    I purchased an ecoflow delta pro for my van build and it was a big (expensive) mistake. The 12v output is inadequate and the fact that if (when) any little thing goes wrong you have to ship it to Texas via Fedex makes for some serious problems when on the road. Clever solution, but it scares me to solve an ecoflow problem with another ecoflow unit. You are a brave man

    Great solutions, what I was looking for. Diesel heater startup amp requirements and dual charge (solar+alternator) fail were my major concerns. For the heater I’m wasting energy w a LED Power Supply 110V AC to 12V DC, I will just have to live with that. Solving the other problem I had a thought…What do you think about (warrantee be damned) splitting the one input that is either solar or cigarette lighter, and joining the 2 red, 2 black before the input? To me it would work because it’s not like the Delta Pro would know it was a cigarette lighter. It would just think more panels are plugged in, right? this would really solve my problem for being able to drive from A to B and charge it with solar panels on the roof as well as using the alternator which seems like a hugely important way to charge this thing. I have no idea why they did not consider this. I think they would’ve sold more units. Thanks!

    I'm trying to do this alternator option to free up roof space (remove 2 of the 4 - 175watt solar panels) and install a proper AC unit because eco wave 2 is horrible option for a van. Can you provide an Amazon list of parts maybe? Also, I have the Ecoflow Delta MAX and its maximum input is 700watts. Will it still work?

    hi, may i please ask how are connected to the delta pro to charge continuously? what kind of chord are you using to connect the delta pro to the river?

    I don't understand if using an inverter connected to the car battery is a problem. I want to do the same thing in my school bus and everyone is telling me use a dc-dc and that 1000w inverter will destroy my bus battery and alternator, and that at idle alternator will generate much less than 1000w. What do you think about that?

    • @GayeNRobert
      @GayeNRobert  2 года назад

      You can do it as long as the engine is running and you only pull the amps that are allowed by your vehicle manufacturer. It all depends on your bus engine, alternator etc... Sorry we do not know this specific info related to the bus.

    At mark 4:40 you mentioned selecting a charge rate in the app , for charging ecoflow from your existing 1000W inverter. My question is: how long does that take to fill up the eco pro? Is it 4hrs (3600w ÷ 900w)? Does that "overheat" the alternator? How much amps does your alternator put out? ... I got so many questions 😂

      @GayeNRobert  Год назад +1

      Hello - we are now using the ecoflow River Pro and with the fast charge setting turned on - it'll charge at 700w. So, with the 1000w inverter it'll take just over an hour. The Delta Pro was 4hrs from 0 to full. No issue with our alternator - Mercedes allows to pull 80amps from the 210amp inverter. works great!

    Enjoyed your video! I also have a Sprinter motorhome and a newly bought Delta Pro. But when I connect the Delta Pro to my Sprinter as I do with shore power (one end goes into my Sprinter 30amp plug on the side of my vehicle and one end plugs into the 30amp socket), my motorhome control panel shows battery instead of shore power connection. Any idea what I'm not doing right? Thank you in advance for your reply.

      @GayeNRobert  2 года назад +2

      Hi Mike - be sure that you have the AC switch on for the Delta Pro. In order for the 30amp to work, the Delta Pro must have the inverter on. I'm guessing the motorhome isn't seeing any power - maybe because of the switch?

      @@GayeNRobert Thank you for your quick reply. When I tried last time, the Delta Pro AC switch was on, but my surge protector showed "open ground", thus no power went into my motorhome. Someone just suggested I need a bounding plus to take care of the "open ground" issue. Hope that would work. Did you have any experience with that? Thank you again.

      Thanks Gabriel - definitely love the simplicity of the Delta Pro compared to our last setup using Victron components. Each have their advantages but I like simple effective solutions. Have a nice weekend

    Thanks for practical info on connections to unit to help a potential buyer understand interface given their use. I wonder which solar generator is best for van build applications where you are trying to have most of your loads on a 12VDC fusebox and avoid AC losses. Seems like allot of these units have only a 12V 10A cig lighter DC output with small other USB DC outputs. Not sure why they dont have a large 12VDC, 20A+ output for this common application. Let me know if anybody is aware of the best solar generator for this application.

    Will it trip without the River trickle charging? Costco has the Delta Pro, ev charger, and remote screen for $3000 this month. About $800 off. I’m mostly interested in the remote screen for a Transit build so I can hide the pro back in the garage

    • @GayeNRobert
      @GayeNRobert  2 года назад +1

      Hi Scott - good thought, but yes - it did trip without the trickle charge to the River pro. It sometimes would work with nothing else on but once at night it tripped when everything was off including no trickle. I saw that Costco has that new deal with the monitor and ev adapter. Great deal. I bought ours from Costco also at $2800. But just now found the EV adapter in stock! Having the monitor will be awesome for your build for sure. Have a great day!

    Another thing - did you use 6 gauge wire to connect the 30a anderson port on the ecoflow to the fuse box? Or what gauge?

    • @GayeNRobert
      @GayeNRobert  2 года назад

      We used 8 gauge from the Delta pro to the fuse box.

    Great video! I also want to power my sprinter with an Ecoflow. Can you recommend a fuse box? Also what kind of connection goes between the Ecoflow and the fuse box for easy disconnect?

    • @GayeNRobert
      @GayeNRobert  2 года назад +1

      Hi Papi, I used an Anderson fuse box and love it! Very easy disconnect and the Ecoflow has an Anderson connection for the 30amp DC output. We did a video on the Anderson connectors - ruclips.net/video/0JGMl7LcTPA/видео.html

    That Delta Pro is also the same reason why I am getting a Smart Home Panel as a back up power source for my home.

      Hi! Yes, so far loving the simplicity of the powerstations. The recharge speed is very nice when you don't often have shore power and rely on the alternator. So far so good. Best wishes with your search

    Pretty good setup. I am considering Delta Pro but little worried it tripping under high load of induction stove. Stoves can pull high amps as well. Do you know what is the max discharge rate supported by Delta Pro?

    That’s a great solution for your heater. I am trying to figure out how to run my AC which at maximum power takes 48 A. I have two Delta pros so won’t see what happens.

      @GayeNRobert  2 года назад +2

      Good Morning Vladimir - Yeah, that'll be interesting to see with your AC. Would be nice if you could combine the DC output on both Delta Pro.
