  • If Stab In The Dark is the main event, then please consider the Shaper Series as special features.
Presumably you’ve already watched our 36-minute film, in which Dane Reynolds takes 13 of the world’s best (unbranded) surfboards to South Africa for 10 days of rigorous and unbiased testing and flexing.
In the Shaper Series, a joint with our pals at SWELL, we delve a little deeper on the other side of the coin; we step into the shapers' bays and syphon their thoughts and reasoning around their art, and the board they shaped for Stab In The Dark 2016.

MAkes me think of the design of the earth. “It Took thought. It wasn’t a random thing…”. Well said and love his boards

My first surfboard was a 6' 6" Hawaiian Island Classic squash tail thruster Derek Ho replica with a big ol' glassed in ding on the rail and another one on the tail. It had blue rails and orange and yellow splatter paint graphics on the deck, and was shaped by Eric Arakawa. I caught my first wave on that board and loved it dearly, until my ex ran off with it and all of my other boards. I would pay good money to get that back!! The surfboard. Not my ex.

I don't see this board on Arakawa's site. Is it under a different model name?
