  • Pakistan is the lowest performing South Asian country in terms of education. Its male and female literacy rate is 56:44 for boys and girls, which contributes to 1/10 of the world’s population of out of school children. In rural areas such as Baluchistan the education rate is 25%, much less than the 87% rate in Islamabad.
Despite Pakistan’s commitment to the SDGs, to Article 37 and 25A of the constitution, these conditions prevail owing to factors such as child labor, gender disparity and cultural restraints. Alongside this, limited toilets, unclean water and lack of boundary wall at schools discourages students, especially females, to attend school.
PAGE was formed by the World Congress of Muslim Philanthropists on World Innovation Summit Doha in 2013 with the vision that more women enter education and develop leadership skills. In light of this cause, PAGE has teamed up with the Ministry of Education Pakistan and local organizations to:
    I. Achieve SDG Goal 4.
II. Practical implementation of Article 25 A and 37.
III. Better governance of education system and enhanced government spending on education.
IV. Improved quality of teaching and learning material.
    V. Bridging the gap in education by establishing girl- friendly school, community participation, mentoring and career counselling.
VI. Stimulating innovation, technology and entrepreneurship in education sector.
