Every question I had about what a GPS with compass would do and not do was answered here! Awesome attention to detail, thank you for not assuming i things and thoroughly explaining each step necessary! I'll use a link in the description to buy my GPS with compass.
@10:35 trying to write the firmware and still in storage mode. You need to unplug, power down, then plug in while off so it connects with the stm32 driver (I believe the Impulse RC driver fixer may help here) then the companion app will flash the new bootloader followed by the otx firmware.
I’ve been running the TBS nightly build since last year, will be nice to get rid of that warning screen.
Be extra careful with the MicroSD slot as it is extremely fragile specially on the Jumper T-18, I personally plug in the radio and use as a card reader even if it’s slower just so I don’t have to fiddle with inserting the card.
Just FYI - 14:37 the ExpressLRS custom build gives us the ability to flash the .elrs firmware files to supported TX modules straight from the handset (I.e after you flashed the BL).
That was my suspicion. If you always flash via passthrough or WiFi do you need it?
@@JoshuaBardwell passthrough is more for the RXs rather then the TX.
Wifi and USB (for modules that have a USB port) can be used though, and then you wouldn’t need the custom build. The ability to flash .elrs was something that Raph was planning to merge into OTX, but I’m not sure if that’s made it in yet. Haven’t tested if EdgeTX has it by default either yet.

I'm still rocking the expresslrs 2.3.10 build. Still works like a champ, so i don't have a need to update my radio
I've been running TBS's version of OpenTX that had CRSFshot for months on my old QX7. There is also the new EdgeTX that runs on OpenTX radios.
using the USB on the radio may be slow, but companion provides a synchronize SD card tool. This will only update older files to the newest ones. If you use this tool you don't have to go and save all your sounds and lua scripts and whatever. I like to download the new SDCARD. Then I make a backup of the current SDCARD just in case. And then I use synchronize to update the files. It's always a good update this way. I usually just set it and walk away and let it do it's thing. BUT.. If you don't want to use the USB due to speed, you can pull the SD out and set the Radio folder in the tool to the sd card and it will work as well. Usually when I am updating opent TX it's usually not a hasty process and I am not rushing to get it done. Its not something you want to rush.

ELRS uses 500hz I'm assuming that was not added to this release? I didn't see it mentioned in the release notes.

you know when you are trying to find something around the house? and while searching you find something else you were looking for two weeks ago but arent doing right now, then you find something else you realize you need to do now, then while doing that you realize you need to find something else and that this other thing won't work, then you find it and start putting it in and realize you need to order a new thing from banggood to make this fit, and while ordering on banggood you see a couple of cool things that might work too and so you watch a youtube to see if it will work, but that youtube is for another radio, so you hit the forum to ask if this will work with your radio, ? ... thats what this video is

@@divingfalconfpv4602 if you have .12, I think you have it already. It means lower jitter which is a higher quality radio link.
You can see it working on your elrs LUA screen. If you're set to 250hZ, you'll see 0:250.

"Also the Lua script was recently updated with an important feature, top right it shows an indicator 0:200 which tells you how many bad UART packets and how many packets/second it's getting from the radio. It can be used to confirm the communication between the Radio and the R9M module is working properly.
0:200 means : 0 bad packets and 200 good packets (per second).
The value should match the selected air rate (200 for 200Hz, 50 for 50Hz, etc..)
If it doesn't and is stuck at 250 that means crsfshot isn't working."
@@wmcewa01 oh ok yeah mine reads right on ELRS. only thing noticed is at slow hz I get TLM packet error. Have to raise TLM rate.
My actual crsf I never looked if crsfshot is on.

I have a problem with my drone I can't find any videos on it but idk really what to even type it's yaw in betaflight will sometimes move slowly and be 20 points off of center so I trim it so it's centered and if I move the sticks around again it'll be 20 points too high and it doesn't seem consistent any suggestions?

Anyone running elrs and 500hz , do not use 2.3.12 or 2..3.13 , there’s bug that limits or doesn’t support 500hz. Go edge tx or stick to the 2.3.10 special nightly build for elrs

@@allennickles3970 No worries buddy. I converted all the flight to ELRS and been waiting for OpenTX to come out with 2.3.13 and it seems they mess up the 500hz again.

The heartbeat sync issue that crossfire shot fixes is separate from crossfire v3 which is a new air and wire protocol.

I'm trying to change the PWM freqency to 48Khz on my Meteor65 by BLheli32.
When I connect the FC, error messages poping up and it won't detect any of the ESCs.
The battery is connected and the boot note plays.
What should be the problem?

