Real cool roadtrip??? no Water Trip story you did there and makes fun t watch your video. Thanks for that! And of course would be nice to have such a Spine set for my next Windsuftrip ;-)
Somewhat twenty years ago I went over from Naxos to Paros once with two buddies. It was no problem. In Tarifa we were always talking about going over to Morocco. Once we out there and shouting at each other 'now we 're going over!'. We did it, I was in front, surfing, surfing, surfing. Once I looked back, both friends not visible. They returned already. I went quite close, everything clear to see in the Moroccan side. Then jibed and went back. It was no problem, just the huge ships were a bit scary, but enough place in between.
Amazing!!! My grandfather was a sailer, and he always say that the Baltic sea is one of the hardest sea's to cross it's unpredictable! ( Greetings from Lithuania)!! :)))
As great as windsurfing is, it can be so much more fun when you have a destination. I live in Chicago and have had the chance to windsurf to work a few times. Trouble keeping things dry though! Love the videos Nico, keep it up!
After a 29 year break, I am coming back to the sport (I windsurfed from 79-94 and experienced the evolution of one design through the custom era). I enjoy watching your videos. Your enthusiasm for the sport is very infectious. Thank you for all of the work and informative videos. It's inspiring to see all the young kids coming up AND the older folks like myself (58 years) come back to the sport!
Hi Nico I’d love a set of those dry cases/bags. Me and a friend are doing long distance sailing, at the moment we are sailing around the Swedish island Gotland 🌊 We are using old Mistral Equipe boards and 7.9 sails both of us to stay at the same pace. As of today we have covered roughly a third of the island. Lovely to see you also joined in on “adventure sailing”🤙 Best regards Peter🌴🌴
Hey Nico how about a tour of North America to some great windsurfing spots like Cape Hatteras, the Columbia Gorge, Squamish and Ho'okipa! Would be a great trip!
Great video! My Dad was from Denmark. He actually worked at LEGO many years ago when the company made wood toys. He moved to Canada to avoid military service when he was 20 and got married. Many years later our family moved to Central America so my parents could retire in the warm weather. He sadly died last year at 84 years old. Anyways really interesting video!!! I would like to try wing foiling one day. Watching from Belize 🏝️
So is the board broken now that you kept on surfing with the hole in it or is it still repairable even with the water that got inside? Tarifa to Morocco sounds like an amazing challenge!
Such an awesome video!!! I always find that doing long distance journeys like that amusing to watch and do. PS: Even without the drone footage, all the action shots are amazing. Kudos to Lars and the skipper.
wow, that's an adventure! :) You should always enable video storage on FPV goggles - it helps in cases like yours. Hope the drone was covered by DJI care.
Hi Nico! I am the guy from Andorra you met in Tarifa last August...As I told you, I have been to Fehmarn and also to Kiel, and I am familiar with the Denmark sight from there. Congrats for the adventure!. An (dangerous because of sharks) idea for your next cruising could be cuba to miami. I know some guys fled Cuba by windsurfing in the early 2000s. You'd be recreating their acomplishment. Best Regards!!! PS: RIP for the drone...
Greetings from Denmark. What an accomplishment. I Never thought about crossing Der Ostsee on a surfboard, and you did it with foils, to get more speed, which I think is so cool. You did a great job on planning and preparing the trip in a safe way. When I started the video I thought it was only one way and did not imagine it even was possible to return. I thought it would not be an option as you clearly would be too exhausted, so I was waiting to see how you had planned the return to Germany. You made me want to windsurf again. Just for now I hang on to kayaking the sea. Thanks for a great video.
Sehr coole Nummer. Da gibt es bestimmt noch einige Strecken zu entdecken. So eine Inselumrundung wie bei dem Foilrace auf Lanzarote ist bestimmt auch eine interessante Aufgabe.
Cool trip. The foil really opens back up the tour-windsurfing! One question: I could not find any rigging/tuning guide for the neilpryde foil sails, specially the flight evos. I do struggle a bit how to properly set it up for various conditions (flight evo 2). Maybe a future video for you? Cheers from se sauth ;)
Great to see something a little different and glad you didn't get becalmed. For your next adventure, how about a leisurely trip from Guernsey (Channel Islands) to the UK's south coast (eg Weymouth or Salcombe) some 80 miles across one of the busiest shipping lanes in Europe with a large tidal range and fast currents, perhaps with a stop-over in France (eg Cherbourg) on the way back? You won't be short of wind (average annual windspeed is 11 knots).
