Beautiful, tasteful playing! As a guitarist, I'm really starting to learn that fewer notes can be a lot more meaningful if they're played with passion - which I think you're exemplifying excellently here.🤘 Regarding the guitar: I ordered my own SE earlier this week and can't wait to pick it up. I went with Vintage Sunburst for that classic look, and love that it has the exposed mahogany back and headstock. Thanks for the video!
Man i just picked up a DGT tobacco and it was ridiculously well set up right out of the box and sounds incredible ! They are doing great things for Guitar players
I played this guitar in my local guitar shop and I instantly fell in LOVE with it! I recently just got me a se santana so perhaps next year this will be my next guitar. Just beautiful.
@@canyonproductions7683 I hear ya there..that Charcoal looks awesome. Also got a double cut vintage sunburst. Really love what PRS is doing with this series.
I just got mine yesterday in the Turquiose color, double-cut because I already have my Gibson & Epi LP's, I'm glad I did! It's my first PRS and it really can't be beat for the money, and somehow I got mine brand new "ordered" from GC and they honored thier $699 price I found on one in the store! 😎
I've seen a few reviews of this guitar but this one shows it at its best. Beautiful performance, and we really heard the rich tones. Great stuff: thanks for sharing,
it's the "playability" of prs guitars that i think is great.....had a SE sc for about 15 years, and its way better than the gibson SG61 faded i bought recently for 4 times that money....
Man, I love your videos! You’re one of my favorite people on the internet! So easy going, great playing, a wealth of knowledge and humble as it can be! Keep it up brother! I Look up to you! 🙌🏻🤘🏻
Thank you my friend. That's very kind of you to say. It's great to hear positive comments and I really do appreciate ya watching. Have a great weekend. 😎🎸🎵
I wrote off PRS after purchasing a custom 24 and never got on with it. But recently purchased a US Tremonti and am really impressed. The Tremonti is basically the McCarty with a few minor mods. Will probably buy another with a tremolo. And unlike my LP’s it stays in tune.
After upgrading the tuners to Gotoh's, a Switchcraft 3 way and Tone Pros output jack, I went with CTS all brass shaft premium 500k pots with Orangedrop tone capacitors wired 50's style. I retained the resistors on the push/pull tone pots for the coil tap switching. The pickups are worth the price of admission, especially if you can clean the signal up a bit with some premium electronics. TBH I never even plugged it in before all the mods. I just know, that now it's a premium guitar in EVERY way, not just the husk and pickups. It's as good or better than anything in my collection now.
This! I dont understand why people reviewing the SE models don't mention it more often. I would gladly pay 150 bucks more just to have those back covers properly recessed
Thanks! I just try and shake up the musical musings and interludes. Mich like VH music ... the tracks beneath the solo are as important as the solo itself. It makes things sound so good! 😎🤟🏻
Nice video! I used to hate on PRS until I got my mitts on one of these things. Playing the McCarty 594 totally changed my mind in regards to how I think about PRS. The 594 is a wonderful guitar that plays fantastic and sounds as good as it looks. Totally worth the money.
Great playing. I would have loved to hear your closing thoughts. I have two of these and I'm a bit torn. Can't get the setup and tone exactly like I'm looking for, but it's so close. I'm probably going to try a pickup swap at some point in the near future.
i just bought one and must say my old SE singlecut (15 years old now) is the better sounding one...although i did swap the pickups for dragon IIs....very hot...but great tone.
Great review bud. Love the finish! I already have a SE Paul's guitar I've modded up and am picking one of these up soon. Amazing instruments for the price. If you get it from Sweetwater you can have them satinize the neck before shipping it out if you don't like the poly gloss.
I picked up a double cut McCarty 594 last summer and just scored a Custom 24 that was listed as used but I don't think it was ever played as it still had the shipping plastic on the pickups and cavity covers. I now have 5 PRS SE guitars. Every one of them is great quality.
After trying five guitars at Guitar Center, three of them Paul Reed Smith's,I settled on this model in single cutaway and brown sunburst.I didnt realize the pickups were low wind and low output and at first I didnt know if I'd like that ( It sounded good at the store ).I began studying a bit about low output pickups and now,I think they might have something there.I learned that increasing pickup output comes with the sacrifice of losing some of the tonal spectrum.I think the guitar sounds great,in your demo and when I play mine.
i actually received my own prs 594 se sc in vintage burst yesterday....and my reaction was the same a syours...i was amazed at the absolute build and finish quality...what a "beast"....and although its a good "log" it only weighs 3.8 kgs...thats always lighter than a good old LP from the late 50s.....what a steal at just under 1000.- Euros.....bought mine from Andertons in GB.....great stuff.....better than one from the big "G" at 3 x that price....
I have the double cut version in vintage sunburst, it's a beauty! It plays and sounds great. I have a Custom 24 Quilt & a Silver Sky in my stable; magnificent gitars!
Totally different subject but on your regrets video I sated I had a 83 RR MODEL Jackson. But going through old photos etc. it was an 86 model. Pumpkin orange with black edges. I thought it was ugly and traded for a damn strat . A Martin stinger with VH colors. I wish I had the wherewithal to see the future value of that thing. If you come across an orange Jackson RR. SNAG IT. I WILL SELL OFF WHAT INHAVE AND BUY IT FOR SURE. REGRET IS SUCH AN EXPENSIVE THING. THANKS MARTY. YOUR MY HERO DUDE.
Marty , that guitar is so beautiful 😍. The time when I was buying the les paul tribute from a big online company in the UK tried to push me towards buying the SE Mcarty. He told me that it was a better guitar for the same money as the les paul. I am really p*******d with myself that I didn't take the Mcarty 😢.
@stratman9449 I know. I really should have done that. But traded it in for an fgn iliad ibuia with two seymour duncan pickups. It's a realy nice playing guitar, I'm very happy with it.
Dude this is fantastic. Reviews are always redundant to the mainstream ones, awful blues-based playing, and just nothing with any amount of gain for the majority of today's modern players. You however sat down and played a very prog ballad motif with some cool phrases. Heck yeah my guy!
Thanks so much man! I try to take some different approaches at times and do something a little off the norm or center. Not Walsh's the case, but I get bored with the same old stuff too. I want to show different tones and sides of the instrument personality. 🎵🎸
I would put some white pickup rings and toggle switch tip to match the neck binding and tuners with some gold skirt chrome top knobs to match the tunomatic bridge. I think that would make it look a bit better 🤷♂️
Great playing and demo. Bought one last week. Unfortunately with none available locally, I had to buy then play. Just sent it back- Neck was Way too chunky. Think 50s Les Paul +
i think mabe you got a keeper there!!! Prs se guitars are the best imports PERIOD!!! I love and own epiphones, but they do not come close to se quality.
Personally don't care for overly flamey veneer tops, and black or clear backs make them look even cheaper. None of the Custom versions colors appealed to me. I found a standard in vintage cherry that weighs just under 8lbs. I chose it for the almost perfectly matched wood grain the 3 piece body has.The 3 piece mahogany neck is much darker and also very closely matched grain patterns. This might not be critical for most people, but I believe it matters more than most people realize.
PRS didnt just copy the les paul, they corrected many of GIBSONS mistakes, bridge angle to nut, headstock angle, strings come out of nut and go straight to their tuner not turned near sideways like on Gibsons.. All of these make for a better tuning stability
You are in good company... no one ever is spending a single word about the neck profile and its playability. Every single guitar review on RUclips rarely says something about the neck... Ohhhh but the volume pot is so sweet... 🤦😊
Great playing man. So nice to see someone playing without crazy scredding everytime.
Thanks! Yeh I get a little fatigued from the shred thing. I appreciate it but it's a little worn out (for me)

