Bruce Willis's the Overseer that first appeared in Unbreakable is a truly inspirational character. Much of that is do in large part to James Newton Howard's excellent theme that is as much a part of the character as M. Night Shyamalan or Willis himself. Now that Glass has been released it rounds out David Dunn's arc and gives the Green Guard a dark, uncertain edge due to West Dylan Thordson's new, yet familiar, take on the character.

Unbreakable is still the most underrated superhero movie of all time
It'd be rated more highly if it weren't written so poorly.
@@Miant are you high it was written great
@@kylepatrick3284 David and Audrey used to be so much closer, and Shyamalan''s method of conveying this is awkwardly-constructed speech from her mouth.
When David's son points his own gun at him, all he had to do was make him question whether or not he was willing to run the risk that he was wrong about his father's invulnerability.
Elijah was willing to risk his easily-broken bones to pursue the man with the silver gun. He was lucky he didn't die from it, and had he died, he wouldn't have been around to further encourage David's analysis of his own abilities. If his fall was deliberate, and he knew how to avoid this, they should've indicated as much on-screen. Otherwise, this is a great big hole in the concept that his intelligence is anything above average. A truly intelligent man would recognize that there would be other opportunities to validate David's abilities.

The OST of Unbreakable is a underrated masterpiece.
You mean score or soundtrack, you dot know what ost is?
Kimmy Boy yes i know but isn’t the orginal
Love this soundtrack to bits. I even got it on CD.
Basically the trilogy may just be an underrated Masterpiece
quinten11 why not original?
BTW… Let’s ALL SAY A PRAYER for Bruce! ❤
The ending he got really was an injustice to his character.
jairo tovah indeed
I hated David's death, me too.
ikr? unfair shit, got me pissed
In a puddle..
jairo tovah but that’s what makes the movie so great is that it defies expectations as it should. M. Night takes risks unlike others who would play it safe. Like Glass says “This is not a cartoon this is the real world.”
I never knew that long before the X-Men, the Nolan verse, the Snyder verse, or the MCU, there was a cult following for just ONE superhero movie. One that actually achieves what many other superhero movies fall short on. Developing & fleshing out the characters. A story that isn’t a cliche “save the world” buildup. With incredible music. Like what many others said: This movie was made 10-15 years too early.
This film was a groundbreaking superhero film. Like Marvel, DC, Watchmen, etc., it also wasn't based off an already existing comic book character. Bruce Willis' character didn't have the benefit of a pre-existing comic book backstory to work from.

Awesome movie !
Not only my favourite hero of the cinema, but my personal hero.. growing up with an abusive father, Unbreakable played a key part in my gaining the strength the cut all ties with my father.. That movie ment the world to me, gave me the belief that you could find your strength within to overcome your struggles! The soundtrack is something I rehear often.. I was so excited after Split, as I always wished for the promised trilogy.. but I must admit, the ending of Glass really broke something in me.. @Suite Soundtracks, thank you so much for the compilation of all this beautiful music! It means the world to me!
Guess you were breakable in the end.
We are what we believe we are.
Yes, I surely was.. but out of this break, I get to rebuild myself, and hopefully build a stronger version! You have to find the positive in the negative. Have a lovely night, @@mr.b3168

He didn't deserve to die in such a pathetic way, he's a hero, God !!!
Correct. Glass was ass in distilled form
I know, the way he dies was so absurd, I thought it was a joke e.e
thats precisely the point
David Dunn is forever my favorite superhero bring him back pls 🙏🙏 am praying for the overseer return as Henry Cavill superman gives me hope for David or at least a prequel of his life for 15 years
@@preciousotoakhia9789 I also love him, but that's beyond imposible
02:40 beautiful chord progression
One of Glass' final lines is about how this isn't the climax/showdown, it's actually the origin story.
This isn't the main character dying in a pathetic way, this is the main character's dad being shot in a dirty alleyway. Glass, Horde, and Overseer are the martyrs that inspire and drive an upcoming world of heroes and villains. This is the origin of supers, and new heroes seeing the clover society drown one of their own in a puddle will put them on guard and position them in opposition to that shady group.
That's the Shayamalan twist. You thought this was a full superhero arc. But it didn't end like one because it was actually the opening incident before the story really begins. Normally 3 full movies aren't devoted to such a small part of a story. This microscope view of things is what made this story different.
HOW DID I NEVER NOTICE THAT?!?! THAT'S INCREDIBLE!!!
I hope you're right.
ok, but are they going to make a movie or something that plays off of that? Everybody loved David Dunn since Unbreakable. To do something like that is equivalent to what Infamous did and look how HORRIBLE Second Son was

