We were in Bari on 2022, I agree with you that Bari is a beautiful city and I fell very safe when I was there. Our tour guide was not very good, a little disorganized, but when we finished the tour (2hrs) we explored the city on our own and really enjoyed.
We love seeing your intro but it’s more fun to hear in person 😜 I just love how you can both laugh at these hiccup moments. It does look like a charming town. Such great advice on the tours as well.

So sorry your pasta making class was not a full class. We did one outside of Rome. Pasta making with Nana. Started by a woman who was fired for being pregnant. She now employs the entire family. The aunts and grandmas all teach the class and the younger members do everything else. Yes we had hand washing before but it was in a cute little town. Learned several pasta making techniques etc. then a full lunch with multiple wines etc. glad you got your money back.
I'm LOVING your videos and your adventures! Couple goals for sure. What an amazing trip. Do you ever have time where you just want to stay in your room to decompress from your travels? I feel like I would want 5 days here and there where I'm not going anywhere and could just have quiet time.
We have gotten off on every single port. But yes, we both need time to decompress at times for a few hours just to be alone. There’s so much noise and activity all over the ship. Alone time is good.

Hello! I feel your distress with this bait and switch tour. A long time ago, I took a tour - I cannot remember how I stumbled upon the tour, but it was very similar to what you experienced. The tour was from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea with I believe a tour of Masada. Sounds interesting right? The “expert bilingual” guide took us on a bus that stopped at greasy spoon restaurants where he was clearly being paid to steer us to - the food was inedible. Then the Dead Sea experience was far from what I imagined. The beach and facilities despite being a top tourist destination was filthy and the water felt like being in a vat of oil. At Masada I attempted to inquire with the guide when we would return to Jerusalem. He actually said 72 BC. He had no idea what I was saying. Upon return from this day tour, I and several others let the tour company know that the tour was not what was advertised. We were refunded the fee. Lucky thing because the taxi to Ben Gurion was another rip-off. I dozed as the ride would take some time. I woke to find myself in taxi parked at airport. He was just going to sit there and let me sleep and run the meter. Thank goodness I awoke in time to make my flight.
Oh sorry for your experiences. And unfortunately, we just don’t know what the end result of our tour will actually be. We just have to go by reviews. We’ve certainly had some crazy excursions not what we expected.
We use a variety of companies. We just look for excursions that are visiting the places we want to see. We use Shore Excursions Group, Viator, , get your guide, and just do Google searches as well.
So sorry your tour was not good, but I’m happy you got a full refund. We had a similar experience recently in Rome, and did not get a refund. It was the first time we had such a bad experience with a third party tour booking operator. It was the only disappointment we experienced during our 11 day tour of Italy. All that said, we loved Italy and highly recommend it as a travel destination.🇮🇹
@@livingphase2 Absolutely. One thing we’ve learned in 30 years of traveling is that sometimes there are bumps along the way, and being flexible with a good attitude is important.

Heard your issue with the tour. I would have stuck to my guns and told them you were not going to change my tour. If they said they are changing it, I would have demanded a refund.
Bari was obviously a big disappointment glad you got the refund. Venice tomorrow brilliant one of my favourite cities but it will bé very hot & crowded esp St Marks Square. Dont éat in the touristy places fine local places. Vist the Doges palace and if possible St Marks Cathedral but bé prepared tó queue. Have a look at the back streets and a very small leather shop ón the Rialto bridge famous from Merchant of Venice. The shop has fabulous hand made journals etc. Enjoy am looking forward to going there later thís month its about a two & half hours flight from here with Aer Lingus.
We are all packed. And right now we’re sitting at the Miami airport waiting for our flight. The airport was chaos with so many people getting off all at once.

We can use the info because we have never used 3rd parties. Only ever booked excursions with the cruise line. So expensive now!

Thank goodness. We are now at the end of the cruise and we had absolutely no trouble with any of the food. We ate throughout the nine months.
