Pay close attention to every solar flare from this point forward. There is an image that flashes onscreen for a very short time. You have to pause on the right moment to see it clearly. This time it is Freeza’s head on a muscular body
And said muscular body was in the shower lathering up, a follow up joke from the first solar flare in episode 10 where Vegeta said "it's like walking in on Frieza in the shower"
@@anthonydeadman I mean, the videos are still up and any reactions to them too Although sometimes they get demonetized, so it's good to look out for the solar flares anyway, in case it needs censoring Plus the 2 frames of the image are still there, so....... yeah
I don't comment often on videos, but I just wanted to say that for a reaction channel. It's actually refreshing that you guys take the time to give your reactions before and after. Instead of just blinking and smiling throughout the video and then be like. "Well thanks guys, see you guys at the next one! Don't forget to subscribe!". Shows effort.. Thumbs up. :)
Hey thanks so much for taking the time to comment and for the kind words on the channel. We enjoy talking after the reaction. And then learning more in comments from community as well 😀
Dodoria is originally male, but one thing I love about this episode is that when she asks vegeta how he learned to sense energy they play it off like that. It's never explained how Vegeta picked it up so fast just by visiting earth
Yeah, Saiyans can learn skills super easily just by seeing them (Goku figured out the Kamehameha after seeing it once) but, like, you can't SEE ki sensing. Soooo.....
Yeah, as the creators have said: By this point, they started being less referential and "lol, random" with their humor and started thinking, "Oh hey, we have these characters and their personalities, so let's see how these characters work off one another." That said, one of their favorite happy accidents, and you'll see this down the line, is that they set up a very specific dynamic between Vegeta and Frieza, and there comes a point where Vegeta gets traded out for Goku, and they were worried about this...until they actually started writing it and realizing just how hilarious that new dynamic potentially is, which became the point where a lot of people started seeing this show as more than just a parody.
Kind of a running gag is Killian can use Solar Flare, which is proven to almost always work on just about every villain in the series and he can use Kienzan (or Destructo Disc) which is stated (at least in the manga) to be able to cut anything in half. So technically he could have ended most fights just by blinding someone and cutting them in half, but he never combines the 2 moves. Kinde of my fav running joke in the series. Yeah, obviously that would cut most arcs really short and it's boring to do that but give Killian a win man.
TFS are currently having a serious where they react to each episode while commenting on what was going on at that time or why they used certain jokes. Quite fun to watch.
Krillin is pretty funny, in the original he was pretty much the ultimate bro always there for you and had your back even though he progressively gets outclassed by all the villains in DBZ.
It is kinda cute, like i said a while ago the Namakians are asexual and male-only. In the original show Dende actually ask Gohan: "What is a woman?" = (missed joke) "A unknown species Little green, specially this Bulma!", probably get kicked in the butt for that. Missed Krillin Owned counter 😅
In the original series, Dodoria is never stated to be female and is more or less considered male. The change in gender was done for comedy. However, Dodoria was said to be a woman in the Hungarian dub of the anime. Also, the "Little Green" joke is a reference to a very old dub of DBZ produced by the French company: AB Groupe. This dub was infamous for its hilarious terrible voice acting and bizarre name changes, specifically Piccolo being renamed "Big Green" (hence why said dub is usually referred to as the "Big Green" Dub).
Vegeta definitely steals the show for a lot of the Namek arc. I'm glad you guys are enjoying him even without the icon that is Nappa, too. Everyone misses Nappa, but the guys at Team Four Star did a great job of making the characters solid enough to stand on their own. And it's Zarbon, Ken. Zarbon. You are trying to remember Zarbon. And don't worry. Assuming you guys haven't recorded the next episode's reaction yet, you'll definitely get enough to remember him in the next couple episodes (:
Love your reactions! You and Blind wave are the only reaction channels that I stay for the discussion after the reaction. Following your RWBY and DBZA series.
"Lessons from Kenny" sounds friendlier and more homey. "Lessons from Ken" is "shoot your friend in the head if he panics" and "this cliff has a comfy bottom". Dodoria is male in the original. Vegeta and Piccolo and Vegeta and Cel (you'll meet later) are on a whole other level of deconstructing the stereotypes of the show. Zarbon is also a treat in sarcasm.
Goku's naivete is what makes him so enjoyable. It's not a 1:1 for how he is in the series proper, but he has a similar happy-go-lucky attitude, if less oblivious. Also, later on, there WILL be a few non-episodes with some AMAZING cameos you should see. It isn't for a long while, but it's TOTALLY worth it.
I recall in the original series Zarbon and Dedoria had no character or development to them to make them interesting, and I mean they barely had much lines and personality. Abridged did an excellent job in making them actual characters.
Ah, a new DBZA reaction. The weekend is now complete. Dodoria was a male in the show. Making Dodoria female was just for the sake of the gag and getting Vegeta's reaction. And yes, Vegeta is the most fun character by far. The more time goes on, the more entertaining he becomes. The character in the actual show is more complex; in fact, he's got one of the most complete character arcs in all of fiction (the DBZA version does give him a lot of depth and complexity, but they of course have to go for the gags at a lot of his deeper moments). But the Abridged incarnation of him is kind of like the real Vegeta, but with the volume turned up. The real character has the same arrogance and snark, but he's more intelligent and grounded than his abridged incarnation (Vegeta's actually one of the most intelligent characters in the series and has one of the best battle IQs). Vegeta is probably my favorite fictional character.
Hope the Sunday is treating Everyone FANTASTICALLY!!! I got an ice cold Jameson, ready to laugh! There isn't a moment I'm not chuckling at this. Lets start the week off right!
Dodoria in the original show is a man. also, and this goes without saying, the original show is WAY different than the abridged version. the abdriged version is played mostly for laughs while still having serious moments. for reference, Nappa in the original is WAY more brutal and rough rather than stupid in the abridged version. :) Nappa's death in the original is basically the same. :)
The song Goku was listening to is from a kids show called Lazytown that became fuel for a lot of internet humor. I think here it's mostly just to highlight his childish nature
Here in the next few episodes, shits gonna start popping off hard. You'll bounce between laughing like a lunatic and having your feelings pushed through a cheese grater.
Dodoria in the original was male. TFS just thought it would be funny to make him female. Might have something to do with how in the early 90's everyone thought Freeza was female because of the 1st English voice actor, I certainly did when I was 9 yrs old (32 now). Also plays back to the joke they made with Krillin saying "That things a GUY?!" Freaky Alien Genotype
It's the lips. It's traditionnaly a way of distingwich guys from girls in all animated cartoon since the 1920's. So Dodoria having puffy colorfull lips? Yep, it's checks out ^^
Those are all valid points and id like to add to it with the fact that many male characters in anime get voiced by female voice actresses. For instance, the original voice for goku was actually done by a female voice actress. Same with the Japanese voice for Edward Elric of the anime full metal alchemist: brotherhood... among many others.
The only thing I don't like about these reactions to DBZA is that they're not more often. But of course you have other things to react to so I understand. I just love seeing you guys watch this 😆
Youre spot on when you were thinking that their personalities are the same in the series, but with abridged they exaggerated it and made humour out of their character flaws and personalities
That’s smart on their part. It’s why the show seems to work. And then with Popo we heard they went the complete t of how he is in the show which is another way to handle it and create some humor 😊
Remember when i said in the Bardock Special: How strong he got, and Dodoria almost killed him in one blast? And Vegeta here killed Dodoria in one Blast.

