I was in college when transformers hit. Fortunately I’ve always been a bit of a geek AND I had two middle school age nephews so I had both motivation and cover to buy transformers. Between the three of us we had most of g1 covered. They grew older, their interests moved on and since I, their “favorite uncle,” had funded so much of the collection, they sent them to me. They were displayed proudly I my bedroom until I got married. Then they were sent to storage, only to be stolen. Had to be kids. My transformers, my RC cars, and gaming miniatures all disappeared. But my power tools and fishing gear were untouched. I’ve been slowly rebuilding my collection with the help of my two sons. It’s been fun.
Instant G1 collection! That's my favorite part of toy hunting when I come across someone's entire childhood in one swoop and the history that comes along with it. Super generous of your friend to let you have it.
All Transformers goodness but what had me completely is Cosmos 😲...I love the little sucker, Mom use to tell not to bring toys when we were out, then she’d be doing something, looked over and there was Cosmos with a flyby 😂...I miss that bot 😕 Great video Mr Larson, Producer Greg 👍🏽✌🏽
Congratulations! I am really glad you were able to get and share this collection with us. You have presented and handle the toys with knowledge and care. Definitely a great home. Cheers!
RE: The yellowing on Jetfire, some computer restoration people realized a few months back that just straight, direct sunlight is just as effective at reversing plastic yellowing as any proxide/ozone methods. A guy going by Perifractic did a couple videos on it recently. Might be safer for the painted parts than pouring goo all over it.
@@Mr.Jarbles It's possible, but I wouldn't put money on it. It apparently has something to do with the specific type of UV light, which is why sunlight through a window tends to cause yellowing but direct sunlight tends to cause bleaching.
There is a youtubes by the name of 8 Bit Guy who restores a lot of old computers. When he has a white shell with a lot of yellowing he uses a process called retrobrite, which you put the yellowed piece in some water with salon grade peroxide in a crate and put plastic wrap over top. For Jetfire you would probably need to put take it apart to retrobrite the pieces. You might want to check out some of his vids. Also, I was saying "holy crap" whenever he would take out another piece, especially all the transformers (including metroplex and trypticaon) that had all the pieces included.
Wow, seeing Runabout and Runamuck again brings back some serious memories. The Battlechargers sure weren't very great toys, but I remember having them, and they went EVERYWHERE with me.
I recently discovered all my Transformers and GI Joes (even a FLAGG!) in a storage locker of my moms. My Jetfire is just as yellow. That may have been my most wanted Christmas present of all time. I remember in 1st or 2nd grade dreaming of that toy from the moment I saw it in the Christmas catalogue. Every day of school in December it’s all I thought of. Just amazing to have it again. I’ve been having a great time playing with them with my 7 yo.
Congratulations!!!! that is one of the best G-1 videos I ever seen. The Jetfire, computron, and Metro Plex opened the flood gates and the cherry on top was the Macross Mospeda cycle.
LOL'd when I saw that Jetfire. Mine is also sun-tanned, like he spent too many days at the beach. Nice Reflector btw. I've never even seen that. if I remember right you had to send in proofs of purchase to get it through the mail back in the day. Really nice haul! Brings back some memories.
as a g1 collector for the last 30 years ( I took a small break in my teenage years) it is so cool to see someone's score such a huge amazing lot. It makes it so much better that you actually played with this lot when you were younger. Omega Supreme is one of my favs as well! Congrats & enjoy!
That’s an amazing collection. Now you’re just going to have find somewhere to put it all :) Although you’re always looking for tall pieces for the background shelves, so I can at least see Omega Supreme appearing in a few future videos!
So much of my childhood was in this video. Jetfire, Omega Supreme, Scattershot, the twins, Twintwist and Topspin, Powerglide. You get my like and my envy.
That is an incredible collection, to continue the awe of just about every other commenter here. I recently pulled out my old crates of toys from my parents attics and the transformers held up from the intense heat and climate change better than almost any other toy line. Matt's mom is a true MVP!!!
That is a hell of a haul. Makes me think of the ones my own friends had that I was jealous of. Also as soon as you picked him up I said aloud "hey it's Counch/Puntercounch" so I guess that's officially A Thing now.
The Valkyrie look almost identical to a knock-off I owned when I was a kid. In terms of size and how it looks to transform as well as the hole in the hand for the gun it's a 100% match. The colours look a little different but those I could be mis-remembering. The big difference as I recall was that the gun was quite different to the standard one. It looked more like a futuristic rifle.
oh Dancougar! they are basically triple changer mechs with a vehicle mode, animal mode, and robot mode who can also together combine into the titular super robot mode, it's an awesome concept for a mech!
As a HUGE Transformers fan, you struck the motherload! I'm still kicking myself for having to give my original collection away when we were going to rotate out (and then we didn't.) Those look better than some originally came out of the box!
I hope you took Matt and his family out for a nice dinner for all this awesomeness! Matt has some really nice parents! Thanks for yet another video reliving my childhood!
