i have Hyper V machines on my windows 2012 R2 - will it upgarde them also ?will it work in general?because my VM are the ones which are important the host is less
Hello as you know there are no windows updates anymore for 2012R2, we have ftp servers that need to be upgraded to 2019, if you were to do this process today do you think it would still work...the reason I am considering doing an inplace upgrade is because the ftp support sucks...and this seems far better than dealing with a company that no longer has good people when migrating their software over to a 2019 server...
Hi .Your video has been very helpful .I needed help with an upgrade for Microsoft sql server 2012 to 2019 or 2022 ,the sql server 2012 is currently running on a windows server 20012.is there any way I can connect to u?
@@dennisbuswell Thanks for the reply! I have done around 5-6 of them without issues as well, that's why I have a feeling that the "no-no" was in earlier releases OR if you have more services like Exchange, DBs and so on.
Very very helpful and informative videos on Windows Server, can you please kindly make videos related to Windows Server Migration from 2008/2012 to 2016/2019 and videos related to Windows Server Certificate creations and CSR generations and import with details steps

I have always read (and been told) that in-place upgrades is a no-no, is this still relevant in 2016->?
I did 200 + DC's without fail against my initial opinion.

@@dennisbuswell So are you saying the the DC role was on the server you inplace upgraded?
@@dennisbuswell Did any of the servers you upgraded have SQL installed? Any words of wisdom when performing an upgrade on those?
@@buckwheat12n If it's Microsoft supported then I'd say follow documentation. I haven't done in place upgrade with SQL.
