- In this video, I share the possibility of trading in my Harley Davidson Road King for the redesigned 2024 Road Glide. This is decision has had me up at night with everything going in my life along with then trading in the Road king which has been great with not issues as I took it across the country and back. Join me as I make this decision.
'promosm' 😢
Never heard of this company, why the teardrop?
Man that is a NICE bike. I’ve been thinking about it myself. However I would be keeping my Road King. There’s no replacing it. I’d have to just buy the Road Glide and have two. Still thinking about it though. They are nice bikes.
That's the plan for me also! I just cant let the Road King go.
I’ve owned 2 Road king and now I’m on my 3rd RG. It’s tough to beat the Roadking as far as traditional look. I have a 22 Roadglide now. I do miss the king a little. I can’t blame you on keeping your king
I know I would miss it as I really like that traditional look, so will wait for when the time is right for me and get a RG and keep the RK.
Go for it...I like the hill assist especially for riding in SF lol.
I think the only time I rode through SF was with you actually and thank goodness we did not hit any crazy hills. But I agree, that hill assist would be more than assist it would a hill save and make the ride much better.
The RDRS is legit. I was on my 2021 Road Glide Special on a country road one morning. The road was wet from rain the night before. As I came out of a turn there was an intersection in front of me. A service van rode up to the intersection and blew right past his stop sign and directly into my lane. I had to break to avoid hitting him and I felt the back of the bike start to slide out from under me, but then it suddenly corrected, stopped sliding and resumed fully upright travel, all in a fraction of a second. I’m a believer.
WOW! Great to have those safety features, someone in commented that I should look into the cost of adding RDRS on thee Road King... I think I will for sure. Thanks for sharing!
Can't beat a road glide. Just do it.
Honestly, I would have but do not want a payment as I paid mine off in 2 years and enjoy the stress free of another bill. But yep, will have one, one day.
I also am considering trading in my 21 harley ultra in snake venom. But i have done stage 2, and some add ons for my bike and my bike already has the RDRS system. so i think i already have a killer bike minus the new screen but nothing really wrong with the old screen still plenty good size. so in conclusion i think you are thinking smart keeping the RK and just keep no payment and having that fun money. For me im just going to get me another seat and take my tour pack off to have a different style bike when i dont want the bulky tour pack on for me
Sounds like you have a really nice Ultra and have it setup the way you like it, plus snake venom... nice! Trading it is a tough decision but maybe wait since you have such a nice ride. Good problem to have ;)
one sip of the koolaid thats all it takes my favorite flavor cherry red
HAHAHAHAAA!!! Yep, so hard to resist
@CageFreeMoto I am thinking about it also I have a 2020 CVO RG and I love I put Ohlins on it different bars Flo levers and Im not feeling good about its trade value after these new configured bikes came out so I feeling my bike is going to be just fine for awhile if you decide to get one the 2024 I know you'll love it safe riding
@@kevincraig8257 the trade value is a very valid concern. The dealer I went to has a bunch 0f 23's sitting there and although not posted the dealer will need and work with people to move them at a discount. Best bet is see what you can get for it on the private market and someone that appreciates all the good things you have done and it is like a "turn key" motorcycle then you will get more. That may be obvious but that is where we are right now.
I did not get a good offer but I ride a lot and been across the country, so a lot of miles. So the trade in price is good for the dealer as they need to do a service/safety inspection then try to have some kind of margin left over.
Let's enjoy our rides until we can sell them direct or keep and add to the stable.
You won't regret trading the RK or the 24 RG. Trust me! I traded my RK for the new RG and love it more and more with each ride
Congratulations on the RG! Who knows if I change my mind, I mean hey, I am already approved. But if I wait it out I can get a RG and still have the RK... which having both would be great. Again congrats and stay safe and enjoy (I am jealous).
@@CageFreeMoto thank you! I see your point in having both but when you’re able to get the RG you’re gonna be so happy! Ride safe as well!
You'll be back and add to the stable
Exactly
A Road Glide is a wonderful motorcycle. But I think you already own the best overall motorcycle.