For the reflector, he was exclusive to being ordered online by buying a certain amount of the other figures, so he’s a pretty nice find amongst all the other stuff
I am full of envy! You got several pieces that I used to have, but disappeared between me moving out and my mom giving me all the boxes from my old room. I particularly feel the loss of Reflector!
That red paint on Skydive, the F-16 Aerialbot, around the 10:30 ish mark looks and feels rough as it shouldn't be on there - he's normally gray. Looks like Matt did a little re-deco of his own on him.
Hah! I had Topspin as well, never knew his name, got him at a Goodwill I think... now I know his name! Amazing that the rubber on all those tires are in such excellent condition. Great collection sir!
a light spritz of WD-40 works wonders on mechanical joints, especially ones with metal clicky bits like jetfire, cuz it not only lubes, but helps remove oxidation 👍🏽
I had Omega Supreme growing up and lost all but some accessories. That was a complicated Transformer to assemble but I figured it out. Also, your friend is really generous.
Holy haul! I would just spread those out on my bed and roll around in them. This is worth hundreds, but of course even better having a personal connection to them.
What an incredible collection! I love that the condition of everything was surprisingly good and there is so much of it. It's particularly cool to get stuff that personal to you in that it was your friend's stuff. I was fortunate to have a similar experience a few years ago with some GIJoe items. I think one of them was even originally mine that I gave to my friend in the 80s.
I walk out of my bedroom on Christmas morning 1986 and sitting in the middle of the living room floor sits omega. Not wrapped just the mighty omega because being just my dad and myself on our own no need for making a gift look pretty. It was the most memorable gift a I ever got
Damn those are in really good shape. Toyboner activated. Edit: Jetfire looks like he’s been residing in a smokey bar. The yellowing is strong with this one.
You could try a liquid mask on the painted parts of Jetfire, although I'm not sure how it reacts with hydrogen peroxide. I have both, so will test, although may be missing some sunshine.
You flashed Brawn and Outback's undercarriages, and for a flickering instant I was nine years old again. I haven't seen their faces in decades, and they haven't aged a day.
I had that Dancougar set! I have no idea why. I didn't even know what it was called until I looked it up recently. My guess is that my mom ordered it out of a catalog or something. In theory, it's still stored somewhere back home. It's one piece that I'd really love to be able to find.
James Andrew Johnstone I damn sure was just about to type the same comment...seeing these and always wanting them since childhood has me colored in a bright shade of green... To be honest though, I’m just really glad to these in great shape and brings back the memories.
That was a very nice haul. This past Xmas I decided to start collecting G1 again. Partly cause of your videos and Wal-Mart releasing G1 stuff. I found the Devastator gift set there which is what pushed me over the edge. I do have some stuff to send you but time and money haven't been on my side lately. LOL
I had both Twintwist and Top Spin as a kid. They were okay, nothing too special for me. I also remember, when I was a donation dock worker at a local secondhand store at the time, coming across a possibly complete, in-box G1 Omega Supreme. it was all I could do to not snatch it up (it was a new donation, at the time, and employees couldn't grab any items until they've been on the floor for at least 2 hours).
I had an Overdrive way back when it first came out, but couldn't remember his name. It was mail order only and to a child like me, that 5 - 6 weeks for delivery felt like 5 - 6 years. I really miss my Transformers collection. (And Gobot and GiJoe).
I love yellowed white figures, i dunno like to me it shows character and just how long it's been around, i think half my Kenner 77 Stormtroopers are good and naturally yellowed and of course a few of my other toys and NES games
Damn, dude. You had an entire childhood of Christmas fantasies dropped in your lap there.
After years of catch-up play 😆
Matt's parents were clearly awesome at spending the serious toy bucks in the 80s, well done 👏🏻
Matt's mom is a wonderful woman for not tossing these
All hail Matt's Mom🙌
Thank you, that's very friendly of you young man!
As a huge TF fan since 1984, holy crap, I am insanely jealous. Every time you pulled out a new figure, I was just like, "NO WAYYYYY!" 😮
I was in college when transformers hit. Fortunately I’ve always been a bit of a geek AND I had two middle school age nephews so I had both motivation and cover to buy transformers. DUDE! That is a haul and a half! You owe your buddy at least a fine dinner!
All Transformers goodness but what had me completely is Cosmos 😲...I love the little sucker, Mom use to tell not to bring toys when we were out, then she’d be doing something, looked over and there was Cosmos with a flyby 😂...I miss that bot 😕
Great video Mr Larson, Producer Greg 👍🏽✌🏽
Man, way to go matt! That's a good friend. You cant put a price on that kind of score! congrats!
Reflector!!! Such a sick score Dan. Thanks for sharing.
This brought back so much nostalgia and memories of playing with my older brother's hand me down Transformers.
Be VERY careful with Metroplex's waist joint. That thing breaks faster than a glass bottle thrown by angry drunk.
Congratulations! I am really glad you were able to get and share this collection with us. You have presented and handle the toys with knowledge and care. Definitely a great home. Cheers!
Epic Transformers haul, Dan.

