I've been using this same setup for almost 2 years and it works great. Biggest drawback I have is in colder months the tubing will freeze up on me. Thinking of going to ½in pvc lines and insulate everything. Great tutorial

Thanks for watching Josh! That was our very 1st video. We like to think our videos have gotten a lot better. Lol.
Yea in near future I’m building another system with 1/2”.

    That is a great idea.
The reason for me to fill my bucket instead of an auto float system is.....
When a water line breaks free I only dump no more than the 5-55 gallon of water the bucket holds verses the Constant water flow that will not stop with a float. The only way I will use a float like that would be with a timer on my water line. It sucks to got to a pond lol.

Thanks for watching Andy! I see your point for sure. With the valve before the bucket u could cut it off like you were talking about.

Thank you for the great video! Do ya all need to add baby catcher wire to bottom sides for doe cages or are the spaces protective of newborn kits born outta the nest?

Thanks for watching Al Ha! No we don’t add any wire of any kind. We use the 1/2” gap shelving for sides and bottom.

Have you had to clean out the bucket at all yet? Like does any green algae grow during summer?

Great question Zion! No we haven’t had an algae problem. We also pour a lil ACV in bucket.

    Hello,
Have you ever tried to automate the feeding? I know there are some automatic Koi feeders that dispense the proper amount of feed a day.... just wondering, I am looking for a solution.

No we haven’t thought about auto feeding, mainly because it makes us interact with the rabbits everyday. Thanks for watching!

Anyone know a "best idea" for making custom heating cable lengths?

Thanks for watching KreVor! I’m not sure about heating cables, but I’m working on simple heated rabbit waterer.

What do you do in winter to keep water for them? Doesn't it freeze? Will they drink from a rubber bowl after using a nipple system?

Angela....thanks for watching. Fortunately we’re in Mississippi where we rarely get freezing temps. But I asked myself the same question and I think maybe the electric water heater that you submerge in bucket could work and with pipe insulation around the lines. Yes they will use bowls also.
