My hope is they catch heat in June and get on a winning streak. It feels like it’s ready to bust loose.
The Cubs are a power hitter and a top bullpen pitcher away. It was the obvious from the beginning of the season. If they stay in the hunt and get someone before the trade deadline they stand a chance, otherwise try to enjoy the rest of the season. Hopefully, Jed Hoyer does right for next year.

I'm tired of the Chapman talk. Chapman is way overpaid also. He's not what he was 3+ yrs ago. He still has good defense but not near what it was and people still think it is. His bat is not good. This Cubs team has high level defense all around and needs a power bat. That's Morel. You easily sacrifice a little defense at 3rd for his bat with this team.

This team just doesn't have enough slug. So many other teams just somehow are able to develop power hitters. Sooo many fucking teams have some random dude who can hit 30 bombs. We always some guy who can play great defense and run fast but nothing else. Or destroy in Triple A but then comes up to the bigs and all of a sudden forgets how to play. If I were the cubs I would just start trading all these prospects they love so much for actual proven players. And before they are even called up to the MLB and get exposed. Like mervis...

look there are obviously a few different issues but for me easily the vast majority of the issue is the hitting. Even in this series we had some excellent pitching but again are going into the 7th inning with barely a hit or a run!!! yes there are a few individual position issues, yes Bullpen is an issue but I feel they get so much heat which they don't deserve as they keep coming in to games with no runs on the board. So they give up a couple of runs and we're immediately losing!!
Hitting is the MAIN ISSUE!!
