The first ever Supercars 2.03 min Pole lap of 2017 for me was his greatest piece of individual brilliance. The constant "parity" adjustments to the Mustang were only because of him and still he couldn't be stopped.
Just shows how good he is. He’s only done a handful of laps and was beating some the big names in champ car. I’d like to Jamie put his money where his mouth is a try the same
The crash was obviously not great, but he showed glimpses. Finishing 10th after free practise and something like 0.05 seconds behind Will Power, to end up 16th before the crash is pretty impressive for someone who just a week before was driving a Supercar around Mt Panorama half a world away.
so much fun watching this guys early career. IM LOVING him being in INDYCAR, and i was at mid ohio this year when he won! easily becoming my favorite driver
Bloody hell. It's crazy to think he only raced in this series for 8 years. Feels like he was around for much longer. S'pose that's to be expected for someone who won 3 championships
Scotty was robbed. A very good source at the time told me that gun that was used to measure Scott’s Speed was faulty and stupidcar didn’t want to look stupid by owning up to it.
@@Grant80 Bloody oath. And DJRTP had proof he was doing 37kmh. U saw it on tv. Pit lane speed limiter was engaged. They used the old 'timing loop' excuse. And Lowndes admitted he was at fault in crash. He tried to push Scotty against the wall.
@@rhettcorbett3346. The same source tells me the the reason for the quick PLP was that stupid car didn’t want the series drawn out crown a winner plan for next year.
I really want to go to oz just to soak up on of these races bathhurst it the one but I'll happily go to the other tracks. Some of the best racing out there
Will miss Mglocko Supercars will be less super without him & Penske! You guys messed up last year for sure with all the Mustang hindering...still wins somehow!!!
Hhmmm, if The Penske team is pulling out, any ideas who DJR will partner with?? Who fills the available seat?? Which driver(s) seem(s) to have the best chance of taking the title in 2021?? Which of the 5-10 drivers will get into the 1-5 bracket??

yes but he placed 2nd after battling with a supercars champion, because he chose to get back on the racing line with the grip and the champion slipped up puting him back behind scotty... its incredible racing and reactions by both drivers and is what we love to see in supercars
Wtf you on about? It's his first season in an unfamiliar car and has already had a second placing the first time he's ever been on an oval, is in the top 8 overall
@@darianistead2239 I'm referring to actual Go Karts mate, not the Oval. Every now and then he goes back and races Go Karts for some fun and while he's competitive - there's faster guys than him in that type of competition. He's a bloody brilliant driver though, don't get me wrong.
i don't think you know the gap in performance between a supercar and an F1. those guys are a different breed, literally. if he had chosen the single-seater path (formula 3000 etc) when he was younger, he would be at least winning F2 races and if not in F1, but he went for touring cars. i'd love to see him in an LMP2 car at Le Mans though.
@@lucaswells8485 Yes. I know. SVG won the 2020 race. In a imported Opel Insignia Hatchback from Germany rebadged as a Holden Commodore. Not the 2019 race as it it stated.

the thing about McLaughlin, even tho he was always winning, there would be a fight all the time, never a boring moment with him
Exactly mate still doing it today
Definitely not the guy you want to be behind or in front of.
Scott has a special talent. Wishing him all success in IndyCar.
He got Rookie of the Year! Proud of the kid
What a burnout to end a career on. Good luck for indycar not the best start but he'll get there

That Bathurst qualifying lap was intense. The crowd was pumped as he came over the mountain kicking up dust. Unforgettable
He was the one why i started watching this beautiful series, thanks scotty
5:26 so that’s how clouds are made
Rumour has it, it's still cloudy in Bathurst.
Absolutely legend. Now we get him in the US for a bit and I’m super excited!

Could Scott McLaughlin 'drift' the car 6.2kms all the way around the Bathurst track???? I reckon he would give a go!

Scott wont able to win the 2019 Bathurst race if it wasnt for his teammate holding everyone up

Fabs holding up the pack actually helped svg to not double stack, he won because whincup pitted for a splash and dash so he didn't do a repeat of 2014
