    Well shit... now I am going to NOT use Ecoflow products. I will be full time van life so I guess Victron it will be. thanks for the update.

    I’ve been using a Delta 1300 on a daily basis for more than a year. It has worked well, but I fret about battery degradation. The shortcoming of all the Ecoflow power stations except the Delta Pro, is the NCM chemistry (500-800 lifecycles to 80%). I anticipate that I will start noticing the decreased capacity sometime next year. I will probably do a DIY electrical installation (semipermanently mounted), and use the Delta as one of it's charging sources, in addition to its role as a backup. I think having both an onboard and a portable electrical system captures the advantages of each and mitigates the disadvantages that each has.

      D Lowe that's awesome you've been using it for year! I have no doubt it would've worked well, however we were not able to get out hands on another for 8 weeks. Sounds like you have a great system that is working well! Thank you for watching and taking the time to help us out!

    • @GayeNRobert

      Agreed - the 800 lifecycles is concerning - the Delta Pro is something like 8000 - but too much in one basket. I'm guessing new tech in batteries will be out by the time we hit 800 but we'll see. Have a great day and thanks for your comment.

    I thought a lot about backup if something goes down so I got 2 Delta Pro’s for our bus. 1560 watts on the roof so even with one I can get by.

    Interesting solution with lots of redundancy for similar or less cost to the Delta Pro

    As someone who uses a Goal Zero Lithium 3000, I was actually looking at the Delta Pro's for the EV charging, Will keep an eye out for updates.

      we loved it when it worked and couldn't wait 8 weeks for a new one so that is what we switched to now...but with us you. never know!

      EV charging would be the one reason why I'd want it for sure.

    After our last trip using a big Bluetti and extra battery I switched back to lithium + Victron. Was too much of a hassle to keep everything charged and wasn’t really saving us space. Plus single point of failure like you.

    • @GayeNRobert
      @GayeNRobert  2 года назад

      Bill we did see that you switched back...we will see what happens with us!??

      Bill, I'm a newcomer to all of this and purchased a Delta Pro that has served me well so far. But I do want to have a backup system because right now, everything is powered through my Delta Pro and I'm vulnerable with this "single point of failure." Can you tell me what switching to Lithium plus Victron provides that you find better than just having a second portable power station for backup? I'd be most grateful for anything you care to share.

    • @billnalen
      @billnalen Год назад

      @@sheri4673 Switching involved a lot of rewiring and new connections to everything in our van. I wouldn't recommend it for a backup. Using the Bluetti was just too hard to charge using solar and the van with all of our electrical needs. If I was looking for a backup for the Delta Pro I'd probably buy a smaller Jackery to keep the fridge going if the Delta Pro had an issue and needed to be replaced while I shopped for a replacement.

    Shame about the delta pro !
    I thought that was the best idea I’ve come across to be honest.
    I’m looking at the delta mini for the bigger inverter mainly 1400w. Mainly same reason as what you said here. It’s more portable I can charge it at work or anywhere in an hour gets a decent 80% or I was going to wire an inverter same as what you did,
    I do have a question if you don’t mind about the way you wired the inverter, is it connected to a battery at all or purely just that one cable under the seat ? (I also have a sprinter). But being in the UK I need 240v inverter and Aims don’t do one I’m struggling to find something that will do what you did without hooking upto a battery but seems it will just wear my AGM leisure battery down (over years) for no reason if I can connect direct instead ?
    Love the videos thank you for the inspiration!

      Ash I wouldn't discourage you from buying it, clearly could be we got a lemon... We are using the River pros and like the sizes from transportability purposes... We would've purchased another Delta pro if one was available and it was for another 8 weeks. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment!

    • @GayeNRobert
      @GayeNRobert  2 года назад +1

      Hi Ash - Thanks for your comment. The AIMS inverter is connected the the "hot" terminals under the drivers seat - nothing directly to battery. Like you said - very important to have an ignition on/off switch so that the inverter is only on when the van is running - otherwise, it'll kill the starting battery quickly. Best wishes with your build and thanks for watching the videos! Have a great weekend.

    Wow. This is so disappointing. I purchased a Delta Pro specifically for my van and, you may remember - had questions about the wiring components. Any idea of what percentage of the Delta Pros are having this issue? Was it still charging as far as you could tell? Also wondering if the van vibration could have caused some wire/component to loosen?

    • @GayeNRobert
      @GayeNRobert  2 года назад

      Hello Jake we do not have any info on percentage of issues with Delta Pro, it did still charge but you couldn't see the screen at all...If we would’ve been able to return and pick one up immediately we would've gone back to it but couldn’t wait 8 weeks to get a new one. Thank you for your feedback and for watching!!

      For the cost of a river or basic delta you could also carry one or two of those for redundancy

    • @sheri4673
      @sheri4673 Год назад

      Jake, can you tell me if you have tried connecting your Delta Pro to an inverter for the purpose of recharging the Delta Pro? I ask because everything that I have been told from the manufacturers of both the Delta Pro and various Inverters state very specific requirements which must be met. I could not tell from watching the videos on this channel if or how those requirements were met. For example, Ecoflow tech service told me plainly that you must provide 1800 continuous watts of power through a pure sine wave inverter to recharge it, and if you do not, they make no promises for whether it will work or not.
      My Delta Pro has served me well over the 6 months I've used it. I would have liked to be able to recharge my delta Pro from an Inverter connected to my vehicle's starter battery so that I would have an independent/unlimited power source and could recharge the Delta Pro while driving the vehicle, but the power demands for recharging the Delta Pro are too great to do this without making several costly modifications to my vehicle, so I must rely on solar or shore power or an EV charging station (That's been a very reliable way to keep it recharged but I don't spend a lot of time away from civilization and it's easy to find an EV charging station off the main highways.). Can you tell me, have you connected your Delta Pro to an inverter and for what purpose? I'd welcome anything you care to share.