Tested this theory w/ some old SW stormtroopers not long ago. Not perfect but an improvement. Wondering if a UV flashlight would work as well?
@@Mr.Jarbles It's possible, but I wouldn't put money on it. It apparently has something to do with the specific type of UV light, which is why sunlight through a window tends to cause yellowing but direct sunlight tends to cause bleaching.
How interesting. I just commented that exposing old plastic to UV light returns it's whiteness.

I always seen the sun as a strong corosive agent ,inside and out, raidiation is a bitch
Oh my gawd, what an amazing friend to give you all these. Super awesome. And the Jetfire ❤️
Exquisite collection!
dont know if someone commented this or not yet,Metroplex tank is called slammer, black car is called scamper, also skytread was called flywheels in G1
Wow, seeing Runabout and Runamuck again brings back some serious memories. The Battlechargers sure weren't very great toys, but I remember having them, and they went EVERYWHERE with me.

Man I can just feel your joy. Happy for you my dude along with knowing that you clearly have an amazing friend.

An almost never-ending stream of G1 goodness in one outstanding vid - much respect to your friend, too!
Absolutely Amazing!!!! You are so fortunate to have such a great friend!
Dan my man...you hit the G1 Transformers jackpot!!! Awesome acquisitions! 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
Computron was the only complete combiner I owned back in the day. He'll always have a special place in my heart.
the way you said GOOO at 8:54 made me laugh really hard
dude, he butchered your name later on.
This a an great box...wow...Matt's mom is the best👍👍😂
LOL'd when I saw that Jetfire. Mine is also sun-tanned, like he spent too many days at the beach. Nice Reflector btw. I've never even seen that. if I remember right you had to send in proofs of purchase to get it through the mail back in the day. Really nice haul! Brings back some memories.

FOR SURE
Love this video!! Love G1!! Missing the same small yellow clip on my Omega Supreme. Thanks for posting this awesome video!
I only watch Photobooths when I'm tired and it always manages to energizes me.... 😂😂😂
Matt must have loved those toys, they are in such great shape...what a great way to grow a collection!
OMG!!! Jackpot! Thank you for showing us this. What a blessing.
That is one amazing friend!!!👍😁
Congratulations on such a cool haul of Transformers.👍
So much of my childhood was in this video. Jetfire, Omega Supreme, Scattershot, the twins, Twintwist and Topspin, Powerglide. You get my like and my envy.
3:52 My brother and I had trypticon, and the wheel squeak of the cannon just brought back so many memories LOL
That G1 Reflector is the prize of this lot as far as I'm concerned. It was a mail order only with the little transformer points. Lucky you!
That is a AWESOME collection of G1 goodness.
That is an incredible collection, to continue the awe of just about every other commenter here. I recently pulled out my old crates of toys from my parents attics and the transformers held up from the intense heat and climate change better than almost any other toy line. Matt's mom is a true MVP!!!

I mean, Jetfire was, technically, a knockoff in the first place.
WOW! I had a lot of those toys including the Dan Couger. Thanks for the memories!
Awesome. Really cool to see the mail ins. I had reflector, but he was the only mail in I had enough points to get. Never saw one of the other ones.
I would imagine you owe that friend a high-quality meal and numerous adult beverages of his choosing. Extremely nice haul!
oh Dancougar! they are basically triple changer mechs with a vehicle mode, animal mode, and robot mode who can also together combine into the titular super robot mode, it's an awesome concept for a mech!

