considerable faster than they are in the show, while personas take no focus at all to use she using summons is by far getting some free hits on her

@@wildste I've seen them. To me its moreso that there's not really a reason to assume that the Sotoboro Effect is an all encompassing time sense. Especially given that Ben 10k said that it's a ripple caused by Chronosapiens and Ben uses it to detect the Chronosapien timebomb. There's been times where all 3 versions of Ben were time traveling and the others didn't know about it, which is especially interesting that Ben 10k didn't even know Eon was still alive.
I am kind of spit balling here but we've also never seen Ben use his aliens to time travel, only time manipulation.

The device itself outright _cannot_ be removed by force, including chopping of the user’s arm. It will do everything in its power to prevent that from occurring. In this case, it would probably turn Ben into Goop. It requires a number of specific overrides to be said, by either it’s creator or user, to actually come off.
That, and they used COMPOUNDED versions of the characters, notably having a Classic Era Ben with a Final Model Omnitrix and a Hal with *checks notes* _literally every ability every rendition of the character has, along with feats of alternate Lanturns that Hal has literally never been shown to be capable of._
Beyond that, Ben should just stomp, because of the Omnitrix he’s basically immune to anything Hal could throw at him thanks solely to the Omnitrix’s failsafes.

The problem with death battle's stats is that they're biased.
They literally dont even try to hide that anymore, they purposefully ignore shit from the lore just because they wanted one person to win over the other.
I feel like they’ve gotten a lot better with that over time. Though there definitely was a long period of time they had a big bias problem, the more recent wave of death battles have mostly seemed fair and well researched, and anything they don’t mention is just cause it wouldn’t have changed anything anyway.
short version: if your writing is worse than your opponent then you win at death battles.

@@SKsuprakirby My biggest problem with death battle honestly. With characters from very compact stories, their power scaling is very consistent. Meanwhile, some other characters (particularly comic book ones) have had a bunch of different writers giving bullshit powers, and then based of that, make some ultra bullshit character out of them, which is why superman is terrible in death battle
More power doesn't equal bad writing.
One thing I've realized after a number of these is that it's really rough trying to compare things from different universes because some settings have a style that only works on planetary power levels while others are happy at city level. Ridiculously unfair and, in my opinion, not to entertaining when you try to put real numbers to what is mostly an aesthetic-based feat of power.
also different logic. scrooge had a huge advantage against shovel knight because his comic series will occasionally defy reality for a gag (they themselves cited such a comic where he tosses a coin across a lake, rows across the lake, then catches the coin before it lands. that gag was just a play on his classic scottish frugality). given enough time in such a setting, anyone can perform ridiculous feats
Sometimes the character did something like, blowing a planet, once, because the writer went nuts, and never do it again ever, but it will be always considered as a power level of the character

Since this entire genre (versus debate) is extremely opinionated you can't really say any DB is wrong outright but only wrong when considering their own standards and analysis they pick a winner that in their reality didn't stand a chance. I think flash vs quicksilver deserved a mention. They basically say there was not a single scenario which quicksilver would win

Well, there really was no scenario where each had their typical level of power where Quicksilver could win. Against Jay Garrick maybe, but not Barry. Not without removing the speed force or buffing Quicksilver with it.
Actually, they are correct about that. The flash feats are 100 times above quicksilver. There is no way quicksilver would win against flash. Keep in mind I'm a dc and a marvel fan saying this. So from an unbiased point of view, flash would and always will win.