The orange man scene is perhaps my favorite ever. So inspiring.
" Some of us can still bend steel."
David was the best of us... A reluctant hero that was willing to sacrifice his gift for the people he loved, and then ultimately being brave enough to be who he was capable of being.... I'm a screenwriter myself... and had to re-write the ending to Glass... I respect M. Nights vision, but I had my own idea for David
Can you publish your ending? In a multiverse all is accepted, And an end is not really an end
I always thought that with glass revealing everything to the world it shows David isn’t the first hero and he won’t be the last

Great one. I always loved every single version ost of Unbreakable.
I really wish Glass used some of James Newton Howard's tracks from Unbreakable. Don't get me wrong, West Dylan Thordson does a great job, but I feel like Howard understood David a lot better.

Now this is just a what if type of thing but I came up with a different ending for Glass.
It would be an after credits scene which would take place in David Dunns house, it would start in the basement of the house, where the weights are, and all in one take it would slowly go up the stairs, keep in mind at the beginning of this scene the main theme of Unbreakable(0:00) would have already started, and as we gradually go up the stairs of David's house, the track keeps building until we reach the coat hangers at the front door of David's house, at that point 2:03 would begin to play as we see David's iconic raincoat, and it would continue on getting closer to the raincoat until we hear footsteps coming downstairs and at that point a hand would reach for the jacket and take it, and then at 2:44, we would hear someone turning the lights off and the screen would cut to black as the track fades.
Keep in mind I completely respect M.Nights vision and I wouldn't be mad if he kept it this way, the whole point of Glass was to be subversive and I respect that M.Night went for his own thing, and I think that adds to Glass, but I still think if this happened it would be a nice triumphant end to the trilogy.
That would be crazy, I was so sad that the original unbreakable soundtrack were not in glass ..
Someone needs to edit the movie when it comes out and add this ending. It's brilliant.
So it's ambiguous if Joseph takes up the mantle or if David survived? Not bad. Music may work for it, but it would need to be cut off or edited to be conclusive.
Alternatively, I would have liked for the Beast to successfully drown David and then for his son to take up the fight and, to everyone's surprise, actually hold his own. Then the shooting can happen and Joseph can flee.
@Ramzi Productions Definitely not my ideal ending either, but we're trying to make the most of a really bad thing here.
The secret society thing really should have been relegated to an end credits thing. It did nothing for the plot.
When the world will collapse. Sure it will. Remember this tune and rise urself. Be something ashen one. Breathe. Survive. Become a hero.
I just get chills listening to this... it's amazing!
There are real heros just like David in this world....Both men and women...

@@preciousotoakhia9789 there is something called a hero complex...Don't let the net distorte its meaning...He/she is the opposite of a ceral killer...They don't take lives...They will risk thier own to save yours...Read about it...
Heroism coin is Personal Glory. It is the delta between your good deed and the reward by doing it. David got the exact opposite of what he deserved and he'll be remembered by it.
00:36 This is when I knew this song just went from epic to amazingly epic. It's both ominous and grandiose.
The best super hero of ever
David and Elijah makes me well up.
So underrated.
Yes, you're listening to it right now... but if you were alive when this movie came out, you know this soundtrack has never gotten the popularity it deserved.
Something about these themes always reached into my chest and touched my heart. Like I can close my eyes and feel the music touch me. Composer never got enough credit. Blows my mind that this came from another human's head.
James Netwon Howard was great with his "Wyatt Earp" music but that ultimately just adds fake nobility to a no-good time and place.
His work for "Signs" transcended everything, as befits a film of divinity being started JUST as 9/11 unfolded and designed specifically to help people get over that, and thus replete with the bounty of the Holy Spirit.
But this one is also absolutely tremendous (always putting me in mind of the music of the great epics), but the question is why?
I have seen Unbreakable but not Glass (though I would like to), so I have no full context to say where the majesty and depth here come from.
If this is again divine inspiration, well why would that be so?
David lives!!
Just remember, ellie would eventually go to prison. The shot of the puddle from the cctv would show her letting him drown.
Well thats a pretty good consolation. Really hated that character.
Since her organisation's main purpose was to keep superhumans' existence a secret from everyone, Mr Glass essentially defeated the entire organisation in one move and made them kinda purposeless. I do love that part.
@@Mutantgamer the twist I think is that Mr glass is the unsung hero of the story.
The only good guy to exist in the entire unbreakable universe. Plenty of villains in it like mr.glass, the beast, the psychiatrist lady, and the swat teams. And the bad guys won, thanks David Dunn for everything but the odds were against you.
Well, they didn’t win completely… in a strange way, Glass might have given rise to a whole new generation of heroes that could eventually come to avenge David… he deserved better though. RIP Overseer… we still miss you even now.

