I got 50 hours online and had a blast. But the Devs ruined it, lack of updates etc. The game was so unbalanced for characters too at launch, then later unpopular modes on rotation. Downloading again to play with bots because it was still so much fun! But the Devs should be ashamed by their management. And pathetic they couldn't even respond to players Update: tried the game after all these years and can get a full game after 1 to 2 mins. How is this dead? Is rhis net bs again?
bro if this came out on pc id main it it looks amazing even with the limited content its a fun looking game i cant believe sony was trying to make it an exclusive and expected it to succeed
I like the detailed explanation of what happened with the game 👍 The thing is sometimes it is hard to advertise certain games. Rocket League also seemed like a weird concept but with launching on ps plus getting traction and becoming also popular on PC it managed to get people attention. For me it was interesting to watch the video presenting the game from the first announcement to the current day. Have a nice time gaming!
It's such a shame, I had a hella of a time playing this game. Got the platinum trophy too. Wish it was handled better, as I believe it could have been successful.
Sony are working on like 12 live service games right? They should bring back PlayStation Home. These 'metaverse' things are all the craze right now, I think it could be insanely popular. Anyway, I really enjoyed this game and kept returning to it hoping that it wasn't going to be abandoned. I worked hard collecting skins, Twinkle Riot being my favourite character. I think it's only a matter of time before this game is pulled from the PS Store, the developers have all but abandoned it at this point. It's a financial drain keeping the servers open. The character animations in this game were fantastic. I didn't like the meaningless gesture politics in their second AllStar Pass, I do wonder if that drove the last of the dwindling player base away. I was hoping to see more game modes and characters in the future. It was fun while the game lasted, I'm really not sure why I still have this game installed on my SSD at this point.
I got it for free when it was available through PS Plus. And that was also around the time I actually got my PS5 (3 months after launch). I didn’t get around to playing it until May 2022. The flaws and problems with the game were as plain as when I started it the first time. I actually did have fun playing the game, and was also able to platinum it. Of course, half of the trophies, I got via boosting sessions with other players, but was still otherwise worth it. Overall the game had so much potential, but it was completely wasted. It was a 6/10 for me.
Any chance that this might actually still be alive as in Lucid or Sony havent said its dead or cancelled just yet and are just waiting for the right time to reintroduce again? Like you stated in the video... And from what we all knew and experienced PS5s as it was ONLY available on were scarce and Covid and the economy also didnt help Sony ship more PS5s Chip shortages affected PS5s / Scalping affected PS5s and its only really this year 2023 that PS5s are officially now beating the scalpers back and 2022 when covid officially ended etc And Sony acquired Bungie...... Destruction to me an outsider that doesnt have a PS5 looks like its got all the aesthetic requirements... it looks fun, its bright colourful... and like you said they did try to reintroduce it like a few people have said the messaging didnt help and the time that it got pushed out didnt help........ during the toughest time for a pS5 as well as for humanity in general.... i would like to see Sony gve another cash injection into it to see now that restrictions and what not are off
This is why online focused games are just bad ideas completely. Should have had an offline progression system for when the online dies. For those who still want to play and experience the full game. Cant stand online battlepass garbage that has content thats missable completely after a certain date. The gameplay looks good and fun. I also heard u can play in offline modes with AI. Which is nice as the game is still playable with that. But whats the point if all the cool stuff is locked to online progression?! 🙄
Even though I haven't played this game, (you may know why) I have watched gameplay of it and it. Was. Great. Mix Destruction Derby with Overwatch and you get this. It was funny to see one character named "Muna" because muna literally means egg in Finnish and muna is also a Finnish slang word for "a ball". But not the ball you score points with.
UPDATE: Since the end of May 2024, the online servers haven’t been working. Nothing is officially shut down, but it’s clear Lucid Games has moved on.

I just found out about this game... Definitely gonna give it a try
I now have a PS5 now, so I can finally try this game out. I am hoping its offline content is good enough for me.

I would have been all over this if it was on pc. I still remember watching the trailer and getting hyped just to learn it was ps5 exclusive.

Favourite AllStars of mine:
Genesis, Bluefang, Ultimo Barricado
Taking out lobby voice chat was a terrible move
Don't know what you're talking about because its still there.
Wish they brought it to pc
Another twisted metal would be cool