Been enjoying the opening exchanges between you two, always gets a chuckle out of me. Also sure Vegeta may have gone a bit overboard with Dodoria, but then I think of how many people likely begged Dodoria for mercy, and my pity well runs dry. You had this coming, Dodoria. Dodoria is male in the canon, but the idea of Dodoria being female is probably one of the best jokes TFS could likely get out of that situation. It actually connects to another joke, but I won't spoil the punchline here. Dodoria lacks much in the way of character and kind of only exists as the brute muscle that showcases how strong Vegeta has gotten. On one hand, cool that Vegeta has been dropping villains left and right. On the other hand, Vegeta isn't an ally, and should he turn his attention to Gohan and Krillin... There was one joke that might have flown by, not sure, but it will be a recurring one. Krillin's signature attack, Destructo Disc, is basically an energy buzzsaw that can cut through people even way above Krillin's paygrade, such as when he actually managed to cut open Nappa's face. The Japanese name of the move is Kienzan, so you'll probably be hearing the question often of "Why didn't you use your Kienzan?" Speaking of Japanese terms we have Zenkai. That thing Vegeta mentioned about saiyans getting stronger every time they nearly die? That is called a Zenkai, and it is basically a percentage boost to a saiyan's power level for every comeback they manage. Because it is a percentage, the higher the saiyan's base power, the bigger the Zenkai. It is a pretty busted ability, and Goku is about to maliciously abuse it. A common thing you'll be seeing throughout the series will be gravity chambers, where saiyans train under intense gravity which basically wrecks their bodies on purpose. Not only do they get the standard benefits of training, but they even get a Zenkai boost on top of it. Which, to be fair, Goku will need if he's going to measure up to his opponents on Namek. After all, he only barely matched Vegeta, and that was with four stacked layers of Kaioken. Quick side note, you might have caught a brief glimpse of an image during Krillin's Solar Flare. It's a running gag ever since Vegeta made the comment of "It's like walking in on Frieza while he's in the shower", basically from here on every time someone fires a Solar Flare there will be a comically disturbing image interlaced in the flashing lights. If you want to frame skim to see them, that is your call to make... I just advise not doing so during the reaction video itself, because while the joke is funny and all, I've seen other reaction videos get in hot water from poppa RUclips over it. I'm sure there's some other stuff I missed, but to be real, this comment book has gone on long enough. That being said, Goku has been added to the leaderboard. He's got a lot of training ahead of him, and but a week to do it in. Here's hoping he can catch up! Frieza: 353 Raditz Vegeta: 16 Raditz Zarbon: 15.3 Raditz Dodoria: 14.6 Raditz Cui: 12 Raditz Goku: 6.6 Raditz Namekian Warriors: 2 Raditz Krillin: 1.2 Raditz Gohan: 1.2 Raditz

@@DefinitelyNotDefinitive2 It's not really a singular moment per se. More like... an achievement of a lifetime for any man, super powers or no. You'll understand eventually.
3:16 Oh? Did you miss the beginning of the running joke with Solar Flare having some "blinding" image in it?
9:35 I mean, no one cared enough to ask, but 99.9% no.
We did miss the solar flare. Might pause those off camera and then let people know haha because we heard they can be…something 😳

They never said ether o if Dodoria was female or male. So it’s not not out of the realm possibility