Could you do a video about positions to sail in to avoid back pain perhaps? :) If I go on longer surfs in one direction, I often really start feeling a side on my lower back from (I think) an awkard harness position. However no tuning of the harness lines forward or backward have helped out. Either I have the feeling I need to pull the sail forward with the harness or my back hand gets way too much pressure. Oh and awesome content :D
Nice video we have some windy days in Kiel so I just came out of the water I like the idea of sailing from Tarifa to Africa would be an interesting video
Really liked the adventure. You made me even more hyped for what I'm going to do this winter. I want to go around a few islands in the Caribbean to raise money for the iqfoil Senior set. I myself do windsurfing at a high leven here in Holland on the IQFOIL u19 set. Do you have any tips for arranging these kinds of things would help a lot. Hope to see you some day and windsurf with you🤙🤙
Hi Nico, really hardcore in this wind 👍🏼 congrats to you and Gunnar 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I surfed this way in the 90es with better wind. What about the way to Helgoland? Or from Sylt to Cuxhaven? Or complete friese Island from Texel to Wangerooge? Or an easier turn around the Ijsselmeer? Or hardcore Bodden Race on Rügen, from Dranske to Lietzow? Of course the direction of travel depends on the wind.
Very nice video!! Would be nice to surf around the Waddeninsel that I live on. Need to take good precautions because of the tide and current. Inspiring!
Great video! Definitely do Tarifa to Spanish enclave Melilla in Africa. But check if you can cross the busy shipping street and if that is not too dangerous. Happy to take part in the Stigen Test Kit lottery.
I'm a 20 yeaars old windsurfer studying all this stuff because in the future I'd like to reach Jerusalem from Italy cost to coast and sleeping in the beach with the tent. Thank you for your video I hadn't seen anything like it until now and I needed it! I know it could be a crazy plan but it's my dream : )
Cool tour. Reminds me of the story of the two guys that fled the DDR from Hiddensee to Møn on self made boards and sails, doing this at night with boats looking to shoot them rather than help them.
There's nothing weirder than demonizing East Germany when West Germany literally underwent a process of re-nazification including the release of profiteers of Jewish slave labor from prison
Awesome video. What about doing Magellan Detroit between chile and Argentina? Seriously Tarifa to Marocco or Sicily to Tunisia would be fantastic. You just need to take your passport with you!!
I did Naxos to Paros-Island some years ago with my boyfriend and we made similar experiences. But we had no boat an passed a ferryboat with hudge waves. Our gear was old and -luckily didn t brake :-) the wind was better than yours.
What a cool adventure, the idea that you're no longer see land on the water is always exciting. Also great to see that you do everything at once, windsurfing, filming, adjusting the camera and keeping your course. Keep up the nice videos.
Greeting from south of Portugal 🇵🇹 Been watching your videos for a while now. And I found them interesting and I allways learn something 👏 thanks for it , also a great windsurfer , keep going and all the best 💨 About the bags they look super nice ! Im singed in to the GIVE AWAY ! 👍
We did something similar last may, 5 iqfoil boards open water crossing from malta to sicily in the open mediterranean sea. Wind was the same, it get gusty and waves get much bigger out at sea. The muscles definitly become cramped after being in the same position for 3 hours. came second and took me 3 hours 45 minutes to do 95 km non stop, apart from 3 wipeouts. Next year definitly going to try using a 650 frontwing.
Wauh. I have many times dreamed of someone like that. Just being able to continue with a boat by your side. So cool you did it. And you are always welcome in Denmark. 🤙🏖️
Great adventure thanks, also Matteo Iachino is planning a 80 miles trip from Italy to corsica
Hey Mikeflower!! Congrats, you won the Spigen summerpackage!

@@Nico_GER7 thanks I am super happy, thanks
I received the kit! I am super happy thanks to you and spiegen :)
Next time maybe trip between Canary Islands? Lanzarote->Fuerteventura->Canaria->Teneriffe->Gomera->Hierro->Palma. Divided for few days
Real cool roadtrip??? no Water Trip story you did there and makes fun t watch your video. Thanks for that! And of course would be nice to have such a Spine set for my next Windsuftrip ;-)
RTH !?! This drone hasn’t the RETURN TO HOME mode?! (to remote control, in this case;). Anyway, good video ; the forecast wasn’t ideal 😰😅👍😜🤟
Then jibed and went back. It was no problem, just the huge ships were a bit scary, but enough place in between.
Nice one, poor Oleg should win the prize for most suffering - I just ordered a Spigen waterproof case!