😣😣😣😣😣
Before Glass was Split it was Unbreakable!!
New sequel should be SHATTERED
I know that many people didn't live how The Overseer, Horde and Mr Glass died but I am going to give the fans and mourners something good,
This my theory about the ending, now these 3 super-humans The Overseer, The Horde and Mr Glass will be remembered forever as the super-humans that had a hand in blowing the whistle on the Clover society mission and not only that but could become idols for other super-humans who would appear, for those who proof their superiority and cause harm will be inspired by Mr Glass and The Horde but those who want to protect people they will be inspired by The Overseer, his actions and what he died for - doing the right thing as he is this world's equivalent to Superman.
The reason why is because when we think of the word hero we think of Superman and his traits and beliefs as well as the cost of making sure those values upheld as seen when Superman fought and killed Doomsday but ending up costing him life but Superman done so anyway
For The Overseer, he will become this world's Superman and even those he's gone The Overseer or I should say David Dun with be remembered as the original hero, his strengths, traits and shows why the values he had are important and the cost of maintaining them in his profession.
So I can believe that other new superhumans/heroes will believe in the same thing even if it kills them in the end but they enter this world knowing the risks much like those who protect us to day like police, soldiers, coast guard and firefighters.
Please dont compare cartoonish superman with david dunn.

After watching the movie twice and all the time that's passed that glass is a good movie it's not to the level of unbreakable but it's a well made movie with a serviceable ending but really good acting and shooting
Nope
Unbreakable asks the question what if superman was on earth and needed lex luthor to wake him up to his destiny? Fucking genius. I love this movie.
The nature of life right there
A way I personally feel the ending could’ve been slightly improved with a small addition is showing a specific individual be inspired by the footage. Better yet show multiple people realising their potential with the footage on their phone or computer in view. Someone climbing the wall, someone bending steel, just give some light on how these three truly changed the world.

"It's okay to be afraid, David. Because this part won't be like a comic book."
I wanted the soundtrack apeared when he brokes the door, when he dies and at the credits... It could made fue movie much better.
yes it should of made an appearance
Remember, we are talking about M Night Shyamalan, the guy who likes to give a plot twist.
If you, as well as I, was expecting the door at the morgue just blow up and he appears alive, then he (Shyamalan) won't give us that, because this is what we expected.
M Night Shyamalan wants to give surprises to his audiences. If you expect something to happen in his movies, he will not give it, but instead, he will deliver what you don't expect.
Plus, he didn't want to create a Shyamalan Cinematic Universe, same as Marvel or DC. The Unbreakable, Split and Glass are the trilogy he wanted and a fourth movie will ruin it.
I could be wrong here but i could have sworn that this was played during the movie, not for long but i did hear it.

Sublime
As good as the music was in Glass, I can't help but think just how much more emotional and impactful the finale would've been if the music used in the final train station scene was the theme that played during the credits from Unbreakable, or even 'The Orange Man'.
Better yet, a new version of the theme with Split's 'Meeting the Others' integrated within it could've been incredible.
Not that 'Origin Story' wasn't bad, though. West Dylan Thordson did a grand job in fairness.
End leads to new beginnings. Belief is the motif for the future. I do think there should have been more references though to add weight.
I think my only problem with the movie of glass, was the ending,it was so good until then
The movie is trying to be realistic. The Clover organization was going to kill them before they even got to the tower. Glass knew that and thats why he chose to expose them that way. Sure its not pretty, but so isn't real life
This soundtrack is perfect for jogging. And, of course, it's a cinematic masterpiece.
What upsets me most is Shyamalan not caring about the fate of the hero he literally created, it makes zero sense
The movies are all centered around being realistic. Its not supposed to be your average comic book hero movie. In real life not everyone lives in the end. This is what would've happened in real life. No big fight. No explosions. No happy ending. The clover organization would've killed them before they even got to the building, so no one would know. Glass knew this and that was his master plan, to let everyone know that superheroes exist. I know David didnt DESERVE to die by drowning in a pot hole. But real life its like that.
