Matty covering anberlin songs just isn't right...I didn't enjoy it live...they don't fit. This song is terrific, though.
This track is MASSIVE! the backup vocals match so well behind Matty's harsh vocals. Down tuned guitar with the pauses is chef's kiss. Sounds like an epic with the builds

Matty is a busy dude. Vocals for memphis may fire which they are also actively releasing music, Anberlin vocals, and idk if hes doing solo singles but i hear his songs on christian radio stations. Dude is the definition of "we all have the same hours in a day" good on him.

Matty's voice is better in this song, sounds more "raw". His voice in the MMF songs sound kinda overproduced (maybe because the eletronic elements in the songs?)

That definitely sounded like it was Stephen and they just melted the tone a little bit, Stephen would do that in a lot of other songs. I also think the periodic "ohhhh" might be him too.

Was on the fence about Matty but saw them last weekend and he absolutely does the old songs so much justice live, and this new track is so good. Couldn’t imagine a better fit for them given the circumstances.

As someone who grew up on the heavy Anberlin sound this hits those notes in my heart so nicely. I hope when the album comes out with Matty we get this vibe. Its so nice to see the guys rocking out being heavy again too. It was a nice with Stephen, it was sad to see him go again. But now Matty will bring Anberlin into new heights can't wait for that.

3rd release in 3 years
Clearly should’ve just released Silverline and Convinced as one LP to start or maybe just expanded Silverline into a full LP. And then had this and Walk Alone as a new project. It’s good on it’s own but will stick out awkwardly in a project with Stephen.

@@Rob-wt9lq they made a legitimate criticism. The album has already been released with advertising on the same label. Just a cash grab now given the perspective the band and label created themselves.
@@ianraguse6455 bands have been doing the same for years. they made it clear that was the plan. no reason to complain or be upset cause something exists. no ones making anyone buy anything and the band can drop music however they'd like to. personally grateful this album exists.

Same. While I like heavier Anberlin, I preferred it on Silverline. This isn't bad, however it sounds like a lot of other bands and is missing the distinct vocals of Stephen.
"slowly enter the vega era now" is kind of a cringy line for a chorus hook... especially when the album is called Vega...
And especially when 10 of the songs were released on the previous two commercial releases.

The plan all along was to combine the two EP's into one album, plus a couple of new songs, for release as one CD, vinyl, etc... They had made that pretty clear. I, for one, am pumped to have the whole thing. Quit yer bitchin' and enjoy. They'll have a totally new album out soon enough.

@@solnative706it’s not playlists. They are EPs released separately over the last year or 2, combined into one with the new tracks. I get the frustration but also they’ve said this in their posts. They don’t trick anyone.

This is honestly incredible. 😐🔥 not in just how dope Matty sounds as their vocalist, but I’m not gonna sit here and say I’ve listened to everything Anberlin has ever released (last actual album was New Surrender)…but I was deeefinitely unaware that the band themselves could pull off this kind of sound. 🤯🔥 “Walk Alone” I expected, but not this. 😅 I’m not sure they are just playing heavier because they have Matty involved, but goddamn is this incredible. That chorus is veryyy nicely written and an earworm while the verses are vibey as fuck. Is the guitarist singing the second half of the verses or is it all Matty? 🤔 I can’t tell. Definitely gonna be on repeat for a while.
