    What's the xray tube you're using? I've gone through the comments and your element14 post, but I have yet to find what specific tube this uses, or the specifications of the tube. It's a good tube, powerful enough to produce crisp shadows on the sensor, which is ideal and what a lot of lower-powered tubes cannot do.

      One of those hamamatsu sensors is selling on ebay for 6.5k euro (a lower resolution model iirc). He says he got a good deal though for the one he has. You can get axial ones for 1000 apparently, but I don't know how that would work with this type of compact use, since you'd need a good resolution and to rotate the subject along an axis parallel to the sensor I presume (at that point it'd only be good for CAT).
      X-ray tubes are comparatively not very expensive, around 100-300eur for most. Although I don't know about one with the same energy he is using. He says in his article a good target is Mo and a good energy is 17 keV

    Hi Linas K, you have comments turned off on your elegoo saturn fix and I have a question about it. Many people are reporting that they solved the problem of restarting by replacing the power supply. Did your chassis ground solution remain effective? I am having this issue now after years of use, so it's hard to believe that I am suddenly getting static build up after all this time. It has never changed location and it's in a temperature controlled room. I have ordered a new power supply, but maybe I will take the time to ground the chassis as well.

    • @Kilohercas
      @Kilohercas  7 месяцев назад

      As stated in that video, unscrewing top made it non functional due to restart. It help alot having true ground ( must be in the socket)
      Good power supply could have proper ground to zero connection

    • @billyd78
      @billyd78 7 месяцев назад

      @@Kilohercas Well my new power supply didn't fix it. So I grounded the chassis to the USB board. Actually found a ground pin on that board and used a female connector to connect to the pin. I felt I would have had to completely remove that board to solder to usb ground which was a tight fit to the base and didn't think my soldering tip could fit in there. Then I ran that wire to the chassis, scraped away the paint and soldered it right to the chassis. Printer is working again, thanks for the video. Really odd how this just started happening after years of printing without this issue one time!

      @ZetaBling resolution depends on two factors, sensor sharpnes (lines per millimeter) and spot size. With this setup it is possible to see features around 10um or better. Well, this is typical perception people has. Like x-ray or any other Ionizing radiation will kill you. Problem is you have to understand how much do you have it. Using this apparatus is completely safe. Even worse, if you spend 30 minutes inside this box, and It will be producing highest power of radiation it can, it will be same as one year of background radiation. ( so very little basically,. My system uses 20W of power, while simple x-ray tube In CT scanner uses more than 2kW)
      To give you context, making you hand x-ray picture is not as bad as to flight from London to Tokyo :)

      @@Kilohercas thanks for the explanation, its like the medical xray, in one session you get as much radiation as you get in one year

    Bro at the least step 2 meters away. Even if it might not be that much coming through the lead, it makes me unconformable seeing someone x-ray something next to their testis.

      With same dose you should not fly at all. this is soft x-ray. it can barely pass fraught copper foil. Relax, this is just 39keV

      @@Kilohercas yes I agree, this is why there are limits for flight personal on how many flights they can do per year.
      I just wanted to say that if he stepped 2m away he would only get about 10% of the dose he gets when he is standing right next to it. With basically no effort (only having a 2m cable).
      Yes the risk of him getting a relevant dose is pretty small but he could make it so much saver just by having a little distance