They said this because Quicksilver in essence has the exact same power as Flash except weaker and less versatile. Not necessarily because the difference in power is so massive that Quicksilver can't overcome it (even though it pretty much is) just... he has absolutely no edge anywhere over Flash. His only noteworthy ability is speed, and Flash is faster as well as more versatile. There's nothing Quicksilver can do that the Flash can't do the same or better, unless you wanna pit him against an extremely weak Flash like Jay Garrick. That's pretty much the end of the story for Quicksilver, he loses because his powers are less stupidly unfair.
Here's a bit of a funky one. Sam Fisher vs Solid Snake. While not unfair by simply a raw statistic that one excels at, it's unfair by the simple fact that Snake has had access to commanding the sun to kill people, Octocamo, a suit that prevents thermals from seeing him, thermals of his own, and just... the Big Boss mask. Sam Fisher, meanwhile, is the epitome of an average guy. He may be an amazing espionage operative, but Snake simply has an answer for anything Sam can do. Even considering Sam's bullet-time-like ability seen in the later games, Snake's durability is far beyond what a normal man should have access to. The only potential way for Sam to win, would be by preparing a trap and using it (without seeing him bc BB mask) to maybe do a bit of damage to Snake.
Sam's Footprint tracker wasn't taken into consideration either (Blacklist), he should of not fell for the Box. There was never really anything asides TPP confirming the Sneaking Suit silences footsteps, but NOT that it'd leave foot prints. Based on design alone from what was known, Fisher had more gadgets that would make it easier to track (along with equipment to hear easier, which was not showcased at all).
Now Snake WOULD win regardless, but I feel like this should've been a battle of who can out-stealth each other, with most of the important equipment (INCLUDING the following goggles: EMF, Sonar, Ambient Sonar), all of which are outright not thermal. Even Snake is unable to control his breathe like his buddy "Quiet" in TPP.
I don't know the whole strength and speed stats the dude in the video is talking about (I haven't watched DB since this one), but Fisher *should've* won until he made a mistake where as Snake wasn't going to make a mistake unless he ended up on the hunt for Fisher. With the gun scene, I also believe Fisher could've had his magnetic crossbow which would've taken Snake out the fight even with his resiliencies.
It was an anime character vs. a character derived from novels based on realistic depictions of actual real-life operators. If you compared game play mechanics and not anime ramblings in cut scenes, Sam would have won easily. No actual person can crawl through microwaves and not just get cooked. Being skilled or physically tough won't stop the cooking process.

True, some battles are complete stomps. There's no denying that. But at the same time I feel like a lot of people watch death battle because they animate these cool fight scenes that a lot of people want to see. DB's patrons also vote a lot of battles so to some extent the community sometimes wants to see complete stomps. But that's my opinion.
My favorite controversy is when screw attack claims seeing faster isn't a thing. But Raiden vs wolverine Raiden can "slow his perception of time" which is pig Latin for he can see faster. Also Raiden defeated a man who can break metal by yelling at it and destroyed a super tank by chopping it to pieces with a building sized knife faster the naked eye can perceive. I know wolverine is a tough dude but a man who can perform stealth assassinations with a building should not be placed in a tournament.

Surprised that Flash Vs. Quicksilver wasn't on here. The number I can find for Quicksilver's top speed is 2050 mph. while flash can run fast enough to warp time and reality itself. Something that we have no idea what level of power would be needed to achieve. Flash is more than capable of breaking the speed of light, and was also shown to be able to run around the world at least 3 times in a single second. So even if we low-ball and call that Flash's to speed, that would be 268,930,800 mph which is 131,185.75609 repeating times faster than Quicksilver I don't remember the numbers given in the episode, but I knew before I even watched it that that was probably the most one-sided fight they've ever done, up to that point.

How? Hercules literally throws building sized titans into space, that's way more impressive than cutting through buildings. Sora was fighting and taking hits from the guy, the scaling is what makes it more impressive.
Plus they also got Sora's laser feat entirely wrong. It didn't go to the moon, but only about 5 feet in front of him because of the context they blatantly ignored. Wouldn't really change the outcome, but is still a huge issue that is a thing later in Yoda/Mickey.
Honestly, it doesn't matter, the keyblade provides so many hax that Sora personal power doesn't matter too much. Even then Sora is way stronger than Pit sans keyblade especially with the context of kh3, where it's implied that he can manipulate time post mortem.

But yea, the issue is that EVERY fight they do is a thematic one, so you never see close fights except for once in a blue moon where characters just happen to be close in power.
The problem with death battle is they take “rule of cool” at face value. They compare them at their most absurd feat that was just there to, you know, be cool. Instead of the fact at most battles they can handle even less or do even less.
I know they're also huge propagaters of "This character dodged a lightning attack, which we are going to assume A: the attack moves as quickly as real lightning despite behaving completely differently, and B: the character only reacted after the lighting attack was fired. This character then sparred with another character, so that character can also move faster than lightning.". Which, to my own glee, usually means you can argue nearly any character in fiction to move faster than light.
Also, measuring everything by the yardstick of TNT, even when that's utterly absurd, like using TNT to measure the power of something being cold, like the Mitsuru vs RWBY fight.

Not saying it's a "good" method for scaling but without any other frame of reference or notable difference to the physics of how the lightning attack is supposedly different from real lightning, it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume the character can reach lightning fast speeds.
Tons of TNT is used for overall kinetic energy, not just explosive energy. Though not sure why they don't use joules.

