January 19th 2021 So much potential, right? This franchise could've been the console milsim community's salvation. Yeah well, the problems they had were quite heavy, maybe there was nothing they could've done. Red River wasn't too bad either but... definitely not the same thing, they tried it as a last effort to gather as many people as possible. I really enjoyed this game for some good years now, got all the missions inside-out in my head. As much as I love it, playing it often feels lonely, like i'm appreciating a piece of art that nobody remembers anymore, idk... This whole game gives me a lonely vibe now, after so long. Oof, I got a little carried away... Anyway, it could've been so much more but still... I'm VERY glad it exists. Just spontaneous thoughts from a genuine fan.

Something about the first half of this song really makes you feel the meaninglessness of war. It feels so hopeful yet so hopeless. So full of deep meaning and yet so utterly meaningless. This song fills me with the feeling of sitting on a beach at night watching a storm far out at sea. Like watching the void. Just this feeling of numbness that grabs your soul. It always gives me goosebumps. This is literally the only song I've ever heard that has given me that feeling so strongly.
definitely one of the most memorable games. sometimes i just stare into space and think about the long ass 5 minute humps in that game constantly searching for PLA, 500 meter combat, all the formations and spreads..blowin smoke, flanking, killing tanks, taking airfields, taking down choppers..actually TRYING to keep yourself and your guys alive....ahhh they need another good one like this
One of my top favorite matches back then was one where I just sat on a nearby mountain overlooking the objective area and delivering orders via binoculars while the other player spent the whole match trying to find me. Good memories

Game is hardcore hard shit. Love it. A friend of mine hated it. Too much walking. One thing that I love about this game is it taught me modern combat isnt just point gun and shoot
I remember I was on this skiing trip with my friend, I was sleeping in the hotel and I was having a dream about a vietnamese girl singing this song. I woke up and what I see - my friend, standing on his bed, a bottle of peach vodka lying on the floor and him singing this song, completely drunk.

Theres a reason most people don't regularly read anymore, because it has no INSTANT gratification that many forms of entertainment deliver nowadays. It's the same with this series, when Dragon Rising made its debut, it had it's issues sure but there weren't that many games out on console that made you take the time to learn and adapt, and it made you feel so good about yourself when you did overcome obstacles. Yeah sure a mission could take you anywhere between 30 minutes to upwards of 3 hours, but anytime you embarked on that mission, it was a journey.
