    I like the Chanel side more. It looks so beautiful compared to the La Prairie side....not that you have a bad side or that anything could ever look bad on you! But there is definitely a difference and the Chanel side wins. And don’t feel guilty, I would buy it too just out of curiosity!💸💸💸

    Love the la prairie powder! It’s literally the only powder that doesn’t turn cakey on my incredibly dry skin 10 min after applying it. And I’ve tried a ton. It’s a bit like the ko gen do natural lighting powder, but that one oxidizes on my pale skin. But Mel!!! You need to buff with it!! Or at least buff it in after you apply it. It’s super pretty just applied, but buffed in it gives such a pretty natural radiance! It’s like magic!! I was desperate to find a powder that doesn’t turn me cakey and finally found it thanks to you!!

    I heard someone say the Flower beauty satin finishing powder is a close dupe for the original La Mer powder. (Also, you are actually named in the reviews of it on Ulta) You should compare those sometime, if you want and have time. I'm very skeptical about how much "technology" anyone could squeeze into a powder. 😏 These crazy makeup companies and their funny marketing claims. It's a good thing you like the powder. That's some serious cash.

    I love it when you review high end products. I normally don’t enjoy watching people review these products because I can’t really afford them but I love watching you try them because of your sheer passion for makeup and it makes me curious to know if they are worth the price tag, and I trust your opinion more than anybody else’s.
    But also $220 for a powder?!?!! Goodness it had better clean the house and go to work for you at that price!

    Hi Mel,
    The left side looks softer and blended even tho, you stated you did not buff with an additional powder. If it's fragrance/parfum/aroma free, I will definitely try it because of the skincare benefits. Thank you very much for your awesome reviews as always:)

I like the By Terry or Chantecaille their Talc Free Powders for under the eyes for me because I have dry skin under the eyes and regular powder are too drying but I will use the New La Prairie every where else.

      @@jewelnabq01 to be totally honest with you now that I have it I don't see a huge difference on myself from the La Prairie and my other powders in fact I am loving and reaching for The By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder for under my eyes because I also a woman of a certain age. For my entire face I have been reaching for Guerlain's Terracotta Loose Powder in 01 it works for me. I also use so many others but with a light hand. Do I think the La Prairie is worth it now that I have it actually no. I also love the talc free Chantecaille powder. La Prairie is a beautiful powder but I don't think the finished look of this powder is justification for the price but if you really want it I would get it because it is a beautiful powder it is just the price that I think is ridiculous for what you are getting.

    Oh girl! I’m so glad you did this review! I was wondering what on earth this powder would look like for this price! Maybe you can take out insurance when you wear the foundation and powder together! lol. Kidding aside it looks flawless and now you have it for special occasions. You absolutely do look stunning !!!! Hope you have a magnificent day 💕

    Hi Mel thank you for this video...kept my buying impulse “tamped down” 😜. I have been using the Phyto Poudre Libre by Sisley and the Dior Forever & Ever Control loose powders. In as much as I can be a true cosmetic “snob” 😬😃😃 I find I really prefer the finish of the Dior powder. Have you tried either and what are your thoughts? (I am 61 and have normal to dry -now- skin)

    Thank you for the review. I doubt I will purchase. Here in Canada, it's $308! I checked all possible sites and the ingredient list is unavailable.There are very few legally allowable ingredient options for face powder, because powder can enter the lungs, so the high price must be based on the caviar content. I am curious as to whether it's at the beginning of the ingredient list.

    I can see the slight glow on the side of your face that you put the La Prairie.
    That price point is ridiculous... but of course I’m intrigued and would love to try it! Lol

      Laura, remember how I said I wasn't going to buy the Natasha denona Sunrise palette because I didn't see myself using it very often? I find myself being very weak today! I'm resisting but my defenses are low... I need help!😄

      Iris loves life stay strong girlfriend!😂😘. I ordered the Viseart Warm edit small palette - that was my compromise😅☺️😉 it looked just as pretty to me.. but of course we still love ND! I just don’t think I would use so many bright pinks that the Sunrise has in it... let me know if you end up getting it, of course!

    I too love this powder. As far as cost goes, it worth it. If you add the cost of all the loose powders I purchased this year, I could of purchased 3 of these.
    I will purchase this again. It will take me some time to use this.
    Chanel was too drying on my face. This does seal in moisture.
    RAE did a beautiful review on this new line.

    Yeah, actually when makeup starts creeping towards the $50 mark is when I start pumping the brakes. I have no doubt that this product is outstanding, and/or other high end products, but I see makeup as a consumable item, and I just can't bring myself to justify the pricetag. But, to each their own. In fact, most of what I use is drugstore. I don't want to buy something I can't afford to KEEP buying, and find out I can't live without it, lol! Thank you for the review Mel, awesome as always!

    $220 for a powder is just too much when Chanel is at the "bargain" price of $50. Why did you have to wear the ND sunrise today? I didn't want to buy it but damn it's so pretty. I love those yellows in the palette. Great video and gorgeous makeup. Much love from Kentucky.

    Hey Gorgeous! Can you explain the difference between setting powder and finishing powder? I'm so confused! Love your content!

    • @Cevalip
      @Cevalip 5 лет назад

      I think the difference is the same as settings/finishing spray - the finishing is to make it look less makeup-y/powdery as with Mac fix+ and setting powder/spray is to make your makeup stay on longer😊

    • @Connie_s1980
      @Connie_s1980 5 лет назад

      but which are finishing? Loose? Pressed? Brands? How to apply? Buff? Bake?

    • @Cevalip
      @Cevalip 5 лет назад

      @@Connie_s1980 the buff/bake thing I have no Idea😅
      But you can find setting sprays and powders, as well as finishing powder and spray. I do believe spray versions have become the most known version.
      It should say on the box what type of powder/spray it is. Max fix+ i believe is a finishing one and I believe UD has a setting powder as well as setting sprays.
      I don't use any of it so I wouldn't have any recommendations sadly😅 but I'm sure you can search it on YT and find some😊
