Thanks AJ. It’s really come on hasn’t it. Especially given how small that garden is!! A stitch in time saves nine with the garden at the moment. Making it even better for spring!! Happy gardening. Lee

    Does the pruning stimulate growth?

    • @Gardenninja

Hi Barrios. Is stimulates root growth over vegetative which is what you want when moving plants. Reduce the stress on producing leafy growth when you want the plant to put its efforts into establishing roots! Happy gardening. Lee

For some grasses like festuca you actually need a saw to separate the roots. A knife or spade won't be enough.

Hi Nicolas. For most Festucas they don’t split well as their roots and crown is too dense. Festuca glauca for example doesn’t propagate well from splitting. You end up with patchy regrowth which looks awkward. Seed propagation is the best method. Happy gardening! Lee 🥷🌿

@@Gardenninja I've tried a few times, and it bounces back alright. It's just the first few months where the foliage dies first, then you have to wait for some regrowth, and remove the old foliage. But the sawing is a lot of work, and sowing is probably easier.

That's lovely of you Lee! Thank you!
In order to join it and use the tag, there are some rules on Will it Grow channel. I don't have twitter or I'd do just that! Sorry! I'm an old lady surprised to find herself on RUclips let alone other social media! lol💚~Chris@@Gardenninja