Its dumb, sure. But that's more of a structure thing with Death Battle as oppose to just saying it only happened once or twice, so it should be ignored entirely.
The problem with that logic is you assume writers are not only going to properly display real life scientific phenomenon 100% accurately, but also that if it isnt 100% accurate to real life (despite the fact its a fictional show) that it cant possibly be used as an example of said things
The most important feat is speed…even if a character has “more power”, they wouldn’t even be able to perceive the motions of someone at even 100-1000x faster. When some of these speed differences are several orders of magnitude different, there isn’t even a fight as it would be over instantly

power matters just as much as if a character is like a 1000 times weaker. he would never be able to damage the other guy. so it will be a stalemate even if he is 1000 times faster. but not for long as if he even stops for 1 sec he is done but the power guy can just sleep nd take 0 dmage.

In Jotaro Vs Kenshiro, I feel they outright favored Kenshiro and didn't adequately take into account Jotaro's ability to freeze time to move faster than light and his ability to reach inside of a human being with his Stand to stop or start their heart, which could have been used against Kenshiro.
They waned kenshiro because of his one shot techniques even tho he was far slower then star platinum and star platinum had multiple times the power needed to beat kenshiro and plus timestop, he would kill kenshiro no doubt .
It was in Kenshiro's favor because the dude can literally become intangible whenever he wants and only needs one touch to win. No amount of stand shenanigans that have never been tested in an actual fight and never show up again after the one time is gonna top that.

But there is a lot of strange physics behind being able to stop time to circumvent the speed of causality. A feat they outright water down to become the *opposite* of Faster Than Light travel to *almost as fast as* as if stopping time doesn't stop time.
Also, Jotaro's stand being able to essentially quantum tunnel into other human beings is nothing to be taking lightly.
Also-also, Star Platinum is special apart from The World in that it has an S Rating Adaptability, and that potentiality was passed entirely.
I know that "Fist of the North Star" came first, but jotaro was not given a fair Death Battle assessment.

Jotaro is a Shonen style hero, where the targeted audience was the basis for shaping around the story of progression for the young titular character.
On the flipside of the arena:
Kenshiro's is a Post-apocalyptical style hero, where the targeted audience is the basis for shaping a story of survival and inevitable finality of the goals of the rational seasoned North Star inheritor.
Due to the nature of the states in which the stories these character iterations are derived from -- Jotaro at the very youth and foundation of his heroism , Kenshiro fully acclimated to the potential of his heroism -- it was inevitable that such a well developed and fully aware character such as Kenshiro was destined to win, over the newly-introduced and barely discovering-his-edge Jotaro.
The whole thing sort of resembles a mismatch of calibur rather than a one-sided duel. (There are circumstances that enabled Jotaro from a story-telling perspective to achieve what was impossible outright)
I guess what I really mean is:
This matchup was whack. It was only cool to see due to JJBA being inspired by Fist of the North Star (and if I may be cynical, *IS* the entire point of putting the 2 in a death battle)

If the first three seasons were included, I would definitely include Dante vs Bayonetta. They outright state Dante is immortal and a demon hunter, Bayonetta had no absolute chance, and I was very frustrated by how "close" they wanted to present it

And if we’re being honest that fight ends with them making on each other.
Dante was considered immortal by his own healing factor, something that Bayonetta wasn't shown to have... because she has literally never been shown injured by anything that happened to her.
Her fastest feat is dodging a satellite without Witch Time going from orbit to surface level in 5 seconds shits on Dante's rain sword feat, so she's faster.
Dante has needed help fighting his final bosses before, and for large chunks of time, Bayonetta could do so without anyone's help. She's also survived re-entry without a second thought. Nothing has damaged her, so either she's way more durable than Dante or her healing factor is much better.
Devil Trigger runs out eventually, Bayonetta can stack Witch Time as much as she wants to without any difficulty or resource cost.
She's got the advantage in just about every aspect. Faster, more durable meaning pretty much anything Dante throws at her would miss or if its a physical weapon would break on contact. She can easily overwhelm Dante's healing factor, but what exactly could Dante do to even damage her. let alone kill her? Bayo's demons generate megatons of force and higher on the regular without needing to go into a higher form.