Wow, that is a great friend, and he was extremely good with his toys and accessories!
Matt must be code for Ritchie Rich! What no USS FLAGG? Hope you treated Matt to a nice steak dinner. Thanks for sharing your haul.
I hope you took Matt and his family out for a nice dinner for all this awesomeness! Matt has some really nice parents! Thanks for yet another video reliving my childhood!
That's one big pile of Transformers, thanks Dan!
For the reflector, he was exclusive to being ordered online by buying a certain amount of the other figures, so he’s a pretty nice find amongst all the other stuff

What a haul!! The only combiner I had was Devastator. Even that was a lot of paper route money back in the day! Congrats!
Goddamn, that's a small fortunes worth of Transformers Matt's given you there, what an awesome friend!
That red paint on Skydive, the F-16 Aerialbot, around the 10:30 ish mark looks and feels rough as it shouldn't be on there - he's normally gray. Looks like Matt did a little re-deco of his own on him.
That has got to be the BEST toy haul EVER!!!!

Amazing collection Dan the aerial bots also connect to Metroplex 👍👍
AWESOME COLLECTION TO ADOPT! CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR HAUL !
Awesome collection! I started collecting some of the newer versions of the ones I had as a kid.
Wow man. Thats a dream collection right there. So many hard to find late releases and exclusives. Very jealous!
What an incredible collection! I love that the condition of everything was surprisingly good and there is so much of it. Grats dude. That's an epic haul. Soopa pumped for ya
That haul is MASSIVE! Holy crap!
You could try a liquid mask on the painted parts of Jetfire, although I'm not sure how it reacts with hydrogen peroxide. I have both, so will test, although may be missing some sunshine.
This brings tears to my eyes.
it's so cool that you've already played with most of this loot, in its prime!
Nice haul! That counts as decently sized collection!
What an amazing haul. This video was a pleasure to watch
Man, I would love a box of robots just delivered to me! What a gift!
You flashed Brawn and Outback's undercarriages, and for a flickering instant I was nine years old again. I haven't seen their faces in decades, and they haven't aged a day.
This is literally my dream haul. Gen 1 is my jam!!
Im just stoked for a new Toy Galaxy vid! You guys are great.
That is a awesome G1 haul brother YEAHHH!!!
I am so envious. This was a monster haul.
Sweet mother of Cthulhu that is so awesome! Looking at this is so impressive.
Very very nice haul man!!! I see much of my childhood here!
Fantastic haul Dan. Like winning the lottery for G1 collectors.
Lol looks like my house. Same Transformers That I have. Looks like Mat had excellent taste in Transformers.
Oh the feels
Top Spin and Twintwist were part of the Titans Return releases and are my 2 favourite deluxe figures in that line 👍🏻
I had that Dancougar set! I have no idea why. I didn't even know what it was called until I looked it up recently. My guess is that my mom ordered it out of a catalog or something.
In theory, it's still stored somewhere back home. It's one piece that I'd really love to be able to find.
Awesome find....i always wanted jetfire👀👀👀😂 look howtall his figure is...awesome great video
Would love to have a friend as generous as yours.
I'm 1 very jealous viewer.
Enjoy them all.
James Andrew Johnstone I damn sure was just about to type the same comment...seeing these and always wanting them since childhood has me colored in a bright shade of green...
To be honest though, I’m just really glad to these in great shape and brings back the memories.
I had either forgotten or didn't know Dancouga was released in the Godakin line, the SOC is great

Reflektor was a mail order guy too. I remember lusting over those catalogs. And the GI Joe ones too.
jaw dropping haul!!!! the hits didnt stop!

Also, your Skydive there has been painted red
LOL the only person *I* knew growing up who had Omega was my friend Matt. What is it with Matts?
I love those magnets! I'd love to have some, but can't imagine them being easy to find... Oh well, I'll still take a look. :)
I had an Overdrive way back when it first came out, but couldn't remember his name. It was mail order only and to a child like me, that 5 - 6 weeks for delivery felt like 5 - 6 years. I really miss my Transformers collection. (And Gobot and GiJoe).
Awesome vid! Brilliant commentary by Dan! :)
