Hi sir, currently I'm doing a case study where it asks me to upgrade windows server 2008 from a virtual machine to a supported version. May I know do I need to download the file of another version of windows to proceed with the upgrade or I can find another version to upgrade without downloading anything in my virtual machine?
Ya, but my question is I don’t know where I can get the files like in your video which showing “required isos….” File to upgrade to 2012. I have no idea where to get that from.
@@kendrickwong5176 if you have a visualstudio subscription, Microsoft volume license center or technet. Otherwise, you will need to get evaluation versions from microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/ then go view all.
We have 2008 R2 Running on Physical server with Active Directory and DNS. Do you have a video of an upgrade from 2008 to 2019?

@@TrevorTye Alright! thanks alot! I will look at the website first.
is it necessary to have license for 2012 and 2016 versions?
Yes otherwise you can't continue with the upgrades without a key
@@TrevorTye if I have a product key that came with the server for 2008, will I be able to upgrade along any of this path without a different key?
@@cue_sports_and_teeth unfortunately no. You will need a key for the version of server you are upgrading to
You can continue without a key for 2012 and 2016. You need a key for the version you plan on using
Can I use my key from server 2008 R2 to 2019 ?
No unfortunately. You need a 2019 Key
@@TrevorTye even if I update the versions in order like 2008 2010 2012 2016 2019 ?
@@noobsaibot9710 yes. Your key for 2008 won't work even if you upgrade.