Like, in what way is Dante superior? She has the edge on him in every way that matters. There's no way this battle would have been included if seasons 1-3 were included. Go check out one of this guys videos on battles DB got wrong using their own calculations. He even states Bayonetta was said to be stronger. And DB didn't get her fastest speed feat right. So again, like, in what way is Dante winning this? At all?

It’s basically just a popularity thing nowadays. Ben 10 V Green Lantern showed it off pretty well. They had decided pre researching that green lantern would win, and then stacked the decks heavily in his favour. Essentially creating an ultimate composit Hal Jordan who can do anything a green lantern has been shown to do, against a Ben who barely knows what his doing. They also treated the insanely powerful universe rewriting Alien X like a melee fighter with very limited powers.
If Ben 10 was still as popular as he used to be, then he would of won.

Why is everyone in the comments shocked by stacked mashups? They're usually just thematically tied characters which is what matters most to this series. More importantly, it's not like everyone understands the in-depth science of which Megaman is strongest. I don't care how much of a powerscaling nerd you are (I am too, it's cool), who already did the numbers on how much stronger Spyro was than Crash until DB? We can't pretend like we just knew the outcome and the matchup didn't work.
There’s a couple where if you think about it you know who is gonna win, for example dragonzord vs mecha g. One is big, slow and lumbering that needs help to face big enemies, the other nearly killed godzilla on its own.

I still think doomguy versus Master Chief was incredibly stacked. Doomguy basically did nothing but walk and shoot while MC (who was also nerfed for their fight) actually got to use some of his abilities

I mean, the thing with Death Battle is that they're not pitting similar power levels against each other. Each match is more of a "theme", and then they determine which of those similarish characters is stronger. It'd be really hard to find two similar characters with similar levels of power.

The thing is, especially in anime, that's just not true. The combatants are often only similar in power in their own universe. But that won't work when said universes are on far different scales of power. That's the issue.
To be that guy, Sigma conquered Earth with his virus, while Ultron conquered a dwarf Galaxy with his AI, so Planet VS Low Galaxy or High Multi Solar System.
And all this fails to mention that one *SUPER* busted version of ultron, then again im not sure if that was in the main universe or not

In the original FF7, his Supernova was a 2 minute long animation that destroyed most of the planets in the Solar System, and caused the sun to expand to the size of the Earth's orbit. It deals fractional damage and literally cannot kill your party. The whole thing is so far removed from reality it's impossible to take seriously. Especially when you consider that Sephiroth still has that limp (to be clear, he _walks_ with a limp, so he'll jump around 50ft in the air effortlessly to 'hide' it?) from that one time Cloud stabbed him. The whole game suffers from tonal whiplash.
A source of major annoyance is that a lot of these character "feats" are just caused by bad writing. Often, writers allow a character to do insane things for the purposes of one story only (or worse, just to demonstrate how badass a character is) without thinking how this will affect the character itself. If these numbers/statistics are true then there is no way these characters could ever lose. Thus, a lot of these craze feats are forgotten and ignored in stories featuring the same character. A classic example is Flash who the writers brilliantly state can move faster than light itself in one story..and yet gets punched by a character in another.
Yes that is bad writing, however in scaling terms for that example, that would make that character that punched Flash relative to him or the speed of light.

I will add to this that Aquaman's "continent" feat comes down to the fact that DC describes Atlantis as both a city and a "continent", but never describe the size of the "continent". So DB assumes that means it must be bigger than Greenland. Which should make NO SENSE to anyone who has looked at a map of the world.
DC's Earth is stated to be slightly bigger than our Earth and even Marvel's 616 Earth. It's been shown in various comics as well as JLA/Avengers, where the Avengers straight up state that Earth in the DCU is bigger than their own Earth.

