I wasn’t sure what is meant by being more “open”. Then I bought and used them and the sound is so realistic you question whether or not they are actually working. They sound like you would expect to hear things without having earbuds, if that makes any sense. I actually took them out to be sure. Love them!

I really want to buy these! I miss my old AirPods Pro!! My main concern for these 2nd gen is the mesh grills getting clogged and dirty. I had this issue with the 1st gen AirPods Pro. Despite taking really good care of them and cleaning my ears and gently cleaning them. Transparency mode muffled and had AirPods replaced under warranty 3 times. It was too much of a hassle so I sold them when I got new replacements.
Brian, that was an excellent review. Do you believe it cancels more background noise so the listener won’t hear as much background sound? In your example, it seemed pretty clear it did reduce background sound. In longer test, do you think it is clearly better?
This is the only decent video review that I've been able to find so far - love the AB test for microphone quality vs the 1st gen. The only thing I wish you would add is a test of automatic device switching between an iPhone and a mac - this has never worked reliably for me with previous airpods, and would be a major factor that could prompt me to upgrade. Oh also, hearing about Hey Siri responsiveness would be great too - it's been really annoying to use voice control where I have to speak over a podcast for a second or two before Siri would actually respond. Would love to know if they tightened that up.
I received my AirPods Pro Mk 2 yesterday afternoon. Today, I went down to my local pub for lunch and beer, with my 11" M1 iPad Pro and the new AirPods. Both the noise cancellation and the transparency modes are way better than on the first version, and I noticed there was a lot more battery left after over 4 hours of use in both the AirPods and the case than I expected. Also, I would say the listening experience was better. I think they are a significant improvement over the first AirPods Pro.

It’s not gonna change much even if they add it. These are not studio reference headphones. Even if you stream at a very high bitrate, the frequency response is not quite there. It might sound a bit better but barely noticeable
The original AirPods Pro had noticeably rolled-off treble. However, the custom spatial feature introduced in iOS16 has dramatically improved both the treble and soundstage for the original Pros in my ears. So for those of you considering dropping $$$ on these, try setting up the custom spatial on your old ones first.

I just upgraded from Airpods 2 (2018) and im blown away. I didnt expected so much better sound and all those features. Bass is OP in comparison with my old Airpods. Best 260€ ive ever spent lol.

I got them for a week, very happy with them, I already got airpods max, but these are great for the office, regarding battery life I got 7 full hours until 7% of the battery
Just got them myself because my originals broke- not a huge difference. However, find my is excellent - works identical to AirTags. Noise cancellation way better. Other than that, sounds slightly better but not a huge difference
Best video on AirPods Pro 2 after watching a few and after watching I realized why I couldn't get the volume controls to work. I had the AirPods Pro 2 tips angled wrong, once corrected I have them working. The volume control is indeed a great item.

Airplane review usage - good to hear your take! I recently bought Bose 700 (great fit for my head / ears) at an obscenely good price for cross country trips. #1 attribute - Find My for case! Lost my AirPods Pro a year ago and couldn’t justify paying again, but will now. They were just ok for planes. Will be buying AirPods Pro 2 soon for exercise activity / compact on the go usage. Couldn’t get a great fit for Pro 1. They occasionally would fall out / loosen.
Excellent video and review! The only thing missing (and it's all reviews not just this one) is the problem with sleeping with them in. Do they come out easily? Will they super hurt if you're a side sleeper? Nobody tests or reviews for that it seems. The most I get is "that's not what they're made for!" Well, why not? More and more people use them at night for asmr or headspace or just ambient or white noise. But when they hurt the inner ear, it sucks.
Great video mate, if people are having problems with fit with the tips then try Dekoni or Sedna Earfit Xelastec. For people with deeper pockets and would like a custom fit then Snugs in the U.K. do custom tips, you just need to send in your ear impressions, they ship worldwide. I have the originals and as I am in the Apple ecosystem think I will pick up a pair from Colorware. I hope you get to try and demo the Noble Fokus H-ANC from Noble Audio, tuned by the Wizard himself, it’s a hybrid two driver per side, also try the Fokus Pro, it’s a passive noise cancelling TWS, four driver per side Hybrid, two BA and one Dynamic, I have one and for music can’t stop listening to it.

@@Darth_Dave88 much easier to make IEMs sound better than overears because of how head related transfer functions work. That being said, the APM have very low distortion even at high SPL, and a pretty harmon tuned response. It's just that they won't "obviously" sound better

I have the original airs pro. I love them. But I am getting the second gen today. They are literally on their way now. I am really excited to hear the difference. Great video. You can really hear the voice clarity is better on the AirPods Pro 2. Also so glad you can now adjust the volume on the stems.

I got the second gen on the weekend. I would best describe them as a small upgrade in every way. Noise cancellation, quality, etc. are they worth the upgrade depends... My old ones were going on me and out of warranty, they still functioned but occasionally my voice would fade when talking. If you make 6 figures and value sound then I would recommend it regardless of the state of your current ones. Otherwise I would say it depends if your other ones are good then I don’t know if it’s necessarily super urgent tbh

The bottom sensor on the first AirPods Pro was not for any sort of ventilation... it isn't even open. It's literally just the sensor to detect if the earbuds are in your ear.
I will say that was my issue with beats pro. They drain lots of battery if they are outside of the case! even with bluetooth off or there's nothing playing. i'm getting these tomorrow.

I did try all tips. I could not get them to stay in. I was on an airplane, my left earbud popped out and if it weren’t for the person behind me, I would have lost it! That and they just hurt my ears! Maybe some other type of tips?
I like the new volume control feature, but I already own 2 sets of the Gen 1 pros and I'm not going to spend more $ to get minimal sound improvement and volume control.

Spotify has the worst audio quality. They didn't deliver Hi-Fi as promised, unfortunately. Apple Music is better.

TLDR is yes it's worth it. Built-in AirTag, improved ANC, better battery life, apps watch charger compatible, and volume adjustment from step

I use the 1st gen pro mostly on Zoom calls and meetings. Almost never for music. I wonder if it's worth an upgrade to the 2nd gen.