Wow!! Maybe I will try my own smaller trip🤔
Amazing!!! My grandfather was a sailer, and he always say that the Baltic sea is one of the hardest sea's to cross it's unpredictable! ( Greetings from Lithuania)!! :)))
What a great video, again!! I love wachting your channel!
Whaaaauw what a great video, 2 mates having a blast, nice music, good footage, next up; your surfstore in holland to kiel home, finned board🙏🤔
Superb video and great achievment. Well done to all.
Next time try it using the same kit as used by Dirk Deckert and Karsten Klünder 😁😁
super video. next trip maybe france to england?
hi nico i saw you and i was comfused how did you make it ? awsome video bravo!
As great as windsurfing is, it can be so much more fun when you have a destination. I live in Chicago and have had the chance to windsurf to work a few times. Trouble keeping things dry though! Love the videos Nico, keep it up!
That's cool, from where?
Really crazy trip Nico! But always stay safe.
Such a great video, shame about the wind for the journey!

so Epic, Nico!
Epic production value man. Great work team.
+1 for Tarifa to Africa!
Cool video! Another nice crossing could be between France and the UK
Thank you for letting us follow this adventure!
Hi Nico
I’d love a set of those dry cases/bags.

nice video! now from france to england!
Hi Nico , this year was the 40th anniversary of the Malta to Sicily windsurf race 100km race which started in 1984 .
Very cool. Maybe Anders Bringdal can help organize a chase boat with foils for your next attempt and make it easier for the crew?
Nice content! Cool, dass Ihr das zusammen gemacht habt!! Was gabs danach zu essen? 500g Pasta each?
Villeneuve to Geneva and back. Great video btw!
Hey Nico how about a tour of North America to some great windsurfing spots like Cape Hatteras, the Columbia Gorge, Squamish and Ho'okipa! Would be a great trip!
i had same filings when first time crossed my lake
The Jump with the foil was absolutely beautiful. I looked this jump like literally 10x 🔥🔥🔥
Great video I felt thrilled as I was with you in there!
So awesome! Im a waszp (foiling sailboat) sailor from the US but Im just getting into windsurfing now!
Nico literally you are my idol, my dream is to sail with yoy
Great video! My Dad was from Denmark. He actually worked at LEGO many years ago when the company made wood toys. He moved to Canada to avoid military service when he was 20 and got married. Cool idea and really cool Video. Nice That you did it with Gunnar!
Such an awesome video!!! I always find that doing long distance journeys like that amusing to watch and do.
PS: Even without the drone footage, all the action shots are amazing. Kudos to Lars and the skipper.
Good video again Nico, to bad about the drone, we usualy circle a small island in the Southwest of Holland once a year, nice challenge for an amateur
wow, that's an adventure! :) You should always enable video storage on FPV goggles - it helps in cases like yours. Hope the drone was covered by DJI care.
What a trip! I was on the water (strande) as well at those time and saw them crossing. Impressive! 🤙
Hi Nico! I am the guy from Andorra you met in Tarifa last August...As I told you, I have been to Fehmarn and also to Kiel, and I am familiar with the Denmark sight from there. Congrats for the adventure!.

Best Regards!!!
PS: RIP for the drone...
Those foils where a lot smoother then the dingy. Actually, making that journey on the inflatable was almost as epic!!
the video doesn't need any additional drone footage, it's amazing by itself:)
Greetings from Denmark. What an accomplishment. I Never thought about crossing Der Ostsee on a surfboard, and you did it with foils, to get more speed, which I think is so cool. I thought you'd sail from Hiddensee to Møn like Deckert and Kluender did escaping the DDR. But still impressive, congrats. :)
Sehr coole Nummer. Da gibt es bestimmt noch einige Strecken zu entdecken. So eine Inselumrundung wie bei dem Foilrace auf Lanzarote ist bestimmt auch eine interessante Aufgabe.

Super trip 👍 perhaps next time try tarifa to Morocco tanger.
To bad the drone did not survive the trip.
Would have been epic footage
cool!! i like sailing and have wanted to try windsurfing for a long time now this just makes me want to try even more!!
Great to see something a little different and glad you didn't get becalmed. Thanks a lot for sharing this with us! I really like this because it's outside the competition environment and therefore a bit more relatable.
this is amazing accomplishment. soooo much distance with so much chop
Great to see you take on the challenge and reaching the goal. Lars I bet the drone got some good under water shots.
Great achievement guys! Next time try to cross The Channel.
