    LYRICS:
It seems the love I've known has always been
    The most destructive kind
I guess that's why now I feel so old
    Before my time
    Yesterday when I was young
The taste of life was sweet as rain upon my tongue
I teased at life as if it were a foolish game
The way the evening breeze may tease a candle flame
The thousand dreams I dreamed, the splendid things I planned
I always built to last on weak and shifting sand
I lived by night and shunned the naked light of the day
And only now I see how the years ran away
    Yesterday when I was young
So many happy songs were waiting to be sung
So many wild pleasures lay in store for me
And so much pain my dazzled eyes refused to see
I ran so fast that time and youth atlast ran out
I never stopped to think what life was all about
And every conversation I can now recall
Concerned itself with me and nothing else at all
    Yesterday the moon was blue
And every crazy day brought something new to do
I used my magic age as if it were a wand
And never saw the waste and the emptiness beyond
The game of love I played with arrogance and pride
And every flame I lit too quickly, quickly died
The friends I made all seemed somehow to drift away
And only I am left on stage to end the play
There are so many songs in me that won't be sung
I feel the bitter taste of tears upon my tongue
The time has come for me to pay
For yesterday when I was young

These words are so true and profound. Young men and women, don't let this song be your alma mater. Treat others with mercy and compassion. People may not remember your name, but they will always remember how you made them feel. So have no regrets.

I'm now 75 years old and I was a musician ... I truly love this song. But the reality of the lyric is shocking...When I reflect upon my life I realize that there hundreds of people that I need to apologize to. But, that time has passed and for that I am truly sorry.

I try to tell my daughter, about how fast time will go by, and she doesn't believe me. She is still in that stage we all went thru where old age is something that is not going to happen to her. She will find out, as I did. I look back at all the dreams I had and things I wanted to do, and I aways said tomorrow.....tomorrow.....now tomorrow has come and gone and I missed it. All the years I waited for my life to start, and meanwhile it was passing me by.

Now at the age of 72, sadly this song is who I was, and I do have so many regrets on what I have done to so many beautiful ladies....DAMN!! I was such a fool and thought that everything was about me and only me, and it only ended up with sorrow and grief that I deserved. I can only look back now and hope for forgiveness for I was the biggest fool ever for my ignorance. This song will play at my funeral, and those who listen intently, I hope that they will get the message. May God forgive me and may they forgive me.

I hear the tears and pain in his voice. This takes me back to my wasted childhood. As a child I still had hope for the future because there's always hope. At 69 I look back at the nightmare that was my life. I've changed through the years but my history is part of whom I am today. Sadness follows me from day to day. I never knew happiness as a child. It pollutes my every day. I lost my precious sis eight months ago and now, it's part of my sadness. She went through the same nightmare but for her it was so much worse. She told me, look what life has done to me and before she passed, her last words to me was... I miss you and I love you. I have so much grief living in my heart. I live day by day still with hope for the time I have left that I can find answers as to why, so that I can find peace before it's my time. This song has opened my eyes. So haunting so beautiful and so true

Regrets are such a heavy burden to carry through the years of our lives. Yet only until we see ourselves as Worthy, and as Children of The Creator, will we be able to cast off that crushing burden, and realize that at that moment, in the truest sense, we are FREE.

Elena, the answers you seek can be obtained. This earth was created for God's spirit children to gain a physical body and be exposed to good and evil. To give us the opportunity to make choices and hopefully choose the good, and thereby experience joy and happiness. So why do bad things happen to the innocent? Short answer is to give us experience, knowledge and the opportunity grow and develop to be more than we are. You can be healed of your sorrows and grief and know that you truly are a daughter of a loving God who knows you and will help you. Jesus Christ, the Son of God and Savior suffered the pains of all humanity and suffered a cruel, unjust death, so that He can forgive our sins and we can be healed or made whole from our afflictions. I testify to you that my words are true through the power of the Holy Ghost and my own experiences during my life..
You can find the truth for yourself. If you pray with a sincere heart and real intent. He will send you His messengers to show you the way to healing and happiness. I pray you may seek for the blessings of the Lord. You can obtain!

No need to be negative thinking of getting old. All individual life is a continuation trip, either you believe or not, that’s the reality. When one finish term in this dimensional world, you move on to the next. As you get older, you should be more happier because you be embracing the next beautiful world. We are all travellers in this vast universe, move from one world to the next.
Each of us has two real bodies, physical body and spiritual soul body, both are all combined of energy particle, real existence. Physical body particles is large only can exists in the current world, but spiritual body particles is much, much smaller which is capable transient from one dimensional world to another. Spiritual body is the main, physical body is second, just like a shelter.
So, you get it? Life will never end, just keep on moving of one world after another. BE HAPPY, we are all travelers.

@@janicelambright5256 With understanding of spiritual and physical bodies energy existence, our common practice of preying in church or preying during harsh moment, this action actually is transmitting your mind spirit energy to other dimensional world that other being there whom receive the message then in responding to you in this invisible energy form (spiritual energy) for your good. It’s not easy to sense this invisible energy function but it is all around us, effecting from time to time. Thru life sometime we ran into issues such as driving on road encountered accident or just missed it, some may think it’s bad luck or lucky. But in reality is what you have done in the past (with good deed you then lucky or you done bad to other then you get harm in accident). Everyone born into this dimensional world your spirit energy has a set of energy base, assuming every one average has 1,000 point when born, going thru life your good or bad action will increase or decrease that 1,000 point. Gradual increase to higher point you go thru life be more smooth and well, vice versus. Eventually when your physical body cease at 90 years old, your final spiritual energy count is determine which next dimensional world you be goes to, because numerous dimensional world in the universe has its own energy base, so, if your spiritual energy reach 2,000 point when your physical body die then you may transient into heaven, on the other hand if your energy got reduced to 100 point maybe that’s hell dimensional world then that’s where you will transient to. There are many many other dimensional worlds all have its own set of energy base, however your point end up your spiritual body just go the next matching world. So, everything are functioning by energies but multiple type energy, categorized mainly in two - visible and invisible.

@@Blueknight1960 you don’t believe it that is perfectly normal. Let me ask you, do you believe or accept the symptom of some people has NEAR DEATH EXPERIENCE ? Near death experience is the fact that the person’s spirit or soul energy left the physical body but not separate yet, it transient out of existing 3 dimensional world. Soul or spirit is not a hallucination experience, it is an actual energy particle transient into another dimensional world. It’s just a short term stay, not the person total separate from the physical body so it got return. I am sure you experience much dream thru your life, if you notice, in the dream you seldom doubt the event while you in there, but question it when you woke up. Dream is similar situation except it’s not as in depth, it’s a brief experience the soul short term transient out.
