How can you do a "reaction" without giving us your reaction, and thoughts. Of course you need to pause. This is how I learn, by you giving your input and tips/personal experience. In regards to the major class you had with the recent Taylor Hawkins videos, you didn't pause. Major respect for that.
Good morning from New England..Wow what can I say that hasn't been said b4...I will comment on the socks...I tried numerous times playing in socks but I didn't like it...I wear a pair of FUBU sneakers with a hard sole because I like a bit of weight on my feet when I'm jamming..Plus I keep my spring tension super cranked because if you hit the pedal the right way it's easier to get doubles and also to pull of the BONAM triplet on the kick..Peace from the Northeast..

That was actually a great description on triggers and that probably explains why some drummers seem to play so fast! Are you able to adjust things like sensitivity or anything? Is it a piece of software or an actual item? The trigger that is.
You can use certain microphones that double as triggers or specific triggers which is a pad that sits on the head usually, which goes to s computer where you can set samples and even sensitivity etc. Make a travel kit sound huge in a small studio if you got good samples.
