Thank you so much for this video! We used this as an imaging lab final for our radiology students and it was incredible!
So Cool! Yay team. I wish I could have seen it!!
Hey Meaghan, since you're a fellow teacher, I'm interested in your take on teaching x-ray patient care in part based on the novel Time, Distance, and Shielding... I think it could offer a creative way to encourage students to critically think about patient care. Please send any thoughts my way! Here's a link to the book on Amazon: www.amazon.com/dp/B088867YHK
I've spent so much time browsing the Internet, trying to figure out a way to do something like this! I feel like it would be helpful for many students. Me and my friend are going to try to do what you did but make it out of wood. There definitely aren't any devices you can buy online that have an adjustable light field with an ability similar to x-ray beam collimation. Unless you were to buy just the collimator box, which there are some on eBay. But then you have to figure out how to power it and hold it in place as well
I built one at home as well but been trying to find good ideas so I can collimate! Thank you!
Radiology Tech student here. Thank you so much for this idea. Can’t wait to make one at home to practice for labs.
This is a fantastic idea! Nice job!
Your amazing and so creative! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much!!
Can you please list the box sizes you used?
LOL I honestly don't remember. I'm going to say about 12" x 6" x 9"
How cool wish you have listed the sizes of the boxes as well
Would have loved hearing narrative and seeing end product results
Impressive!
Nice work
Nice... I have completed my project by using your video...
fantastic!
Hi Bob! I'm so glad to see you here!! Big fan.
That is thinking outside the box!
LOL
Hey Heidi, I think you might enjoy a book I've recommended to my students. It's called Time, Distance, and Shielding. It's a medical thriller with an x-ray tech as the hero. It’s a fun read, and it has a lot of stuff in it about patient care. Here's a link to the book on Amazon: www.amazon.com/dp/B088867YHK
Rock The Registry I did download it but haven’t read it yet. Thanks for letting me know. I was actually looking forward to it based on the info I got last week.
Clever design
Mr McGroovy's doesn't seem to be in business anymore and I can't source any of those snazzy Rivets. Do you have any suggestions on a good substitute? Thanks!
That's a shame! I think Elmer's makes cardboard screws that would serve the same purpose.
thats pretty impressive!
Thank you!
How do you use it?
Quite interesting!. I get the concept...good job. Looking forward to more videos. Thank you. Mj
Thank you Marilyn, if you enjoyed this video you might also enjoy a book I've recommended to my students. It's called Time, Distance, and Shielding. It's a medical thriller with an x-ray tech as the hero. It’s a fun read, and it has a lot of stuff in it about patient care. Here's a link to the book on Amazon: www.amazon.com/dp/B088867YHK
Thank you so much. I will check it out
Can you make it with big boxes or little boxes
Great question! I tried to keep my boxes roughly the same size at the tube and collimator. I could see it working with larger boxes. With small boxes a glue gun might be the best way to connect everything.
does it actually collimate into a square of light??
Yep.
What's that something glowing inside the box?
A flashlight.
What is the name of the lock you've utilize???
mr mcgroovy box rivets
@@RockTheRegistry These seem to be out of stock everywhere. Any idea of a good substitution? We are doing a health care summit for middle schoolers and I'd love something hands on for them to do!
@@kellyhewitt2653 I don't know a substitution for the rivets. I recommend reaching out to any local community colleges or x-ray training programs. Faculty and students are often excited to share their technology and experience.
How to make fluoroscopic equipment from card board plzzzzz i need it 😭
