Well today look at him,the little guy is Billabong main surfer, won his first W tittle and did what many sure guys would have done during the past five years. The stars that had and still have all handed to them way before being a CT surfer,where is J Smith,J Wilson,k Andino,N Young now? All great surfers sure,now Italo had to fight for it nothing was handed to him,on top of all he is a great and cool guy.Well done
People call someone a midget, and still have the guts to complain about medina´s claim, for example. the surfing heritage and entourage is so prejudiced. hope this is evolving, cause is really tacky on 2020.
@@Salty_Subject Bet lots of guys will still be saying , he can only win doing airs on crap beach breaks . The worst style on tour , can't surf big and heavy reef brakes and on and on . Meanwhile the little man will be winning W titles and getting better , improving his surf . Already a W Champ and the first surfer to win an Olympic gold medal , not bad for a guy that learn how to surf on a plywood piece . He can claim as much as he want , he got this far without any of the handouts so many others gets just for their looks . This is the tale of a little young man , that when appear walking all alone heads down with his white board , only with a small brand sticker on top . Was his first heat on tour , which he won and the money a relief . Remember how he turn into a laughing stock , over many vicious shallow minded ignorantes comments . It got kind personal , made me furious how malignant for no reason people can be . Look at him now , how big he is. Great Italo
His surfing improved dramatically over time. Early years are impressive with the airs but wow he got so much smoother and powerful. Awesome to see, must have worked hard at it.
He can pull off anything but to me, to me is style is real choppy bouncy and not fluid and one with nature, he's just a manuever machine with power. I like styles like curren parko, occy, feb. ECT,,, anyone that is graceful with there riding on a wave. This is just me.

Congratulations Ítalo, you rocked last year......For me he was the best surfing in Bell Beach last year, he was the only one that was doing the last turn on 6 feet wave or bigger as insider, like he was doing a huge backhand snap or other turns on the huge and tall lips closing out, as disappearing for several seconds behind the explosion of the waves 🌊 like the last turn as going down as same time the waves crushed down on the sand on the beaches...even John John won by Wsl judges, but for me Ítalo won that event easy! For me he had the best performance 🎭 on that event!!(Bell’s 2019).