Got the Cherry burst se single cut on monday. Was so impressed, I ordered my son one in Tobacco Sunburst se.
Its unbelievable the High Quality of the SE line nowadays. Great showcase and demo.
It's good, but it's not flawless.
@@diazzsama fully true but SOO much better than Fender! 🤪. Pisses me off. Ive had to return THREE

That’s a beauty. Got a blue one when they first came out and love it. Really can’t beat them for the price.

Came for the guitar review but stayed for the tasty playing. Groovy and smooth with some fine note choices there. Well done brother.
Much appreciated!

@@canyonproductions7683correct, several mods and his custom pickups which I love.
@@EJH-jn6mo Ive heard those pickups are fabulous!
I’m a couple years away from retirement. A PRS Tremonti 10 top will be my present to me
can't beat a singlecut though.....
Very sweet McCarty!! I love single cut guitars myself. That was a nice jam there Marty!! Thanks for sharing your review!! Aloha!!
I always thought, what's the big deal with the 594's, then I got one. There's some special sauce in that scale length. Love it!
Right on
I love my double cut 594, it's a looker too with it's vintage sunburts.
absolutely.....

Looks great. But, come on PRS, recess those back covers!
Right? Why don't they already?
This! I dont understand why people reviewing the SE models don't mention it more often. I would gladly pay 150 bucks more just to have those back covers properly recessed
It would only be about 15 bux. And I agree spend the little bit o dough and recess those covers.
Great looking axe. Was in a jam band in high school, the other guitar player had a light blue PRS that looked pretty similar. Hell of an instrument.
Marty comes alive! Nice playing!
Nice fiddle bro😁😎, very entertaining tune you just played as well. seems like every time you do a video and play a you sound better and better.

Very true. Lower output pickups in my opinion have better tone. You can always sup it up with pedals and amp.
Wish they had this exact guitar in a slim neck 😞
fat neck is soo easy to play.....
I have this guitar. Such a pleasure to play. Super slinky.
I appreciate the well planned demo, not the same tired boring blues licks nor the light speed shredding *(and I love shred). Subbed.

Has anyone solved the lack of bridge grounding?
How would you compare it to a Gibson Les Paul?
Gibson is a bit heavier in weight. The PRS has a bit more of an open and refined sound. Gibson pickups are crunchier with a bit more bite.