I think I would enjoy the Road Glide but really miss the Road King, so maybe it will be in my future and 2 motorcycles in my garage. Take care and alway appreciate your comments
I have the same bike as you, but mine has the traction control and rider assist. Maybe you can check to see how much it would cost to have it installed. SO glad you decided to stay with your Road King. BEST bike ever. Thanks for the video Brother.
Thanks for the info! I will look into it. Unfortunately. back in 2021 was the supply chain issues and no idea when the one with RDRS for the RK.
I love the RoadGlides 😎👍
The rdrs is really cool. I have it on my 2020 road king. I'm glad you kept the road king, I think it's the best Harley has ever done.
I totally agree! Which is why I want to keep it and get the RG sometime in the near future.
The flashing screen is driving me crazy, just watching the video.
Sorry, nothing I can do there.. but I agree
Bro, Remember me, The guy in Michigan with the same road king as yours? Well i traded in the road king for a Tri- Glide!.. I Love it way more than all my 2 wheelers!!
Hey! Those Tri-Glides are soooo nice! Another one bike I want in my garage. I would feel better on 3 wheels with my wife. I should test ride one.. all that room for a long trip you cannot beat it. Congrats! Stay safe out there! By the way really like the music playlist on your channel :)
Great seeing you again Brother! I’m with you, waiting a couple of years till Harley gets rid of the bugs and recalls. We also don’t know how well that screen is going to hold out. If you have a warranty that’s one thing but afterwards, you will be paying some serious amount of money to repair, or even worse, replace!! I’m happy with my two Victory baggers. They might even be worth some money down the road! 😊
Thanks! Totally agree with you... stay safe!
I have a 2015 RK and I love it! I like looking at the big head light and passing lights.
Totally agree... I miss that I cannot see it with the windshield bag, I may take it off just so I can see that big headlight while riding. Stay safe!
@@CageFreeMoto I took mine off years ago I thought I would like it and it was okay but I want to see the headlights
@@carolinarider5237 I am out traveling now, and as much as I like it, I love the view better and will remove when back home.
Would be nice if you actually stopped at a stop sign.
Knew someone was going to say this... take care and stay safe
When you switched back to the Road King I was immediately thinking dont do it. RK never goes out of style even when mines just sitting in the garage I just look at it and smile.
Totally agree with you, I have to hold on to the Road King and just add to the stable. Every time I get on the Road King it confirms to me that I never want to get rid of it.
I totally agree, I love my Road King. If you ride to a Harley dealership and look back at your motorcycle before you go in the door,,,,you aren't trading.
@CageFreeMoto
It's tough to have multiple motorcycles ,,,lol,,,2 batteries, 2 tags, 2 insurance policies, 2 tunes ups, etc,,,
@@joezednick3197 Very true... and California tags are not cheap. Even for a while to see which one I ride more... good reply and made me smile. Take care Joe!
Test rode after purchase ❤❤❤
Great 👍 I am sure zero regrets... congratulations!!
Trade it in on Pan america PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH!!! I want a Pan Am and take adventure classes head across the TAT and ride to Alaska... but I need to keep a street touring also... who knows what the future holds. Stay Safe!
Just do it 😅
Your exact comment was bouncing around in my head... life is short, right
When you test a new bike you always want to get one so just do it if your able to?
It is a tough decision as I am pre-approved, however, maybe within the next 2 years I can add one to my stable.
Can you re-upload this video without the background instrumental music? 🎶 👍😎
I love adding music to my videos and to be honest was thinking not to for this one. However, the thing most don't want to hear from content creators is the post production. In short, you may have heard my mic which is new was crackling and popping. I did what I could to reduce that noise and the music helped with that. But sure, I can upload it with no music in the near future.
@@CageFreeMoto- love your openness for future videos! I’ve found that a great little 32-bit floating audio recorder blended in with the GoPro or action-camera helmet cam gives a great sound of the engine and exhaust…I’ve seen a few great content creators get crushed by viewers in the comments for adding in music over a ride & review video…but the music seems to work great behind a narrated video like @jakeridesaway in his Motorcycling Across America EP1 video really connects with a great soundtrack for a documentary feel. Keep up the great work and content…love that Road King as well! I ride a 2022 HD Forty-Eight…last of the old school Sportster air cooled Evolution motors. 👍 🏍️