one thing that more or less made me stop watching death battles entirely is the incredibly inconsistent sources they use. Since in many of the battles they nitpick every single source from one character while entirely ignoring everything but one version of the other (which usually means that side loses, since they do not have their full abilities presented). On top their reasoning behind power levels can be...illogical, like seriously, stuff like 'he avoided a laser beam so obviously he is faster than light' kind of idiocy
that last part reminds me of "tracer vs scout". they said tracer had an incredible reaction time because she managed to react to a bullet being fired. they seem to miss the fact that she saw the gun being pointed at her before the trigger was pulled. taking away the slow motion, that would be around one full second or a half second reaction time, which is something normal people can accomplish
@@Underworlder5 Amen. One that irked me particularly was them talking about optimus prime vs gundam which more or less showcased all things I dislike about death battles. They used only one gundam model (the very first one if memory serves) while using the 'entire continuity' of optimus prime. arguing reaction times in favour of the mech not being piloted while conveniently ignoring that the gundam pilot rather explicitly is....precognisant, specifically they are so good pilots because they have basically a sixth sense allowing reaction based on the intent of their opponent.
The tracer vs scout one was also showcasing the selective nitpickiness in that they ignored the cinematic scout who has been shown being perfectly fine after 'multiple grenade explosions at point blank range'
@@Underworlder5 it especially annoyed me when they outright mention and put in a stat scout’s large arsenal before completely forgetting each of the other weapons plus totally forgoing Tracer’s limited abilities. Someone put this better than I can but essentially they pit cinematic Tracer with unlimited blinks versus not even game scout seeing as most scouts toss up between guns and choose literally any gun they want, meanwhile if it was cinematic scout Vs. cinematic tracer, then it would be a better match up but still favor scout because this guy ran faster than a train for a bit and could take several point blank rovers without full health and survived.

I’m still pissed about the Sephiroth vs Vergil fight because to my knowledge, there’s no actual evidence that he can throw a supernova at people. It’s just an incredibly convincing illusion that causes such mental trauma to those exposed that it can cause physical damage, it’s ability to kill members of your party due to the status effect chosen in the original Japanese release can be explained by said party members having their heart rate skyrocket out of sheer fear, which either causes a heart attack that kills them, or much more gruesomely, their heart explodes because it couldn’t endure how fast it was beating.
It was always only ever an illusion, he never possessed the ability to toss someone into an exploding star.
They say in the episode that he clearly isn’t actually throwing a supernova, but teleporting the person into a supernova.

And the fact that it doesn’t outright kill your entire party supports that. If he actually teleported the party into a supernova, they’d be dead the moment the sun went nova due to the obscene amount of radiation bombarding everything within tens of millions of miles, and then the obscene amount of heat atomizing the solar system, and therefore the party as well. It’s an illusion, nothing more.

When both fighters happened to be proficient ice magic users, but one of them can absorb it as well, that's the making of a curb stomp. Even the Death Battle crew admitted in the podcast after that fight that they had trouble making this one a little more fair
That was probably one of the biggest one-sided Stomps in the entire Siri's only comparable to Ace versus Natsu

Plus most of Aces Arsenal was a fire attacks and he never showed using haki even though he is a confirmed user so we can't really scale how powerful his haki is and gets taken out of the equation
Natsu has speed, durability, AP, battle experience, and destructive output
And this was for both respective characters during the time death battles episode came out
And even if you did the death battle in today's era for both series Natsu would stop him even harder
It’s easy to forget exactly how powerful some of these characters are until you see them compared to a character seen as “similar”
Now all that's missing is the closest battles by their own logic.

I remember I stopped watching any Death Battle episodes when it felt there was a slight bias in their scaling and fights, it just felt like a rigged fight that plays favorites (I remember watching a few that felt there was a bias to the Sonic characters..), when it should have been awesome no matter who won.
My favorite one that I believe fits that criteria, even though there may be a bias present in the video's research, is Ragna vs Sol. I remember it being awesome, and entertaining to watch no mater who won in the end.
I mean, if we want to talk about ridiculously rigged fights, Tracer vs. Scout had them go "we know he tanked this kind of stuff in Meet the Medic, but he can't do that in the game, so doesn't count" (and even then, MvM upgrades are a thing) while allowing Tracer to do stuff from the trailers that isn't possible in game.
The two characters are literally playing by two different sets of rules in that episode.
They definitely left out alot of Ragnas feats and just outright said stuff was wrong. SOL STILL WINS but man that jist pissed me off after that I knew they were full of shit. Glad it's still an ongoing trend

