@@cvrpovdon’t we need clear coat after the solvent paint? I’m slightly confused how you achieve the shine and protection without clearcoat. Look forward to your response thanks
@@seemaabit’s all about depth, those scratches might have mostly scratched the clear coat. Scratches to the uninitiated are deceiving as they’re always white regardless of whether the scratched has reached the paint. In a lot of cases you’re simply sanding and polishing the clear coat. But to answer your question you can do as seen in the video and then use a spray can clear coat on top, then polish if you’d like. I’d likely apply clear coat to the entire wing mirror casing or panel in that case for the best finish. As you’ll see from his videos, it’s just not always necessary for a good enough repair.
Just found your channel and I'm so glad I did. I messed up my bumper by grabbing and wet sanding with 400 grit sandpaper 😢 I have a lot of scratches as you can imagine but nothing deep where my fingernail catches like you showed in this video just all cosmetic scratches. I'm gonna try to use the compound as you did in this video and hope it works haha. Thanks again for your awesome video. Fingers crossed!
Your work is impressive and has given me the confidence to tackle some issues on my car bodywork. Only issue is weather as I don’t have a garage sadly.
Just discovered your excellent videos. Love the way you explain things, with great tips and make it seem that anyone can - with care and patience - have a go. I'm going to tackle some large stone chips on my bonnet and, thanks to you, I'm confident of a good finish. Wish me luck! 😂🤞
@@johnzenkin1344 I haven't actually started it yet as we're moving house and I've been too busy, plus the weather has been so poor I'm waiting for a bit of warmth as I'll just have to put the front of the car inside the garage door. I'll certainly report back and am still confident of an excellent result!
If I have a few scractches because unfortunately I hit a wall, can I do rhis too? The paint has gone and I can see the white under it as well as metal in some areas.
Copied this tutorial and now I have a flatend looking panel even tho I have polished. Is it that my drill is too slow or maybe because I used t cut in red bottle?
Great video, question, I have the same repair on my Tiguan but how do I get a color match for the black side view mirrors?? My truck is grey, but my side view mirrors are glossy black
I'm looking to give this a go on my mirror caps, I do have a question though... my cars metallic black, I've purchased a touch up bottle from a paint shop, being metallic I'll need to apply lacquer, would you mix the lacquer with the paint or is there a different process ide need to proceed with? Great tutorials, keep em up!
I have watched tone of detailing videos on youtube, and no one like you, in my opinion, you are the best on youtube. Subscribe to your channel and big like your videos. Hope you upload more tutorials about removing scratches.
Thanks so much for this. Someone just doored my passenger door and left some scratches to the primer. Can I use the same method on the door? Would I need a machine polish or can I hand polish?
I thought that solvent-based paint needed a clear coat after application in order to seal the paint. Is that not the case here? I love this idea, but don't understand how it works without the clear coat. Can anyone answer that?
This video was great! I was astonished at the gloss level you achieved without having to spray on a clear-coat. Is clear coat mostly just for protection? Thank you.
when I search "solvent based neat paint" on the link you referenced it shows no results. The paint looks really thick like artist paint. I'm in America. Any idea what it would be called in America. No luck on the Google. Thanks
Hi and thank you for all the useful videos. May I ask? What type of color do you use here? It's black glossy for plastics? I have a similar damage (not that big) and I was thinking to give it a try following your method. Thanks in advance!
When using paint can you use a touch up pen over the deeper marks and let dry and sand back etc ? or is solvent paint the same , i have not done this type of stuff yet hence the question ! Thanks
sir if all scartch remove when i use that 1500 then 2000 then 3000 sand paper can i directly use the buping machine with paste scatch removal? thank you

Excellent job I tried this on a rear plastic bumper with great success, thanks for a great time saving approach 👍
Didn't expect that at all. Nice job sir, I will be trying this method 👍🏼
Great, thanks
That looks excellent. A really helpful video. Will be trying that on my bumper scratches.
Really helpful, thanks for simple introductions that anyone can do it by themselves. Cheers...🎉
Glad it was helpful!
Hello! And what was put on the scratches with a spatula?
Solvent paint
Used this process and very good results ,on other areas as well
Awesome
Magical. It's the skill you have. Not to go too deep. Just right, clear coat only. Most of us try this and go too far, through the clear coat.
Thanks bud

Hey man can you share picture of the solvent paint? Couldn’t find it as i didn’t know what it looks like.
Find a local paint supplier and ask them for some solvent based paint not waterbased
Is this Acrylic enamel or lacquer? is it one stage?
This is really amazing method! Thanks for sharing! Just curious if this will work for metallic paint?

Nice, but I wouldn't use high speed on buffer for compound. It'll leave bunch of "Fine" swirls mark on it...try to use low speed buffering instead
Depends what your trying to do