I was sailor in this route from Gedser to rostock with scandlines kron prins frederik from 2006 to 2008. Nice to se these good minds again
Wow, what a trip, thank you for taking us...! Made my day
Could you do a video about positions to sail in to avoid back pain perhaps? :) If I go on longer surfs in one direction, I often really start feeling a side on my lower back from (I think) an awkard harness position. Nice video we have some windy days in Kiel so I just came out of the water
I like the idea of sailing from Tarifa to Africa would be an interesting video
Starkes Video! Respekt für die Leistung der Windsurfer & Bootfahrer 😄😄
Well done! Impressive trip and sorry about the board😢
That was so fun to watch! Great idea and great editing!
What an adventure! It's amazing to me what people are getting up to in terms of long distance sailing with foils.
Really liked the adventure. You made me even more hyped for what I'm going to do this winter. I want to go around a few islands in the Caribbean to raise money for the iqfoil Senior set. Loved this - what an adventure. 🤙🏻 Always wanted one day to not just sail across channel but windsurf… 🇬🇧 🇫🇷 Inspirational.
Awesome sailing i would enjoy the spigen dry bags. Nice one
Hi Nico,
really hardcore in this wind 👍🏼
congrats to you and Gunnar 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I surfed this way in the 90es with better wind.

Excellent video Nico, really good to watch. Loved your shirt !
Do more long challenging trips, round an island next ?
Very nice video!! Would be nice to surf around the Waddeninsel that I live on. Need to take good precautions because of the tide and current. Inspiring!
Great video Nico. Check with Bjorn D but i recall way back he did that Tarifa to Africa crossing and back - could be 30+ years ago!!
Great video! Definitely do Tarifa to Spanish enclave Melilla in Africa. But check if you can cross the busy shipping street and if that is not too dangerous. Happy to take part in the Stigen Test Kit lottery.
Cool journey. You should come out with a cool, big, extra sticky sticker for quick mid-session deck patches in response to your heli-tack damage.
I'm a 20 yeaars old windsurfer studying all this stuff because in the future I'd like to reach Jerusalem from Italy cost to coast and sleeping in the beach with the tent. Thank you for your video I hadn't seen anything like it until now and I needed it!
I know it could be a crazy plan but it's my dream : )
wow, what a crazy trip 😃🏄🏻♂️
Like the video, Nico. This is real windsurfing. Not always plain sailing! Next crossing Calais to Dover?
beautiful experience I hope in the future to be able to do a similar thing. Ciao from italy
Lmao I actually now a guy who did this he lives now in Fuerteventura
Cool adventure!
Keep up the good work!
Amazing video! Its always fun to watch a documentary style video!
Awesome achievement guys...
Awesome video. What about doing Magellan Detroit between chile and Argentina? Seriously Tarifa to Marocco or Sicily to Tunisia would be fantastic. You just need to take your passport with you!!
As a beginner it's so inspiring to see what is possible to achieve in this sport. Looking forward to the next windsurfing session!
Great video! Very new to windsurfing and your videos have been inspiring and get me excited to learn more 😍
Outstanding!!! Would like to see more of such footage... Maybe a trip from France to England and back.. :)
Great video Nico
I did Naxos to Paros-Island some years ago with my boyfriend and we made similar experiences. But we had no boat an passed a ferryboat with hudge waves. Our gear was old and -luckily didn t brake :-) the wind was better than yours.
Good Job Lars, .... Respect to all Guys out there in the sea
Great trip and video. Lars: "You're gonna need a bigger boat" ;)
I will keep that in mind 😂
Congrats !! Thanks for sharing it. Nice movie! Love it.
It looked amazing I’m living in Denmark so it was a little bit fun to see your race to Denmark
What a cool adventure, the idea that you're no longer see land on the water is always exciting. Also great to see that you do everything at once, windsurfing, filming, adjusting the camera and keeping your course. Keep up the nice videos.
Fantastic trip. Love the Grand Tour! I'm sorry that you lost the drone, that's a bummer in the summer.
Try the old windsurf end old board
Whoop!! Congrats! How about Sassnitz-Bornholm (sleep under your sails on some beach there) and the next day Bornholm-Ystad?
my eyes were burning when I saw your board on asphalt with no case
Amazing video, really inspires me to go out on the water more.
Greeting from south of Portugal 🇵🇹
Been watching your videos for a while now. And I found them interesting and I allways learn something 👏 thanks for it , also a great windsurfer , keep going and all the best 💨