@@devsleeps54 True, Ragna was pretty lowballed, but even then, Sol is canonically pretty damn strong, Ragna vs Sol in an actual battle is basically a super enhanced human vs a genetically modified superhuman. Sol would definately beat Ragna in a real fight.
Ragna is no slouch with him being a literal one-man-army against a worldwide givernment force, but Sol by comparison is a bounty hunter who can go toe-to-toe with similarly genetically modified/engineered monsters bigger than him by an order of magnitude, and still come out as the victor on a pretty regular basis.
Ragna is my favorite character between the two, but as a fan of both series, I do believe the victory would go to Sol in the end..
The fact they thought Optimus vs Gundam would be a fair match baffles me.
Mobile Suit Gundam, at it's heart, is a Real Robot series. The Gundam is nothing more than another piece of military equipment to be used by a pilot. It has it's strengths and limitations, as well as the limitations of a human piloting it. Even Amuro, when he was inexperienced and a newbie, had a hard time holding off Zakus and other Zeonic mobile suits, as their pilots were way more experienced. It was only due to the Gundam being a prototype for a new generation of mobile suits as well as Amuro's Newtype powers that he miraculously survived the One Year War.
Transformers, on the other hand, is a Super Robot series. The Transformers are pretty much sentient AI robots with capabilities that can rival the Gurren Lagaan or the Jagd Mirage, heck the Jagd Mirage would be easily outmaneuvered by a Transformer. Comparing a Transformer to a Gundam is like comparing a WW1 Biplane to an X-Wing, it's fucking unreal.
and that is not even getting close to Optimus' incarnation in prime or the other clusterfuck that is the transformers multiverse. Cuz in at least 1 continuity Opti is the literal reincarnation of a creator god's 13th creation. Aka, prime was a literal demigod.
Transformers, Super Robot that transform into vehicles, And yeah no wonder why Octimus is a litteral 13th God création, Because Megatron The leader of the Deceptacon which finds Allspark that he can use to wipe out the entire human race

honestly death-battle is a dumb idea when it really comes down to it, the whole power scaling conversation is.
it originated from kids thinking that "my character can beat yours" made them a "better" character. On a small level, such as 2 standard swordsmen, it can be an interesting conversation talking about fighting styles/previous experience/physical limits etc. but when comics, anime, games and films become long running and in some cases have multiple iterations the power levels get geniunely dumb.
Certain creators give up with trying to make villains that tie in to the other characters emotionally and instead go "uhhhh... last one threatened the whole city... so now we go for... THE COUNTRY! YES IT'S PERFECT" and so the character gains new power/training/reveals something they hadn't used before to match that event and win, this also works out well for marketing as it often involves a new form of some kind which is good for selling the product itself along with new merchandise.
the second a character gets above a tough fight against an equally trained human opponent I have no care for their "power scaling" anymore as from that point onward it just spirals until some iteration gets the "ultimate powerup" that is "infinity + infinity x infinity more stongerer than your dumb hero's" just so that next week they can get something even stronger than that.
power doesn't make characters better and most characters involved in "power scaling" arguments are boring to me BECAUSE of their ridiculous power level. Characters like superman are only intersting to me when against a threat that is more personal, or when their own power IS the threat which are both rivers that run dry very quickly.
I agree, the very best superman stories in my opinion are: All-Star which revolves completely around the emotional impact of his incoming death from incurable poisoning; and Death of Superman/Reign of Supermen, Which shows superman killed by doomsday and the aftermath.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure author Hirohiko Araki figured how to avoid that pitfall decades ago with imaginative power-set match-ups following Part 3 where characters hit the power ceiling for that setting (and gets an interesting moment out of pointing out how everything has changed through the match-up of Kujo Jotaro and a rat. Yes, a literal non-sapient yet still psychic rat nearly kills the time freezing super strong/fast brawler who crushed the villain of the last part with a glancing blow due to that blow giving him a more deadly fast acting form of the Bubonic Plague. Physical strength alone clearly became irrelevant at that point and never becomes a major factor in the franchise again).

JoJo's is incredibly fun and entertaining but by no means is it well written from a traditional "stand"point.

A lot of people want fights between characters who have some similarities or meta connections to each other. Unfortunately that doesn't mean that those characters are even at the same level as each other.
Just look at the matches on this list. If you only look at the character matchups based solely on their character traits and the actions they take during their respective stories they all sound like cool fights that make sense, but then you see the feats and physical capabilities of and you realize how much of a curb stomp they all are.
Unfortunately, most fans don't think about the numbers when suggesting battles. They want battles between characters that are similar because the idea sounds cooler. Especially when it comes to Marvel vs DC. Speedsters, Atlanteans, archers, gods, sidekicks. And of course Bats vs Spiders (I'm surprised they haven't done Black Cat vs Catwoman yet)
Lets be honest they dont care about numbers they just want justifications for their favorite hero. Lots of people agree with DB when they are winning but the opposite when they lose