I'm not sure the ESC in the Meteor65 supports BLheli32. If you want 48kHz and RPM filtering flash the ESCs to BlueJay.
Try esc-configurator.com instead. You are trying to flash a blheli s esc with blheli32. That will not work lol you need to use blheli s

I believe ELRS works fine with 2.3.12.
I updated and all seems to work, however when switching models in the radio (I have one set up for LR and one set up for freestyle 5 inchers) - my Tx won't connect to the Rx until I go into model set up on the radio and click on the external protocol, switch out of and back into CRSF. It does it every time. No need to rebind, just need to change the External Protocol. Anyone else have this issue? I'm on a Taranis S9D+ 2019 SE.
just run the update on mine and having the same issue, every time i switch the taranis on i have to deselect and reselect the crsf eternal protocol for it to connect, im running the taranis x9d+SE (pre 2019)
ok i just fixed this by updating my external tbs module to the latest firmware via tbs agentx

Nope - tried refreshing 2.3.13, refreshing my crossfire Tx (already had the latest but redid it). Same issue. :-(
Figured it out. ruclips.net/video/1XA_LUymaaI/видео.html explains it. I had different receiver numbers set up (from my old days of flying Helis i still had the habit). Apparently as of 2.3.10, you need to set your crsf models to receiver 00 on the setup page. Just tried it. Works like a charm.

Whatever the lastest is for the BLHeli_S Configurator.. the S version not 32 if ur still talking about ur Meteor65, could also use Bluejay, as suggested earlier.

Dude, search on RUclips "favsky updating Nirvana" and follow along. It's easy and it's a great radio. The negative comments and reviews are from two years ago, it is now a mature product with a stable firmware (flash the latest official Flysky, it should be 2.1.18, with the SD card content 2.1.17)

Frsky has had opentx 2.3.12 for a while for the qx7 access. Does their version also have cfshot or do i need to get it straight from opentx?
Last I checked FrSky has removed all crossfire support from the builds they distribute. If yi uare running the FrSky version I don't think you will see CRSF as am option

Tango 2 has never had the bug that crsfshot fixes. Another way to put it is all Tango 2 do crsfshot.

Your kidding right....even Tbs has replaced crossfire shot with cfv3... so instead of of poorly scaled 10 bit data we now have 11bit full resolution stick data.. this video is 6months ours date frankly but hey I guess you learnt somthing today
Sorry but I think you have made the exact mistake I was trying to explain away in the video. Crsfshot is mixer sync bug fix inside opentx which applies to all protocols. Crossfire v3 is a new iteration of the crossfire protocol which includes over the air and over the wire changes. TBS implemented the mixer sync bug fix in 2020 and called it crossfire shot. It is different from CRSF v3.
The point is, mixer sync bug fix nee crossfire shot is desirable to everyone even those not running crossfire. When people ask, should I use crossfire or crossfire shot, or, will crossfire v3 replace crossfire shot, that's the mistake this video is trying to clear up.
@@JoshuaBardwell it wasn’t a bug.. it was never implemented properly.. until a year ago.. let’s just say thanks to TBS been willing to actually work with BF now tracer and crossfire v3 are the best radio links on the market right now 😁
"Failed to implement properly" I would call a bug, but potato potatoe. Crossfire V3 I don't think fixes this issue regardless. Kudos to TBS for implementing the fix that the OpenTX devs ignored for too long.
Tracer and Crossfire best radio link? Hmmmm.... ExpressLRS has much more consistent jitter and Ghost is implementing a new mode that uses 500 Hz dual-antenna diversity to produce a 250 Hz link that is nearly immune to dropped packets. I don't think there's a clear winner in this market, and that's amazing for consumers.

@@JoshuaBardwell hopefully elrs move to cfv3 protocol soon and embrace 11bit. 10bit does not provide enough resolution to get the most out of any of the high speed links

It amazes me to see people wasting flying time to put these micro changes into your gear. If you can't fly like the best fpv pilots. Go burn packs. This will never replace skill. Steele doesn't even use smart audio lol. There's nothing more annoying then turning on your radio at 2 am. To have it talk to you. Besides doesn't the More crap you put on your radio have an effect on the radios speed? I don't see the point. If it ain't broke GO FLY!!!☠️

anyway . I cant get Betaflight 3.5 loaded from anywhere.
I got the specific 3.5 hex for the Mamba 411 AIO. BF wont let you load that old hex from version 10.7 Configurator.

it was installed to ITS OWN FREAKING FOLDER ( FML )
Tried Emu flight , I figured this was a sign from God hahahah NOPE !!!
that froze up my FC had to use boot button to get Betaflight 4.2

And yes that means uninstalling BF 10.4 and re installing 10.7.

Manually download the bf 3.5 hex file from the github repo, then "load local file" instead of "load online" and flash it from the current configurator .
