      @@cvrpovdon’t we need clear coat after the solvent paint? I’m slightly confused how you achieve the shine and protection without clearcoat. Look forward to your response thanks

      ⁠​⁠@@seemaabit’s all about depth, those scratches might have mostly scratched the clear coat. Scratches to the uninitiated are deceiving as they’re always white regardless of whether the scratched has reached the paint. In a lot of cases you’re simply sanding and polishing the clear coat.
      But to answer your question you can do as seen in the video and then use a spray can clear coat on top, then polish if you’d like.
      I’d likely apply clear coat to the entire wing mirror casing or panel in that case for the best finish.
      As you’ll see from his videos, it’s just not always necessary for a good enough repair.

    Just found your channel and I'm so glad I did. I messed up my bumper by grabbing and wet sanding with 400 grit sandpaper 😢 I have a lot of scratches as you can imagine but nothing deep where my fingernail catches like you showed in this video just all cosmetic scratches. I'm gonna try to use the compound as you did in this video and hope it works haha. Thanks again for your awesome video. Fingers crossed!

    Magical. It's the skill you have. Not to go too deep. Just right, clear coat only. Most of us try this and go too far, through the clear coat.

    If I have a few scractches because unfortunately I hit a wall, can I do rhis too? The paint has gone and I can see the white under it as well as metal in some areas.

    Copied this tutorial and now I have a flatend looking panel even tho I have polished. Is it that my drill is too slow or maybe because I used t cut in red bottle?

    Great video, question, I have the same repair on my Tiguan but how do I get a color match for the black side view mirrors?? My truck is grey, but my side view mirrors are glossy black

      Cheers. Just a generic black paint will do. For example "BMW 668" which is just solid black

    I'm looking to give this a go on my mirror caps, I do have a question though... my cars metallic black, I've purchased a touch up bottle from a paint shop, being metallic I'll need to apply lacquer, would you mix the lacquer with the paint or is there a different process ide need to proceed with?

      You could mix tiny amount of lacquer in the paint and apply. Leave overnight then try the method perhaps

    After 3 months, one can see the defect of area was done since you just polished it.
    Applying a UV clear coat will do it better.

      Find a local paint supplier and ask them for some solvent based paint not waterbased

    Thanks so much for this. Someone just doored my passenger door and left some scratches to the primer. Can I use the same method on the door? Would I need a machine polish or can I hand polish?

    Nice, but I wouldn't use high speed on buffer for compound. It'll leave bunch of "Fine" swirls mark on it...try to use low speed buffering instead

    I thought that solvent-based paint needed a clear coat after application in order to seal the paint. Is that not the case here? I love this idea, but don't understand how it works without the clear coat. Can anyone answer that?

    when I search "solvent based neat paint" on the link you referenced it shows no results. The paint looks really thick like artist paint. I'm in America. Any idea what it would be called in America. No luck on the Google. Thanks

    When using paint can you use a touch up pen over the deeper marks and let dry and sand back etc ? or is solvent paint the same , i have not done this type of stuff yet hence the question ! Thanks

    It will flake shortly after time if it's cut through the laquar and if it's base coat paint , it want shine up on the airea you've repaired
