    Looks great Scott. I’ve fitted loads of this stuff and it drives me mad for the same reasons. Top tip, I open 4-5 boxes and lay them out roughly on the floor against a long straight edge. As they are all different it is easier to find which fit together better, that way you can trim them before fitting. It has saved me loads of time. 👍🏻

    Great job! I'm about to do this exact job to a retaining wall in my garden but was planning on using mapei tile adhesive, is it just preference or is the product you are using better than a traditional method? Thanks Scott

      Yes it was a drip grove to allow water to run off the coping and not the wall 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

    Hi Scott. Great video! I am thinking of attempting to fit some of this drystack tiling myself but I can see from your videos there are some definite issues when fitting them. Are there some alternatives you could recommend that are easier fit but still give a nice effect? I am a complete amateur but I would like to attempt it myself.

      You might be lucky and get some good tiles that fit better and it’s pretty simple otherwise

      Cup it in your hand and rub it in eventually it holds but do use gloves 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

    Superb Scott the stoneface textured is a class apart but £180 Sqm nearly got another 5sqm to put on some planters. Have you used the stoneface textured buddy ? Beautiful stuff takes a fair amount of time
    See your sika find it easier in small spray bottle empty flash bottom something like that. Keep a bag window packers in your van Scott 😜 Amazon 1-6mm sizes. Super handy in fact use them for spacers on tiles now also snap them in half.

      Yeah mate they look fantastic but cost a bomb natural stone put all the sizes on separately but there pretty all nice and square nowhere near the hassle of the cladding you have been on. But super expensive 5sqm there all be it get the sika etc but came in just under £1200. Git through for £188 1.35sqm. Done a wall of 12 Sqm and looks super slick. If you get chance to use it. A would say you will like applying this stuff. Silver birch used last 2 jobs.

    Yours is a Plus? there is now a Pro, better handle and is auto on the suction
    New thicker seals I lifted a block, drain lids all sorts a week ago

    Hi im looking to do simular but to a retaining wall, its been blackjacked as well as tanked on the earth side but im still a bit nervious of dry stacking it, do you have any advice?

    Sorry Scott, another question. Why prime the top layer of the blocks. Surely you didn’t prime when laying block on block so why the top?
    Yes, prime the coping stone but no need to do the block

    Brilliant as always mate. Quick question how far does the primer go? Have 11m2 to do same as you have here. 1 litre cover it or 2?
    Also the adhesive used exactly like you have how many tubes do you reckon?

    Hi, great job, I can understand the need to prime the wall for the dry stack cladding, but why can Marshall's not supply that already primed. save the tradesman job.

      Be a good idea but it needs to be sticky and would most likely dry up otherwise in transit 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

      Not sure on the price difference but slate does look more natural than a concrete print 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

    Great video as always mate! I’m going to be building a planter out of breeze blocks. Then putting slips on similar to this wall.
    It’s going to be around 645mm high and 10m in length, how deep should my foundation be for the wall?

      Also depends on is it a retaining wall otherwise it’s not that high just 8 courses of bricks 🧱 so normall would be 100mm of concrete and say a course of bricks below ground level so around top to bottom 150mm-200mm total 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

    Question Scott. Why does it need primer all over when the you just need 5 strips of adhesive. Surely it actually only needs the primer under the glue?

    Instead of the string line why didny you just tack on a battern at that point to work off then finish the bottom row the next day

      Didn’t have any batten plus the first course always needs propping up might as well do all in one go 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

    I want to put tiles on my gate posts mate, can I just use a tile adhesive or can I make a 4to1 cement/sand mix ? Many thanks you a funny bloke haha

      I would say the tile adhesive would be better sand and cement would come through the holes in the tile and be a lot messier when one doesn’t fit 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

    What’s the minimum hardcore base I need for porcelain.
    Going to have a go myself as I carnt get anybody to do it.
    Your videos are great and give me the confidence to have a go!
    Had the porcelain delivered September just opened them and 14 are broken what a nightmare.

      Hi Peter sorry to hear about the tiles !!! Gutted but as for the base it’s 100mm hardcore compacted every 50mm take your time in the string line for the levels 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

      Try get off as much paint as possible first because the adhesive will stick to the paint and if that comes off so will the tile 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

      @@tidybrickslandscaping thanks for the reply, if the paint doesn't come off easily (it's a rough split block) would maybe painting on a slurry coat of Sbr and cement and letting that dry be sufficient enough do you think?

    Turned out well. I can see those panels are not so simple when they cannot even cut them all standard size and colour. I can imagine a weekend diy-er making a right balls up and wondering why.

    Just wait until the glue heats up that holds them together come summer and it comes through the joints. Dry stack looks good for about 6 months tops. Marshalls as per usual using top installers as Guinea pigs. Then they will change the regs

    How does building a wall like this compare in price to a normal fence, concrete posts concrete base panels and wooden fence panel, 1.8m high by 10m run for example
