    What kind of witchery is this?!?! WOW, I'm really liking this. I can't stand gaps like that in my work when I'm doing DC's, especially in a hat. Who wants gaps where heat can escape in their hats? I'm gonna whip one up and try this, for sure. Thank you!!

      Glad it was helpful! I don't like the gaps, either. That's part of why I was so motivated to learn to knit. Thank you for taking the time to comment. ☺️

    I'm crocheting blankets for the ICUs in hospitals for tiny babies from 1.3lbs to 5lbs. They are hooked up to hoses & tubes & this will be perfect as minimal holes is one of the hospitals criteria. Thanks so much...presently I'm making blankets from 12x12" to 30x30" in xmas colors with matching beanies. Thnxs again

    I LOVE this method for DC! I always hated the gaps DC made. Thank you so much! This video was really easy to follow. I'm curious to know if doing one row of gapless DC is faster than doing 2 rows of SC? I may have to time it and try.

    Thank you for making this simple enough I think I can do it. I have only read one pattern before and done a few video patterns so I am still a newbie but I think this was explained well enough that even me a lefty can follow it. I am not against the holey look of the regular stitches but this neat and tidy look is the reason I got into it along with how calming it has turned out to be. Thank you so much.

    Hola. THANK YOU A LOT 🍀

      ¡De nada! ¿Puedes usar subtítulos en español en el video? ¿Qué consejo me darías para mejorar mis videos para personas que no hablan inglés? ¡Gracias por compartir su conocimiento!
      You are welcome! Can you use Spanish subtitles in the video? What advice would you give me to improve my videos for non-English speakers? Thanks for sharing your knowledge! 😀

    Good technique! Looks like that stitch would use a lot more yarn also, just something to keep in mind I guess.

    • @craftglad
      @craftglad  3 года назад

      Yes, I think you're right that it would take more yarn. Good to think about. The fabric feels more dense also. Thank you for watching! ☺️

    Hi Amanda thank you for sharing ur knowledge.. Very interesting video for crocheters... Please help me understand how to use this technique when doing V stitch pattern. Appreciate if I could get a response thank you so much

    • @craftglad
      @craftglad  3 года назад

      Hi, Mary! I'm not sure this would work for a V stitch, since a V stitch usually has gaps in it that are more than what you find in regular double crochet. You could try searching RUclips for videos of V stitch techniques without gaps. I think it would be different than the technique in this video. Good luck! 🙂

    exactly what I was looking for, thank you!!! I have a question, when you work the stitches after the horizontal line, is it back loop only or do you grab both loops?

    • @craftglad
      @craftglad  Год назад +1

      Hi! If I'm understanding you, I think you're asking about the part of the stitch that's worked into the foundation chain after you pull up a loop from the horizontal bar? If so, then the answer is that I'm just working in a single loop of that chain, not under two loops, but you could do it either way. It would just change the look of the bottom edge. Did that answer your question? I hope this helps. ☺️

    How would you go about dc2tog with this altered stitch? I’m not sure if you keep up with newer comments but if you happen to know how that would be great! Also nice video, thank you!

    • @craftglad
      @craftglad  Год назад +1

      Hello! I found a video that will help you with this. This link starts at where the dc2tog is demonstrated, but the first part of the video is a refresher on a normal linked dc. I hope this helps! ruclips.net/video/War-BqTFu-s/видео.html

    amazing!! but how do you straighten out the edges?

    • @craftglad
      @craftglad  3 года назад +2

      Great question! You might try ending each row with a regular double crochet after you finish your last linked double crochet and working that regular double crochet into the center of the stitch below, not just under the two loops. Like, further down than just the two loops you normally work under. Shove your hook right into the center of the stitch on the front of the work. I hope I'm making sense! It's difficult to explain without pictures. 😕

      Thank you very much for your feedback. For this video I was using only my phone to record, but in some of the others I was using a microphone. Can you tell me if the volume is a problem on the video I posted last week? ( ruclips.net/video/YTWl6qOesic/видео.html ) I'm actually hearing impaired so it's very hard for me to tell!

    Wouldn't doing it like that be considered as DC 2 together

    • @craftglad
      @craftglad  Год назад

      Genius! 😮 Much easier to think of it that way! It's kinda in between sc2tog (no yarnovers, pull through all three loops at the end) and dc2tog (yarnovers between the loops, pull through 2 and then 2).

    I am trying to follow the video but I am deaf and use close caption.. the caption wording is covering your hand so I can’t see the stitching area .

    • @craftglad
      @craftglad  3 года назад

      Hi, Janette. Thank you for your feedback. I will be more mindful of that in any future videos. I am hearing impaired and I wear hearing aids, so I often rely on captioning, too. I am very sorry that you can't see my hands with the captions on. You may have already tried watching the video on a device with a larger screen, but that might help. If you will email me at craftglad@gmail.com, I think I can find a way to send you a version of this video that is cropped to be smaller in the frame so you can see it even with the captioning on. I'll do what I can to help.
