I'm so glad I found this video! If anyone ever says it's just a bunch of people playing with toys I can now show them this video and how precise and scientific and that this is just as real as full scale racing. Shows me how far I have to go to get to where I want to be but that's a good thing. Thanks again cuz I know this is about a year old but still being watched!
I’m kinda late to the party but I’m just getting into this hobby and this video gave me a great sense of how I should have my alignment setup. Thanks a lot!Time to go work on my rds
I like the fan shrouds. I have a ReveD RDX chassis using the Reve D servo, Reve D revo gyro, Reve D Absolute1 10.5T motor and Hobbywing XD10 pro. My first build which not so straight forward to me since the instructions did not illustrate screw vs a pin. I definitely had to watch someone's RUclips build video. I did buy a Skyfly Noble. All this is new to me. It does cost cash to build this so each and everyone has their own right to build it to their desire. It's a hobby man. Anyone who is critical on this is taking it too serious. There are more issues in this world to be serious about. Enjoyed your video.
I've saved this as a go to alignment tutorial , Thank You for a solid explanation , Btw I also get questions from some of my friends about running an extra fan on my motor (11.08 ),, I agree , Why not put one on🤷♂? , Its going to keep the motor cool 🥶, Only downside is I have to run o rings between the Fan mount and Fan because the vibration through the chassis from a WTF Fan is noticeable , I think a quieter and slower fan would suit better , Look forward to more uploads
Thanks for this, it's very timely. I've been watching other videos on setup stations to help tune my SD 1.0 and your tip about checking the caster was A+. I was wondering how people were doing that since my Arrowmax station didn't really come with any real instructions. I'm new to RC drift but not new to RC. Such a simple solution lol 👍
Awesome info, helpt me getting better controle and front traction I needed. Something I could not get from the oem setting! Don’t worry about those who criticize without reason keep up the great content!
Nice video, wish this was out back when i first started getting into RC Drifting. I was always told that changing toe has no effect on camber, but just like you said changing camber does change toe. So I always treat tuning in the sequence of: Ride Height, Caster (if needed), Camber, Toe. On the note of the fan for your motor, the Hobbywing D10 motors have a built in fan on the rotor (which should keep the motor cool). Some will say if your motor is getting hot then you're overworking it. At the same time you can say its added sprung weight (adding mechanical grip), so warriors can be warriors. Keep sharing the knowledge! Nonetheless, great video
Appreciate it, I love to geek out on alignments definitely often overlooked with a lot of new people to the hobby. Thanks for checking out the video, I’ll definitely have some more in the future.
@blackote yep camber and toe are like drinking buddies when you lower a real car too lol when I put PBM coils on my FRS and didn't align, the toe out back ate the rear tires in 2 years of daily driving.
Finally got my d5s running today!!! I named it "dollar menu" because its budget AF lol agfrc servo and gyro, hobbywing 120bl sensored brushless with 13.5 hobbywing sensored motor, radiolink tx/rx and it rips pretty good! Just have an issue with steering getting stuck at full lock, causing lots of spinouts. Also im a ham fisted n00b lol anyway thanks for the setup tips! I need alignment gear!!!!
I’m a newbie in drifting business and started with an Mc-1 which makes my life easy and hard in the same time.Far too many setup for a beginner so ended up buying the same tool kit for adjustment.
I just got a MD1 for a project and I'm having the same issue with the servo horn hitting the caster plate. Did you also have an issue with the toe links attached to the slide rack hitting the caster plate? Thanks! Love your videos!
Such a great Video and overall dive into adjustments - Thank you so much! +1sub! You earned it!! PD: What diferencial do you drive in the RDX? I have seen people using a geared Yokomo diferencial as the stock one doesn't seem to be that great.
What ups shred. After watching this video, I noticed we have a similar tune with. I'm starting to drift away from alignment tuning and started to dive into CWD, and experimenting with anti squat/dive, pro squat/dive. Do you have some tips on CWD, anti squat/dive and pro squat/dive? I'm not sure I'm adjusting correctly....so raising the rear arm on the rear mount will cause the car to squat, raising the rear arm on the front mounts will cause the car to stiffen or no squat, raising the front arm on front mount causes car to dive and raising front arm on rear mounts causes car to lift stiffen or no dive? So confusing
All that is subjective for how you want the car to feel. Sometime my setups feel better without a pro squat shim but I do like the feel of anti dive in the front so I run a 1mm shim. It will all depend on the weight and where it is on the chassis and how you like to drive the car.
@@shredcraftrc Just to clarify that I'm doing this correct, shimming RR suspension mount= pro squat, shimming RF suspension mount= anti squat, shimming FF suspension mount= pro dive Shimming FR suspension mount= anti dive Appreciate it!
Hey brother , just built this chassis up 🤘 what size turnbuckles did you end up building the front with ??? I'm running into a problem where my car is pushing instead of gripping in the front totally, . Any recommendations would be amazing bro , thank you for your time and hopefully this reaches you
Idk the exact size they were spare titanium one I had in the box. Look at the stock one with the ball ends you’re using and that should give you an idea how long of a turnbuckle you need. Pushing could be a number of things but if it’s built box stock it shouldn’t have that issue unless you’re running wide wheels hexes and wheels with a huge scrub radius.
Sure can but that will just tell you the length of the turnbuckles not how much tow you have. My latest alignment video I show you how to align without an alignment rack.
The shims on the upper and lower front arms are how you would change caster. Move the top arms forward out the shims in the back to reduce caster or put the lower arm shim in front to bring the lower arm back to reduce caster. Reverse to increase caster.
my car i gotta 3d print some stuff for the camber and then i’ll adjust my toe after with adjustable tirods. ruffly how much longer is the lower links vs the top link?
@@shredcraftrc i haven’t been able to find any wider without going to wide for my tt02. i need about 1/2 inch on the bottom and i was thinking 1/4 more on the top to have it cambered
@@dawber2111 I tried to make my tt02 drift too, it was horrible so I converted it back to a rally car. Best to get a chassis that’s RWD and meant to drift.
Ackerman is a rate and not a number, everyone prefers their own feeling. As long as your lead wheel turns more than the other you’re fine. Caster is also subjective for how you want your car to feel. More caster car is stable in drift but lazy on transition.
@@shredcraftrc I’m new and I understand it’s a personal thing. However I’m not sure and set Ackerman and would be nice to know a starting point for caster

Google is a hell of a tool
Can u do a video explain the buttons on the remote I messed with them and now my car doesn’t run right 😅
That would be a subjective video because everyone runs different remotes and receivers. Perhaps a google search will help you more.
That’s a hard video to make since everyone uses different remotes. Try searching for your specific make and model to find to user manual.

So how do you adjust caster?
The shims on the upper and lower front arms are how you would change caster. Move the top arms forward out the shims in the back to reduce caster or put the lower arm shim in front to bring the lower arm back to reduce caster. Reverse to increase caster.
What size links did you use in the rear
15mm? Maybe I’m not positive but it depends on what ball ends you’re running and how you want your camber gain.
my car i gotta 3d print some stuff for the camber and then i’ll adjust my toe after with adjustable tirods. ruffly how much longer is the lower links vs the top link?
It’s all variable and depends on your setup. I also wouldn’t 3d print arms, they’ll break.
